The 1st quarter is the way an FBS team is supposed to dominate an FCS team. After the 1st quarter the offense wasn’t great and the defense is what we’ve come to expect after 4 weeks. We were outscored after the 1st quarter and that’s pretty sad. I know the drive to start the 2nd half was 15 plays and 75 yards in about 5:00, but I thought it was pretty underwhelming considering the opponent.

North Texas vs ACU (9/30/2023) Score Predictions

If we score less than 50 and give up more than 20, I most likely won’t feel great about it. -
This guy has made $45k and lives rent-free in a high rise apartment…all while redshirting. It’s not even pay to play, it’s pay to be on the team and maybe play in the future. I think we’d all take that deal.

100% True. I don’t blame the players, I just don’t like the system. It’s pay to play under the code name NIL.

I didn’t watch much of the Cal game, but I believe they were down 14-0 before Washington’s offense ever took a snap. That’s hard to overcome for any team, especially an underdog who knows everything has to go right if they want to have a chance at an upset. Probably going to be a tough year for Cal, but who expected the PAC 12 to be so loaded.

Eric Morris visits The San Antonio QB Club - Part 1
NT93 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Morris comes in and does the right thing by being respectful of players and trying to build relationships and where does that get him? It truly is a selfish, look out for #1 business. Thanks for posting. Some great insight gained from reading it. -
You’re not the only one, but you’re standing in a pretty short line.

I looked up the scoring summary because I was interested to see how they went from 3 points to 21 points. Three touchdowns with three failed 2 point conversions. I like our odds against them if it comes down to a 2 point conversion.🤣🤣

Everybody’s been doing it wrong for years. It took Deion to figure out that going first is the better strategy. The ESPN worship of Deion and “Grown” was an absolute beating. I’d be irate if I were a Colorado St. fan who had to listen to it for 4 quarters.

My son’s high school coach said there’s no such thing as a “gamer.”Could explain why he’s no longer a head coach🤣🤣 On another note, QB issues are not unique to UNT. Alabama and Ohio St., to name two schools, have played multiple QB’s so far this season and I think both of those schools have decent coaches who also got to judge their QB’s in the spring and in fall camp.

I thought he said “this job here” meaning coaching football.
-
I thought so at first, but on the replay I thought he got just past the 10 yard line. I would have liked to have seen a measurement based on an accurate spot. He may have still been short, but I think it would have been very close. One thing’s for sure, the original spot was absolutely horrible.
-
I don’t disagree, but I’ll play devils advocate. What would be our reaction if Morris was a Flexbone guru, but it was failing miserably with Littrell’s Air Raid roster? Would we expect Morris to run a version of the Air Raid since that’s what he has the personal for? Honestly, and I really don’t mean this as a knock on Caponi, but he may not even know how to teach another defense. Kind of the same as it’s unlikely Morris could teach another offense. A lot of these guys are married to the system they know and trust.
-
What a finish. I think Navy got ripped. The original spot was obviously wrong, but I think the receiver may have actually gotten the first down. The yellow line was a good 6”-8” off. When they brought out the chains, it was at about the 9 and a half yard line. Basically, if the refs spot it correctly to begin with, it may have been enough for the first down.
-
A big difference I see is that Colorado and TxSt were terrible teams last season. It was very apparent that they needed a roster overhaul. That wasn’t the case at UNT.

Was Morris the Wrong Hire? (Spoiler.. We Don't Know)
NT93 replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Is not calling for him to be fired after two games making excuses for him? I won’t pretend to have read every post on the board, but I just haven’t seen a lot of excuses being made. I’ve just seen a few people be level-headed and try to talk others off the ledge. Bottom line is that nobody is happy with the first two games, and things look really bad. BUT, no coach is ever going to be fired after a few games. Pro, college, high school…you generally don’t fire someone after only one season unless there are other issues unrelated to football. Not saying it’s right or wrong, it’s just the way it is. Update: 29 NFL coaches have been fired after one season in the history of the league. I didn’t look to see the reasons. The earliest a P5 coach has been fired for losing is Willie Taggart after 21 games at Florida St. That’s all I found in my two minutes of research. -

NT93 replied to Travis's topic in Mean Green Football
I didn’t say wait until next week, but I did say give it time and don’t knee jerk. Well, I’m about ready to bow to Prophet Travis. I wasn’t sure about Cal and I actually think they are better than mediocre as many said, but I know FIU is bad. We’re back to being Bottom 10.
