  1. Agreed!! Did anyone catch the Dan Mullen interview last weekend? Very appropriate for UNT. Everyone at Miss. St. was saying they needed to win to get fans to the game, but he said it was the opposite. He held the theory that if the fans would come and support the team, give home field advantage, etc., that the wins would come. Could be coincidence, but he seems prophetic.
  2. I wasn't saying we won't win again, but it's a distinct possibility. I left the game yesterday thinking, "We're just not very good." A hard realization for me, but the truth.
  3. That was the craziest, most basic fake punt I've ever seen. He just ran right down the middle of the field untouched. Their coaches obviously saw how we set up for a punt return and exploited it. How were we not even considering a possible fake punt considering their field position?
  4. A little off topic, but if I recall correctly we would have really given them all they could handle if not for a pitiful "excessive celebration" penalty right before the half. Ended up having to kick-off from the 20 and they got good field position and scored before halftime. I agree that Dodge seemed to be dogged with injuries at least one year. We were on our 3rd string QB I believe. How many teams can win with their 3rd string QB? Few, if any.
  5. I agree it's very important to get a win, but I consider a "must-win" game just that, a game you MUST win. If we lose, its still possible to win 6 games and go to a bowl, so I don't consider this a "must-win." I don't mean this as argumentative and to be honest, most people would probably agree with you from the standpoint of the season could really go downhill with a loss. I basically just think "must-win" is overused.
  6. True And true. 41-38 UNT
  7. Who had you rather have at QB? Legitimate question...and sad for UT, especially considering they are from the same recruiting class.
  8. I think it's the tricked up uniforms. Fans don't want to look at that crap.
  9. What did I say to insinuate that I didn't think we'd be an underdog to UAB? My entire post was about Indiana. Someone was talking about Indiana being a mediocre team and I simply stated that they would be at least a 14 point favorite over anyone left on our schedule and that they could probably contend for any G5 conference. How that's a "homer evaluation" is beyond me...unless I'm being an Indiana homer.
  10. They also beat Missouri. And while I'm not saying Bowling Green is a powerhouse, they are 4-2 so they're not terrible. I personally think any bowl game in a rebuilding year would qualify as OK.
  11. While this may be true, show me who's left on our schedule who's not at least a 14 point underdog to this "mediocre team." They are not mediocre by G5 standards. I dare say they would be in position to win any G5 conference.
  12. Winning and recruiting go hand in hand to a large extent. I'd like to see a schedule something like this: AAC school (which will be SMU for the next 9 years) FCS school or G5 also ran (Idaho, NM St., etc) MAC school P5 also ran (Indiana, Vanderbilt, Kansas, etc)
  13. Agreed! Great points. I think IU is a team that will look good one week and not so good the next as they've already shown this year. Unfortunately, we caught them on a good week. As mentioned, they took some chances today that obviously worked out, but could have backfired and made for an entirely different game. Tip of the hat to them for making the plays today. Regardless of how good or bad anyone thinks Indiana is, they are probably the best team we will play the rest of the year.
  14. This. As far as taking chances, as Barry Switzer once said, "Sometimes you have to have a plan for losing." Late in game, down 18 points, what's the point in taking chances that could turn it into a 35 point loss or worse and extending the game? If Indiana didn't punch it in with 30 seconds left (which I thought was pretty bush league), the score would have been somewhat respectable...especially considering the first 5 minutes or so of the game.
  15. The great Patrick Cobbs in the photo, no?
  16. Our helmets look better than any of those. Some of them are just God-awful.
  17. Debatable. I'd still like to think UNT, UTSA, and Rice could handle the Bobcats.
  18. Drop Texas St. to #10 and I don't have a problem with any of the others.
  19. I bet he doesn't have a better game the rest of the season. He was lights out against us. And of course that little QB thing we had going on had something to do with the loss. We might not have beaten them, but it would have been a lot closer than 42-21. That being said, still shocked that they lost today.
  20. Is that the flag that was stolen from pollock? j/k man. Stinks that it was taken and I hope you get it back.
  21. That would be more demoralizing than the LaTech loss.
  22. First place I ever bought groceries on my own. I still remember feeling a little weird pushing the cart down the aisles. I mean, grocery shopping is what my mom did. Will definitely help the overall appearance for it to be gone.
  23. I don't mean this being a smart-***, but it shouldn't change too much since teams are about to get into conference play. There can't be too many games left against other G5 conferences, can there?
  24. He's supposed to wait until after playing UNT.
  25. I know there was a thread about this a while back, but I wasn't able to locate it. Anyway, I was in Stonebriar Mall the other day and both Dick's and Fanzz had UNT t-shirts. Dick's only had one, a white Under Armour for $35. Fanzz had two, a green one and a gray one that were $15 each. Just thought I'd pass along the info in case anyone was interested. Still wanting to check out Rally House in Plano, but I haven't made it yet.
