  1. Because Tulane’s AD named the schools who had been in discussions with the PAC and he didn’t name us. I’d hardly call that an assumption.
  2. They’re not in our conference.
  3. When you saw the thread title and the poster, you knew.
  4. Underdog story: we were his one and only FBS offer. I’d say the odds were stacked against him in being successful at this level. Ambassador/leadership: I was always impressed with how he handled himself and I have to imagine he led by example with the hard work he put in to be successful. Now, neither of those things have anything to do with being a good QB and I didn’t say they did. As was stated previously, the question was, “Who ya got?”, so I was just stating reasons I feel like Mason is so well liked. Morris is obviously a better QB if you look at the things a scout looks at, but there are flops (think Ryan Leaf). I don’t think it’s going to happen, but if Morris were to be average the rest of the year, his quick release, pocket presence, and ability to read a defense don’t mean much.
  5. 12th in the G5: Good 5th in the AAC: Not as Good
  6. Sides played. One catch for 5 yards.
  7. I don’t know what statement to make. “Tulane, Memphis, UTSA, and South Florida discussed the feasibility of a move to the PAC. We were not asked to be involved in any of those conversations. We remain committed to the AAC.”
  8. Hahaha. Chad has made enough as a head coach to take care of Chandler.
  9. Barring injury, Sibley will be an all conference type back IMO. I just hope it happens at UNT.
  10. I’d be all for that. I was making the assumption that he wouldn’t come here for any position less than OC. Maybe a bad assumption.
  11. I like Graham a lot, but I think we’re doing okay at OC.
  12. Oddly enough, I think both of these can be correct to some degree. I feel like there are some who fit DentonLurkers description to a T, and others who are moreso just cautiously optimistic…which is understandable given our history. I find myself in this camp.
  13. It’ll be interesting. I have no inside knowledge whatsoever, but I just get the feeling he’s here for two years.
  14. I hate to see this. Graham was great at UNT and I thought he was a rising star in the coaching ranks. Plus, seems to be a great guy and he’s a local kid from Ennis.
  15. Dammit! That’s what I thought, but I swore the telecast said 3 play, 99 yard drive. I thought I’d missed a play.
  16. Ok, that’s an intentionally misleading thread title, but hear me out. First off, if you read this as me downplaying how bad the beatdown was in Lubbock then I’m not expressing what I mean very well. It was a bad, bad loss. Now, to my point. First off, I feel like Tech came to play against us. If they play like they did against us, they will win a lot of games this year, and I don’t think we’re beating them on that particular Saturday regardless. That being said, we made it waaaay easier than it should have been. The minute or so stretch where we missed a chip shot field goal and threw 3 interceptions (two of which were flukes and one of which was a pick 6) essentially ended the game. They were running the ball down our throats, but the game turned on our mistakes. Contrast that with last night. The game changed after they pinned us inside the one yard line and we went 99 yards in 3 plays. Yes, they also threw a pick during our 24 point outburst in the 2nd quarter, but it wasn’t a fluke interception. I guess my point is that we turned both of those games into blowouts. At Tech, our miscues turned the game and versus Tulsa, our making plays turned the game.
  17. I feel like I got a bargain reading that. Well stated.
  18. In each season of 2019, 2020, and 2022, we lost 4 games by 20+. In 2021 we lost 3 by 20+. I’m going to go ahead and predict that there is nothing that happens the rest of season that looks familiar to that. Upon further review, familiar to what, 2018? That’s our last winning season.
  19. Now that’s an HSO. Love it🤣🤣
  20. I noticed that as well. Glad you posted this because I meant to do so. Some crazy, odd stats.
  21. Part of what made Mason so great was that he was the ultimate underdog story. Add to that the leadership he showed and the fact that he was such a great ambassador for the university. He was just impossible not to root for. But yeah, Morris is off to a great start. I have to imagine he is the most highly ranked QB we’ve ever had based on his 4-star ranking out of high school.
  22. This may be the biggest knee jerk reaction ever on a forum that knows a thing or two about knee jerk reactions🤣🤣🤣 In two weeks we’ve gone from “Fire everyone” to “Best team ever.” I love this forum.
  23. I need to do a little research, but I wonder if a team has ever had (2) 99 yards drives in the same game?
  24. I think he was talking about the coaches.
