I’d like to see a list of all coaches who have taken that path. I wouldn’t think the list would be very long, especially in the past 10 years or so.

Those 4 games are when SL lost me. It’s not because we lost them all, but rather HOW we lost them. If it was high school we would have had running clocks in the 2nd half of UAB and Marshall.

Agreed. I prefer the helmet with “UTEP”, but the one they wore Saturday isn’t bad at all. I loved our look Saturday as well.

Maybe I’m just cynical, but the transfer portal in my mind is mostly a selfish tool to be used to get more playing time and/or put yourself in a better position to get to the next level.

Great catch at the end of the game, but not sure a season stat line of 5 catches for 88 yards is a bona fide star. Potentially, yes, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

I thought we looked pretty good tonight save the last few minutes of the game (minus the winning drive of course). No dumb, undisciplined type penalties, defense was great, offense was…not as bad as usual, not too many bad decisions, etc. I thought we actually looked decent. This game really emphasized the fact that we could be a good team if we had a QB. We complain about running the ball so much, but I think that’s because we’re so hamstrung by our QB play. That being said, Aune was gutsy in the 4th quarter.

98 yard drive that ends with no points. You don’t see that every Saturday. I don’t have a problem with going for it on 4th. Still a nice, time consuming drive.

I will be rooting for the Mean Green as always, but if we lose I won’t be nearly as upset as usual. It’s kind of like when my son played travel baseball. I wanted them to win every tournament, but when they lost and I got to go home, I wasn’t too upset.

Agreed. On a personal level I think the hoodie is awesome, but I’d never wear it because some people think that’s still our name. It’s irritated me for years, so I don’t want to fuel the fire.

If we win out I will most likely change my mind because that would indicate that something has changed. I’m talking about bringing him back just because we beat UTEP and FIU. That’s two totally different scenarios.

The whole coaching issue has made for a very weird season. The last couple of games, instead of being happy with the win, I’m almost disappointed because I’m afraid that it could mean we have the same coach next year. I’ve said all along that it’s how we win or lose that should dictate a coaching change and I think the way we have lost most games (and the way we’ve won some) leaves no doubt. I’m beginning to fear that I was wrong and that 5 wins will ensure the return of SL regardless.
