I feel like I’ve seen it a few times, but I could be wrong. Surely OkSt, TCU, Baylor, or Oregon have done it, right?

Memphis's Tyreek Smith Hits Portal Hours Before Opener
NT93 replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I agree with you from the talent standpoint, but I always question these type of guys. From Baton Rouge, but went to TC Cedar Hill. Signed with aTm, then went to SMU, then to Memphis, now to ??? No stability whatsoever and I think there’s a reason for that. Not sure what the reason is, but it’s not good. -
Army star QB Bryson Daily to miss game vs. Air Force
NT93 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
He’s a Texas boy from Abernathy, so this is about as close to home as he’ll get to play. -
Special arrangement, I believe that was part of the agreement for Army joining the AAC. They don’t play each other until after the conference championship game.
-
This isn’t unique to the Tulane game. Memphis and Texas Tech both started drives on our side of the field 3 times, plus Tech had a pick 6.
-
Pointing out that the offense isn’t blameless isn’t the same as saying they’re the issue.
-
They will trail in a game for the first time this season.

Army star QB Bryson Daily to miss game vs. Air Force

For reference, Wyoming beat Air Force 31-19. -

Army’s good, but not great. For those who complain that we haven’t beaten a team with a winning record, check out Army’s schedule. We’d be undefeated and either ranked or receiving votes with their schedule. I think they’ll be the 4th best team we’ve played this year.- 30 replies

You may not want me, but you’ve got at least one other person on that hill with you.
-
So you’re saying if Texas Tech had beaten us by a field goal that the general public wouldn’t view us more favorably? And I don’t know the attendance for the Wyoming game, but I bet it would have been much higher if the Tech game had been close.
-
I understand that, but I’d rather give up 45 and lose by 8 than give up 34 and lose by 31. I know I’m in the minority though. I also understand that you guys want to keep our offense and just have Charlotte’s defense (in this example), but that’s not the way it works. Also, our special teams that gave Tulane the ball inside the 25 didn’t help either. So I guess we probably should wish we had Charlotte’s special teams as well.
-
Tulane beats us by 8 and Charlotte by 31 and the takeaway is that Charlotte has a better defense than us?
-
This is the first thought I had. I’d always said “no,” but a poster on here made me look at it differently. If Jamario’s career had gone in reverse and his freshman season was his senior season, he’s a no-brainer. But, that wasn’t the case, so it’s debatable. As for Chandler, I say no to anyone who only played one year, no matter how great the season.

Should Caponi be fired at the end of the season?
NT93 replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
If the only two choices are that or hire LaTech’s DC, I’ll say yes. -
I feel like any true competitor would look back on the decision with regret. Yeah, they made some good money, but they missed out on a season or two of playing college football and possibly being in the UNT Hall of Fame. Plus, though unlikely, their chance of going to the NFL would be better than zero.
-
Not sure that UCF doing it makes it a best practice.
-
Same as last year. Please no one take this as making excuses because I’m not, but two years in a row of 3 games in a row against arguably the top 3 teams in the conference is doing us no favors.

Should Caponi be fired at the end of the season?
NT93 replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Since they got hired in Dec (maybe Jan for Caponi), we have probably paid 22 of the 24 mos of the contract. Just speculation on my part though. -
****OFFICIAL TULANE VS UNT IN-GAME DISCUSSION****
NT93 replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree with everything you said except the part about Texas St being better than us. -
You may be right, but I thought a lot of people were predicting a losing record or around .500. We need to dig up the “Get Your Rear on Record” thread.
-
I took this as joke…a pretty good one IMO🤣

****OFFICIAL TULANE VS UNT IN-GAME DISCUSSION****
NT93 replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
This! This! This! I said it last week, but if your defense is a liability, you have to try and help them, not put them in difficult situations. I wish we could put together some time-consuming drives like the 16 play drive in the 4th quarter (when, ironically, we needed to score fast). -
Honestly, that’s most, or at least many, bowl teams.

We’re kind of getting away from NIL and getting into total budget, but my question is, and this is a serious question that I don’t know the answer to: Is there a proven correlation between the money spent and wins? I’m talking about comparing P-4 to P-4 and G-5 to G-5.
