  1. I agree and even said so in another thread. But still, if I’m playing for Tech and little ol’ UNT is kind of mocking me…it might be an added motivation.
  2. How many of these poor kids went to camps and put together highlight videos to send to coaches hoping to be offered a chance to be so completely taken advantage of? And then, they celebrate in February when they sign the Letter of Intent with the school that is going to force them to play football. They wear the colleges shirts and caps and take photos with friends and family. All to celebrate being forced into unpaid labor. It’s very strange. Even more strange are the players known as “walk-ons.” They beg for the opportunity to have a chance to be on the team, even without getting the middling scholarship to play. Why do they do it?
  3. I don’t want to get the thread off topic, but this post made me think: “Did we give Tech motivation to beat us with the ‘Sellout vs Wyoming’ campaign?” The unstated assumption was obviously that we would be coming off a win at Tech and be 3-0. I can see that causing a Big 12 team to have a little more focus and have a little more desire to win than normal against an AAC team.
  4. https://www.si.com/college-football/tennessee-capitalizing-nil-talent-fee-season-tickets I know some will think it's a good idea, but I think it's ridiculous.
  5. I think the “Fire Morris” stuff is ridiculous, but if/when Napier becomes available…I might jump on the bandwagon.
  6. I’m with you, but I’ll say Florida ( nor any other team) would fire their coach after 3 games if the team was 2-1.
  7. I didn’t downvote you, but your response is more baby-ish than a downvote.
  8. I think being 0-2 and with their coach on the hot seat, Tech came out on a mission. We showed no sign of stopping their offense and then we miss a chip shot field goal that would have made it 14-10. Then we have Pick 6, punt, interception, interception. A game will get away from you in hurry with that chain of events. Honestly, I feared this type of game after our first possession. False start when we would have had a first down, then we run into the return man on the punt.
  9. I guess if Mestemaker had gone to China Spring he would have been the starter there.
  10. I wonder if Texas St., UTSA, and SMU feel this way. They didn’t go that route with their hires and it’s worked out pretty well for them so far.
  11. We may not roll, but we’ll be competitive. This is one of those games. Miss a >30 yard field goal. 3 interceptions in 4 possessions (or was it 3 in a row?). It went from 14-7 with us in the red zone to 35-7 in the blink of an eye. I’m not saying this was going to be a close game, because it didn’t appear that we would stop them, but 52-7 at halftime is, I don’t think, indicative of how they would normally beat us.
  12. Lots of justifiable bitching about the defense, but hasn’t the offense been worse?
  13. EVERY SINGLE TIME we have an opportunity to gain some respect, this is what happens. EVERY SINGLE TIME
  14. There’s already a thread discussing this.
  15. I misread this at first and was trying to figure out what them playing at Temple next year had to do with anything.😊🤣🤣
  16. No jealousy at all and it has nothing to do with conference affiliation. It doesn’t make sense to hope for success for a team with whom we’re competing for recruits and possibly fans.
  17. My thoughts exactly. I think it’s probably a good way to honor guys who played in those helmets. But…I don’t care for them.
  18. Damn you for making any comparison between Mason Fine and Andrew McNulty.
  19. I know. I was making a (bad) joke regarding the number of “eccentric” students at UNT.
  20. The irony that it used to be called “Normal College.”
  21. Let’s re-join the Southland while we’re at it.🤣
  22. This is maybe an odd thing to post, but I wonder if there is a way to find out how to send a Get Well card? I would think privacy issues would prevent the athletic department from giving out that information.
  23. I love the Flying Worm, but only as a throwback. I wouldn’t want for it to be our official logo again.
  24. I’m a fan of the celebration, but not so much a fan of doing it when the interception cost us 20+ yards🤣🤣
  25. The way the game played out was very frustrating, but I said before the game that we needed to score a minimum of 42 (which we essentially did) and give up 17 or less (which the defense did). Also, the offense gave SFA good field position twice at the 11 and 31, and SFA only got 10 points out of it which was encouraging. I thought the offense was really bad, yet we scored 35. I feel like a game with 4 turnovers and 15 penalties is an anomaly. I can easily see us going the rest of the season without a 4 turnover or 15 penalty game, much less both in the same game. Injuries are worrisome. I know people say “next man up” and I don’t disagree, but you can’t pretend that starting a 3rd stingers doesn’t make you a weaker team, especially if you are doing that at multiple positions.
