TCU showing their mettle
NT93 replied to Hunter Green's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Saying you’re losing credibility indicates that you have credibility to lose. Saying it’s obvious I don’t watch much college football is literally calling me football ignorant. Very different. But yes, agree to disagree. -

You’re in the minority with that opinion, but hey, it’s your opinion. Just don’t tell me I don’t know anything about college football since I don’t share this minority opinion. -

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you. By great individual effort I thought it was obvious (plus I stated as much) that I was talking about his effort and will to win. It was obviously not a great performance statistically. He finished 2nd in Heisman voting and you’re comparing him to Austin Aune. That tells me all I need to know about who hasn’t watched much college football. -

You’re losing any credibility you may have had. I don’t know and don’t care what his stats were in the B12 title game, that was one of the greatest individual efforts you will ever see. Comparing him to Aune is possibly the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read on this forum and that’s really saying something. -
I question the play call to put the game in the hands of your backup QB, but I do think he could have run it in. I don’t feel like the thread was resurrected to dogpile him. I have no doubt it would have been brought back to life had Bean been successful on the play. I mean, look at the title of the thread.

Not to answer for @NorthTexasWeLove, but I took his reply as kind of self deprecating humor. I thought it was funny. I tend to be a North Texas guy, but I don’t mind UNT. I just prefer we wear green and white. As far as merchandise goes, I just made a pretty good haul at Rally House Frisco and online. I didn’t realize there was a Rally House inside Stonebriar. Based on the “Pick up in store” option online, they would seem to have a good selection of North Texas/UNT gear.

Breaking: North Texas hires Coach O as Director of Recruiting

I threw it out there as my theory. I hope that’s not where you got the idea🤣🤣

Aune wasn’t a terrible QB. I watched enough college football this year to say that he was about average. I think the bowl game was a great summary of his career. He had two absolutely terrible passes that resulted in interceptions. Other than those two passes, he wasn’t bad…not great, but not bad. It seemed like he could be playing pretty well at times and just make the most awful pass or most awful decision. He represented the school well and by all indications he was a great teammate and team leader. I don’t see the need to disparage him on his way out. I thank him for his years here and wish him well in the future.

If you say so. It amazes me how many people on here don’t understand the concept of differing opinions.

My thought is that Coach Morris was honest with Jake and Asher and told them that it might be in their best interest to find a school who will better utilize their immense talent.

KD should be a unanimous first ballot HOF selection. Thanks for the great memories and as others have said, thanks for doing it with class.

Not saying Aledo doesn’t recruit, but parents seek out Aledo too. Since they are close to a big city, it’s easy for parents to get jobs and move. When you’ve won 11 state championships, people want to be a part of it. I’m not too naive to think recruiting doesn’t happen, but I also know there are tons of accusations thrown around with zero proof. Gunter, Brock, Carthage, Aledo, etc., etc. Basically, any school that is successful is accused of recruiting.

Winning does a lot of recruiting for you. People move into those towns because they want their kid to have a chance to play for state championships.

I agree and I’ll add that’s it’s especially true of grad transfers in my opinion. If you’ve got your degree, you’re an alumni just the same as the rest of us.

That’s okay. You’re their #1 best seller.🤣🤣🤣 I hope you don’t respond with George’s final comeback. 🤣😬🤣

The portal is for college players, so he’s not hitting the portal. Not being a jerk, just clarifying.
