  1. I almost posted that I don't mind the occasional "special" uniform. I just don't like the different uniform each week. Doesn't make it right or wrong, just my opinion. I actually like the black uniforms. Helmets were ok, but I'd prefer just a black helmet with the green SOW. The main thing for me is to stick to the school colors. Baylor, Oregon, Texas Tech, Okla St., and others sometimes wear uniforms that don't even have their school colors. There's just a point of it becoming "look how differnt and wild our uniforms are." I admittedly haven't kept close tabs on UTSA, but I'm unaware of them wearing different uniforms every game. They've had the same helmets every time I've seen them, but that's not saying much. Having said all that, I haven't seen near as many tricked up uniforms so far this year. I don't really understand your last point. So you're saying if you don't wear tricked up uniforms you're not serious about being the best?
  2. I agree that there are more pressing issues than uniforms, but how many DW threads can we beat to death? As far as tricked up uniforms go those aren't bad 3XL, but I sure hope nothing like that ever sees the playing field. No offense to you, I just prefer to pick a uniform and stick with it. in addition to the fact that I don't like them, it seems like a waste of money to have so many uniforms and helmets. Since there are two of us in this thread with differing veiws who think we're in the minority, which is it? Do most of you prefer to have a traditional uniform or a "new age" uniform?
  3. Personally I'm not idolizing or suggesting he belongs in the HOF, but I do think he's earned a little slack considering what he's done for the program. We were one of the worst teams in the nation before he got here. Doesn't mean I think he's without faults, just that it's better being a Mean Green fan now than it was 4 years ago. I just think it's very premature to start a "Get rid of Mac" campaign. (Not that you're suggesting it, but others seem to think we'd be better off without him). And you always have to think, "Who are we going to bring in that's better?" I do agree with the last sentence in both your first and last paragraph. As a matter of fact, if we finish with 5 wins or less, he looses some of that slack I mentioned earlier. If he does it two years in a row, he might be out of slack. Indeed, time will tell.
  4. i thought I was in the minority for hating them
  5. I agree with your entire post.
  6. I have zero knowledge of anything DW may or may not have done, but if he's still on the team (which he is) and he's the best option (which he is) he should be playing (which he's not). The choices seem obvious: 1. Play him 2. Supend him 3. Kick him off the team (Options 2 and 3 certainly don't seem realistic based anything I've seen or heard) As I stated in another thread, I don't think necessarily think he's going to be a savior, but surely he can't do any worse.
  7. Please, please, please, not Baylor or Oregon. I love the black ones. Not tricked up to me and no one hates the tricked up uni more than I do. In regards to everyone commenting on how much they liked the uniforms , weren't they the same that they've worn a few times? I thought only the helmet was different and it was only slightly different than the HOD bowl helmets.
  8. I've seen enough to know you have to go with DW. It's so painfully, agonizingly obvious. Not saying DW will be some type of saviour, but we will NOT win with Greer. I've seen all the fluttering passes I can stand from a D1 QB.
  9. How about some advertising? Maybe something on the sports talk radio stations? Ads in the Dallas News and on dallasnews.com. I think that's one thing that got people to the HOD game. There were ads in the paper promoting the game for a few weeks leading up to the game. You have to do whatever it takes to fill the stands when the game is on national TV. $10 tickets, $5 tickets, free tickets. Who cares just get people in the stadium and hopefully make a little on them at the concession stand. If people are sitting at home watching the game and see a packed stadium they are more likely to come to a future game and check it out for themselves. When they see a half empty stadium, they're not coming to a future game...period.
  10. Very impressed with La Tech. Skocol was obviously brilliant tonight. Return guys were slippery. Good receivers. Running back is a load to bring down. Defense was solid. A good showing all the way around.
  11. I agree that it's mainly a QB issue. If Greer hits Kidsy on the play in the first half it's probably a touchdown and a different game. It was not a difficult pass. And yes, I'm boiling this whole 42-21 beatdown into one pass that wasn't made. Do we win if he hits that pass? Probably not, but it's a different game. And there were onthers, that one was just the biggest. For the record, I've been in Greer's corner up until this point.
  12. I may be in the minority here, but why not get some uni's and stick with them? Baylor, Tech, Okie St., Oregon...the list goes on. You never know what they're going to be wearing and it's usually not good. thankfully all of UNT's alternate uniforms have been pretty cool and not too wild. Guess I'm just getting too old.
  13. Game, point, match!!!
  14. I don't know that I'd call it a rivalry, but it should be a game that's a little bigger on the schedule based on the geographical locations alone. I think it would be great if UNT/SMU/TCU each played one another. Obviously TCU has a leg up on both programs now, but it's all somewhat cyclical.
  15. I don't get it either and I'm not able to go to the game. Guess I'll be listening to the great George Dunham and Hank Dickinson.
  16. hahaha I like that better than my list!!!
  17. My list: 1. Baylor 2. ATM 3. TCU 4. UTSA 5. Texas 6. Texas Tech 7. UNT 8. Houston 9. Rice 10. UTEP 11. SMU 12. Texas St. Baylor and ATM are obvious. Based on what we've seen so far UTSA is #3, but I can't believe they are better than TCU (or UT or Tech). The Texas team that UNT played is #3, but the one that played BYU is over-ranked here at #5. Tech has been very unimpressive. Rice may be too low and SMU may be too high.
