AAC not interested in Oregon State or Washington State.

Regarding Aresco doing what was best for everyone he represents. What a sad statement that this is “a rare thing today.” -
Maybe he did.

Our AD made a MASSIVE mistake with this HC hire
NT93 replied to Travis's topic in Mean Green Football
I suspect we’ll see a whole different team against FIU, LaTech, and ACU. I sure hope I’m right or it’s gonna be a long season. -
Two fumbles inside the five, two blocked field goals, and one interception will get you beat whether you’re using the transfer portal or not.
-
We had an educational moment thanks to a Cal fan in a Jason Kidd jersey. My son didn’t realize Kidd went to Cal.
-
No doubt. That missed field goal may have been the worst thing to happen to us all afternoon….although the list is long.
-
I’ve read in several threads about Cal being a mediocre team. 1. How do we know that after 1 game? (Dumb question I know since some of you can already tell that we hired the wrong coach). 2. They had a bad record last year, but they lost by 7 points to Notre Dame, Washington, USC, and UCLA. They also had a couple of head scratchers, but they obviously went toe to toe with some very good teams. That tells me that when they play well, they’re pretty good.

Why should be emulate Wyoming and Fresno St. any more than Boise St. and Colorado St. (or any of the other schools I listed)?
-
You’re cherry picking games. How about Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose St, Boise St, Colorado St, Arkansas St, etc.? Plus, it’s one game. Outside of UTSA I don’t expect any of the teams you listed to have great seasons.

Our AD made a MASSIVE mistake with this HC hire

No, I won’t eat crow because some people on a message board made knee jerk reactions after one game that so happened to come true. I don’t have a wagon hitched to Morris. If he ends up being a bad hire, so be it, but to say that after one game is a little ridiculous.- 105 replies

That play was embarrassing, but what does it have to do with coaching?

You guys can tell after one game that Coach Morris was a bad hire? Y’all are good. Real good.- 105 replies

You may very well be correct, but do we really know that Cal is a mediocre team this year? I think we’ll have a better idea after next week.

ACC officially invites Cal, Stanford and SMU
NT93 replied to Cougar King's topic in Conference ReAlignment
You think more highly of the ACC than I do. I expect SMU to be middle of the pack next year. I hope you’re right though. 3-9 would be so awesome. -

ACC officially invites Cal, Stanford and SMU
NT93 replied to Cougar King's topic in Conference ReAlignment
Big 12 > ACC Outside of Clemson and Fla St, the conference is very average. That being said, I think SMU can be competitive. No reason they can’t play with Duke, Virginia, NC St, GaTech, Louisville, VaTech, etc. -
If everybody took this approach there’d be a whole lot of forfeits this year. Heck, the PAC-12 would hardly play any games🤣

I feel like UNT basically stood pat during all of this realignment. I don’t want to downplay the AAC losing SMU, but I don’t think it’s a huge loss. I admit that I assumed the AAC would add the two remaining PAC schools, but I don’t necessarily disagree with the decision from a geographic standpoint. You can make guesses as to what will happen in the future, but as it stands today, I think we are in about the same position we were in before all of this started. I posted in a few threads that I was very concerned about ending up in CUSA 2.0, so I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome…so far. -
So often that in those situations I figured the odds us stopping them was about 50/50 at best.

Funny how perceptions are different. I feel like the flying worm is worn about once a season.

So now it’s just the Pavilion and not the Alumni Pavilion? This is meant somewhat tongue in cheek.

I saw this as well, but since it was on the Alumni Association website I assumed it was understood that it meant open to all alumni association members. It is definitely not clear. Thanks to everyone for the info. I plan to check it out with my son this Saturday.
