BREAKING: Jason Edwards to enter transfer portal

I’m hearing rumors that aTm Commerce is headed to the WAC and Austin College will replace them in the Southland.

I hope my previous post wasn't taken as complaining. Though it is negative towards UNT to some degree, my main point was to take a shot at the mighty SEC. Seton Hall is very good when they are playing well. I don't think they played well today because they were playing an inferior opponent, I think they had one of those games where they played well and things just seemed to go their way. Add to that playing at home in the small gym and they had an even greater advantage than normal. They are a legitimate Sweet 16/Elite 8 type team when they play like they did today and we hung with them for a while. The run to end the first half was big and then early in the 2nd half we had chances to cut the lead to 4 points and we just couldn't get a key shot to fall. After that it just seemed to go downhill, though I don't think we ever stopped competing. People who know basketball nationally recognize that we have a good program. It just takes time and few breaks to become a national brand.

I agree about going on the road and beating a team that beat us earlier in the season. Great win. I just don't think beating an SEC team means as much as it did before Round 1 of the NCAA Tournament. SEC had too many teams in the NCAA's. The Big East didn't get enough. Good season with lots of bumps/hiccups along the way, but they persevered and overcame a lot. It was a gritty team that I really enjoyed watching play. Just ran into a buzz saw today.
-
Another consideration: the win over LSU lost some luster after the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The SEC is overrated. 8 teams, 5 loses and most to much lower seeds.
-
This must be how Seton Hall played when they beat UConn. Based on some of their scores, they seemed inconsistent. This must be them hitting on all cylinders which makes them one of the better teams in the country.
-
The 3 at the buzzer to end the half was huge.
-
Agree. Their defense seems to be giving us trouble.
-
Watching the game last night, one of my first thoughts was that neither team would kill us with their size. I like our chances.

Jekyl and Hyde. Beat UConn by 15 then lose by 30. Beat St. John’s by a total of 21 points over two games then lose to them by 19. Beat Xavier by 18 and lose to them by 20. Inconsistent, it seems.

I feel like Charlotte (and USF) benefited from an easier conference schedule than the other top 7 teams. I could be wrong because I didn’t bother looking up their schedule, but I don’t recall them playing FAU, Memphis, SMU, UAB, or UNT twice and I think most of the teams I listed played each other twice. That being said, I was a little surprised they didn’t get in.

Have a ticket center in the UNT Union/bookstore, somewhere almost all students visit daily, plus almost every visitor. Signage everywhere on campus promoting games. Students should never not know "when the next game is." Run campus buses strategically to provide transportation to games. Promote the skills and productions of other student organizations at games. Organizations who may be made up of students who don't normally like sports. Have student musicians/bands perform national anthems or halftime, have pregame art galleries, screen Media Arts film festival winners at halftimes I like all of your ideas, but these three seem so easy and relatively inexpensive. Plus, they are all geared towards current students who obviously have a connection to the university.

I know I’ll be in the minority here, but I disagree. Looking only at the conference schedule, football finished 8th and lost close games to UTSA, Memphis, and Tulane. No loses to anyone below us in the standings. Basketball finished 7th with close loses to SMU, UAB (x2) and FAU (x2). Lost to one team below us in the standings. Very similar seasons in my opinion.

Doesn't even look like Rogers will start at Cal

Caleb Williams: Dr. Pepper and Nissan Coach Prime’s sons: Amazon…I think. That’s all I got, so your point is well taken. -
This line of thinking is why I wasn’t too upset when they beat us on Wednesday. The odds have to be in our favor, right?

When Morris rejoins his dad who is our starter?
NT93 replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Football
You say “rejoins his dad,” but when was the last time he played where his dad coached? But, yeah, why start a new thread on this topic? -
If USF goes 17-1 in conference and doesn’t make the NCAA Tournament, the selection process is more screwed up than I realized.
-
I agree with both statements. Yet, this is only a 1 or 2 bid league?
-
If I got choose, I’d take the #6 seed. That’s assuming we don’t get the #4 seed.
-
The beat down they (SMU) put on Memphis a couple of weeks ago has done the exact opposite of what you would have expected…for both teams.
-
Valid point.

Moreso than Javion or Tylor.
