  1. I agree
  2. “In hot water” and “on the hot seat” are different. The former means he is in big trouble and the latter means he’s in danger of losing his job…being overly simplistic of course. Example: SL was often on the hot seat, but he was never in hot water.
  3. “In hot water”
  4. I think we are perceived as equals to Sam Houston State, SFA, and Texas State due to our time in I-AA. What changes that? Winning and better conference affiliation. Is the AAC enough? Not sure, but it’s the best opportunity we’ve ever had to “wake the sleeping giant.”
  5. Tie between NIL and the transfer portal (in their current state.) I’m not opposed to either, but the way they are set up now, it’s the Wild West. The game would seem to be in bad shape just from the fact that you were able to make a poll with 8 choices as to what bugs us most.
  6. That’s got to be photoshopped, right? Nope. It’s real. Wow, what a mistake!
  7. You can probably look at their won-loss record and determine how much they lower their standards.
  8. I agree. The argument some people make for NIL is that the athletes are being taken advantage of by the schools. “The schools make millions and the kids don’t get any of it.” That’s only the case in football and men’s basketball. Probably every other sport operates in the red or with minimal profit. I just don’t see how anyone other than football or basketball players (as a general rule) can expect to be paid NIL $$.
  9. Now this is an actual update. I was certain I was going to read that he met a former Maverick player and discussed their love of the game.🤣🤣
  10. This seems to be how a lot of people feel, myself included.
  11. I feel certain that NIL will have a negative impact on academic achievement. If I’m an 18-22 year old making $100k, I’m not too worried about my education. Once I run out of eligibility and I don’t make it in professionally, I’ll burn through that money pretty quickly. It’s all short term thinking with no vision for the future which seems counter to what SMU would endorse with their academic status.
  12. Humble brag?🤣 This can’t be stressed enough.
  13. It appears as though he met former Alabama and Dallas Cowboy great George Teague. I believe they bonded over their love of the game.
  14. I’m not sure everyone understands the concept of an update.😆
  15. The part that irritates me is that they are “100% committed.” Just seems like an emphasis to show that they are all in, when in reality they’re probably not. But at the same time, I get it. They’re 17-18 year olds who are being heavily pressured into making the most important decisions of their lives to date.
  16. I’ve got two of these. I ripped a hole in the first one the first time I wore it, so I bought another one.
  17. If this is true, it sounds like he’s NBA ready.
  18. I think you mean to say that the chicken is involved, but the cow is committed. At least, that’s the way Ribby Paultz told it🤣🤣.
  19. I would add that the face is a little different and the SOW seems to be diving a bit more. The top wing also seems a bit more “aerodynamic.”
  20. Gotcha. Thanks
  21. Please don’t make me see it on a TV screen.😩
  22. I could easily be missing something here, but what does this thread have to do with DCTF? I don’t see a single reference to it until your post.
  23. I’ve watched several of Chad and Sara’s videos and I enjoy them. I’ve found a few good pours based on their review/recommendation. This video is from three years ago, but I thought it was very appropriate for this thread.
