  1. I may not want to know the answer to this.
  2. Homefield is a brand. I don’t think they’ll be carrying Nike.
  3. I agree that we should market the Cal game hard. I just think you could leave off “the first Power Five opponent to visit Denton since 2011.” Something like: UNT will host the Cal Golden Bears of the PAC 12 to open the season This identifies them as a school from a known conference without implying that they and their ilk are superior to us.
  4. This looks really bad and if proven true, he needs to pay the price. Re: The Tweet by Justis M. trying to make a connection with Art Briles at Stephenville is ridiculous. Briles left Stephenville before Renfro was even born. The fact that they both have a connection to Stephenville is nothing more than a coincidence. Now, the connection to Baby Briles…not saying there’s anything to it, but it’s definitely worth mentioning.
  5. But did you mention that Cal was a P5 school and we haven’t hosted one since 2011?🤣🤣
  6. We’re not helping ourselves to appear as equals when we use playing a middling P5 school as a marketing tool.
  7. Only aTm would have a maroon out against an opponent that’s maroon. There’s an aggie joke in there somewhere🤣🤣
  8. I believe you failed to mention the two most important things these students athletes are getting: an education and lots of networking connections.
  9. Nope. I could be wrong, but I don’t think college recruiters go by what 24/7 sports has to say. I figure it’s more likely that the ratings services see who’s recruiting a kid and they get rated accordingly.
  10. And to add to it, where was Auburn 4 years ago when UNT was giving you a full ride and a chance to even get a “better job?
  11. To clarify, I’m not saying that Jamario shouldn’t be in the HOF, I’m saying that he shouldn’t be on his freshman season alone. While he obviously never reached near that level of performance again, he did have almost 1700 yards rushing in his final three seasons and led the team in rushing his junior and senior seasons.
  12. This is exactly who I was thinking of when I posted that one great season shouldn't make you HOF worthy. Not to get off topic, but Freshman Jamario was one of the most exciting players I've ever seen. That being said, he shouldn't be in the HOF based on that one season.
  13. The “or return here to coach” makes this an odd question. I understand the part about the HOF, but why would a person be precluded from getting a job here? Being honored versus being employed seems like two entirely different things. To answer the first part of your question, I think anyone entering the portal probably hasn’t put up career numbers worthy of the HOF. I don’t think one great season should get you in the HOF, but as has been stated many times, our HOF doesn’t have the highest of standards.
  14. Which is more exciting that he’s been a backup his entire college career or that we will be his fourth school?
  15. Agreed, but I still think most fans are excited to see someone new under center. If our QB play is worse this year, we are screwed, and I might take back my post that there’s no way we finish 12th in the AAC. I expect improved QB play this year.
  16. Don’t most UNT fans see this as a positive?
  17. If we can’t replace 23 catches for 600 yards, we’re definitely in trouble. I was a big fan of Shorter and loved his potential, but I don’t think we ever saw the full potential manifested. That being said, the 11 TD’s were big.
  18. I can’t tell you where we’ll finish, but it sure as hell won’t be 12th.
  19. I’m going to remember that bit of advice.🤣
  20. I’m oddly not too excited by this commitment. I hope you’re right and I’m wrong.
  21. He was recently hired as an assistant at UNT.
  22. No, they show up to watch Alabama win which they do a lot with Saban as coach.
