The great Patrick Cobbs in the photo, no?

Our helmets look better than any of those. Some of them are just God-awful. -
Debatable. I'd still like to think UNT, UTSA, and Rice could handle the Bobcats.

Drop Texas St. to #10 and I don't have a problem with any of the others.

LaTech tied with 1AA NW St at 27 with 1 minute left

I bet he doesn't have a better game the rest of the season. He was lights out against us. And of course that little QB thing we had going on had something to do with the loss. We might not have beaten them, but it would have been a lot closer than 42-21. That being said, still shocked that they lost today. -
Is that the flag that was stolen from pollock? j/k man. Stinks that it was taken and I hope you get it back.

Is there a prediction thread yet? Can I make on?

That would be more demoralizing than the LaTech loss. -
First place I ever bought groceries on my own. I still remember feeling a little weird pushing the cart down the aisles. I mean, grocery shopping is what my mom did. Will definitely help the overall appearance for it to be gone.

I don't mean this being a smart-***, but it shouldn't change too much since teams are about to get into conference play. There can't be too many games left against other G5 conferences, can there?
-
He's supposed to wait until after playing UNT.

I know there was a thread about this a while back, but I wasn't able to locate it. Anyway, I was in Stonebriar Mall the other day and both Dick's and Fanzz had UNT t-shirts. Dick's only had one, a white Under Armour for $35. Fanzz had two, a green one and a gray one that were $15 each. Just thought I'd pass along the info in case anyone was interested. Still wanting to check out Rally House in Plano, but I haven't made it yet.

And Mark Schlabach has us against Houston in the Armed Forces Bowl. At this point I'd be happy with either of those destinations.

That's the exact moment I said to my wife, "He has to be the starter next game."

MeanGreen01: after my first post and your reply I would have never thought that we would actually agree, but I think we might I do understand everything you said, I just hope we can get that attention without having to wear something too crazy. I think what we are wearing now is very cool. The "North Texas" helmets pretty much said "we are an insigificant directional school," so the new SOW helmets are a big improvement. Mix in the black a couple of times a year and I think we're doing a good job of looking sharp. Ben Gooding: the all white might look really good. I also agree with you about getting a base home and away uniform and sticking with it. Quit changing every few years.
-
Nothing I can disagree with there. Again, I really like the black uniforms. i just don't want to be over the top. BUT if you told me wearing Oregon-esque uniforms would have UNT ranked in the Top 10, I'd help pay for them.
-
Accurate definition. When I say traditional I was meaning more like "not overtly tricked up," not "uniforms like Penn St." My opinion: Chrome: Possibly the worst thing you can do to a helmet. Matte: I like them Black: Most schools can get away with black. Just needs to incorporate your actual school colors. Large log: Not a fan Black logo on black helmet: Terrible Numbers that are almost the same color as the uniform: Not a fan Buffalo on Friday night looked pretty good except for the fact that you could barely see the logo on the helmet. Just opinions. I like getting others point of view.

I've actually been watching quite a bit. Maybe I'm just watching good programs who don't need to trick up their uniforms. Or maybe we just have different opinions on what constitutes a tricked up uniform. I watched UTSA vs Houston and I agree that they looked sharp. To me there is a big differnce between Baylor shiny gold helmets and what UTSA or UNT has worn.
-
I almost posted that I don't mind the occasional "special" uniform. I just don't like the different uniform each week. Doesn't make it right or wrong, just my opinion. I actually like the black uniforms. Helmets were ok, but I'd prefer just a black helmet with the green SOW. The main thing for me is to stick to the school colors. Baylor, Oregon, Texas Tech, Okla St., and others sometimes wear uniforms that don't even have their school colors. There's just a point of it becoming "look how differnt and wild our uniforms are." I admittedly haven't kept close tabs on UTSA, but I'm unaware of them wearing different uniforms every game. They've had the same helmets every time I've seen them, but that's not saying much. Having said all that, I haven't seen near as many tricked up uniforms so far this year. I don't really understand your last point. So you're saying if you don't wear tricked up uniforms you're not serious about being the best?
-
I agree that there are more pressing issues than uniforms, but how many DW threads can we beat to death? As far as tricked up uniforms go those aren't bad 3XL, but I sure hope nothing like that ever sees the playing field. No offense to you, I just prefer to pick a uniform and stick with it. in addition to the fact that I don't like them, it seems like a waste of money to have so many uniforms and helmets. Since there are two of us in this thread with differing veiws who think we're in the minority, which is it? Do most of you prefer to have a traditional uniform or a "new age" uniform?

Personally I'm not idolizing or suggesting he belongs in the HOF, but I do think he's earned a little slack considering what he's done for the program. We were one of the worst teams in the nation before he got here. Doesn't mean I think he's without faults, just that it's better being a Mean Green fan now than it was 4 years ago. I just think it's very premature to start a "Get rid of Mac" campaign. (Not that you're suggesting it, but others seem to think we'd be better off without him). And you always have to think, "Who are we going to bring in that's better?" I do agree with the last sentence in both your first and last paragraph. As a matter of fact, if we finish with 5 wins or less, he looses some of that slack I mentioned earlier. If he does it two years in a row, he might be out of slack. Indeed, time will tell.

i thought I was in the minority for hating them
-
I agree with your entire post.

I have zero knowledge of anything DW may or may not have done, but if he's still on the team (which he is) and he's the best option (which he is) he should be playing (which he's not). The choices seem obvious: 1. Play him 2. Supend him 3. Kick him off the team (Options 2 and 3 certainly don't seem realistic based anything I've seen or heard) As I stated in another thread, I don't think necessarily think he's going to be a savior, but surely he can't do any worse.
-
Please, please, please, not Baylor or Oregon. I love the black ones. Not tricked up to me and no one hates the tricked up uni more than I do. In regards to everyone commenting on how much they liked the uniforms , weren't they the same that they've worn a few times? I thought only the helmet was different and it was only slightly different than the HOD bowl helmets.

I've seen enough to know you have to go with DW. It's so painfully, agonizingly obvious. Not saying DW will be some type of saviour, but we will NOT win with Greer. I've seen all the fluttering passes I can stand from a D1 QB.
