Oregon was obviously the first school to have the feathered helmet. Were we the first to have it in green and white? I guess so, but many schools have copied Oregon’s original design…even if they’ve modified it to some degree.

I love the Flying Worm, but like that it’s only used as a throwback. I prefer a pretty basic helmet, so give me green with white SOW home and white with green SOW away. I used to be very anti- enlarged wing, but I would be okay with either of those in white or green also. Can we just delete Row 4? What a terrible run of helmets.

You make a great point that I failed to mention: we’ve been blown out in 7 winnable games over the past two seasons.

I tend to agree. I’ll also add that we have to keep the losses respectable. The 20+ point losses (7 times) the last two seasons were what sent me over the edge.

What if, in your haste, you name the wrong starter? In my opinion, nothing brings out the best (and sometimes worst) in a player better than a tight competition. And, as @Cr1028 mentioned, game planning for Cal most likely won’t start until the 28th.

I am too, but if it’s because we have three really good QB’s and none are separating themselves, I’m ok with it. If it’s because we have three decent QB’s and they keep hoping someone shows something…could be a long season. FWIW, I think it’s the first situation I described.

There are certainly several teams in League 2 that I think we are equal to or better than and even a few in League 1, but overall not too bad.

Aresco is doing a poor job of representing the conference if the best solution is “take four teams with me and be the commissioner of a new conference.” I have a hard time believing this is true.

TCU and Houston both overcame being left out of the Big 12. Who’s to say Baylor wouldn’t have as well?

Thank you for doing this. Those threads were like the train wreck I couldn’t help but look at. I figure I saved about 10 minutes of wasted time* today since they weren’t on the football page calling my name. I agree with @NT80 that the realignment issue is extremely important to UNT right now, but I feel like there was never any real update in those threads, just new rumors and speculation. I assume when something actually happens it will be on the football page…hopefully with lots of celebratory banter. *i can’t fall asleep so I went to the realignment section and wasted those 10 minutes after all.😆
