I think the thread title is misleading on a couple of levels. 1). The first family is the sitting President’s family😆 2) This is a picture at departure, arrival pic below. Still not formally dressed, but why should they be? If his wife wore this to the introductory press conference I could see the issue, but they just rode in a plane from Cleveland. Honestly, they’re dressed as well as our AD in this picture, so there’s that. Surely there are better things to nitpick.

PAC soon on the Prowl again for more Football members...

I’ve always been against moving out west, but not this time. As several people have already said in some form or another, we need to be proactive instead of reactive. Your random basketball junkie will come to see us play Gonzaga for sure. Give them an entertaining game and they might come back to watch us instead of our opponent. -

Yep. Innocent until proven guilty is a rare thing. -

Just keeps getting more ridiculous.

Free concessions at Coastal Carolina home games

Exactly. You buy a beer or two because the food was free. You buy the kid an ice cream because the food was free. Pretty soon you’ve spent as much as you would have spent on the food. -
Reminds me of when my son was in about 5th grade. He was a good athlete, but not a good basketball player. A mom was putting together a “select” team and asked my son to play (even though I told her he wasn’t very good). Not only was this not a true select team, but they signed us up in the highest level league in Plano. This video reminds me of those games. I think the first game was something like 80-15 and it didn’t get much better until they let up drop down a couple of levels.🤣🤣🤣.

Probably means he’s smarter than most of us on gmg🤣

I feel like the Hohn 3 pointer as the shot clock was expiring with about 3-4 minutes left was the dagger. Similar to the prayer 3 pointer by UAB in the conference tournament. When shots like that fall for you, it’s just your night.

It realty begs the question - Do some of them go to class? Cooper Flagg is making almost $5mil this year and will enter the NBA draft after the season. Is he really going to class at Duke? Exception to rule of course, but the point stands.

Any idea what assistants Coach Danny will hire?

My wish list for Coach Danny’s staff: Coach Kwanza Coach Phil Coach Jace Coach Andre Coach Jay Coach Matthew as a GA -
Hahaha. Much better than Coach Danny.

How about Coach Robinson?
-
Agreed. I’ve seen people call our football coach “Coach Eric.” I’ve said this before, but that’s what my kids called their youth league coaches. It’s so cheesy to address a professional coach that way.
-
Ridiculous. The goal of a college athlete is to go pro, but now they can make more money by NOT going pro. That’s an f’ed up system.
-
Thank you. I think most of those guys are similar to what we got, but I can understand why someone would prefer one of them over Robinson.
-
I get it, but it’s kind of an odd argument considering we might have hired him if we were hiring before USF. Can we get an example of someone who was actually available?

Daniyal Robinson Named UNT Basketball Head Coach

At least it doesn’t have “To The Pit” under Welcome🤣🤣🤣 -
For those disappointed or underwhelmed by this hire, I’d also love to see who you think we could have had. We got a coach who has had 3 consecutive 20 win seasons at a mid major that’s a notch or two below us. Additionally, it seems as though he plays a style of ball that we’ve found successful over the past several years. Obviously success isn’t guaranteed, but this seems like a solid hire.
-
For sure…that’s a long list of great players. I think that also played into wanting Texas teams to win to show kids they didn’t have to go out of state to win. This is a moot point nowadays. I couldn’t tell you how many TT of UH players are from Texas.
-
I think part of it stems from when Texas colleges generally had players from Texas high schools. As Texans, we wanted to see other Texans be successful. Just a state pride thing.
-
I’m rooting for either Houston or Duke, but I hate the SEC more than most people.

I don’t really see how this is underwhelming. 3 consecutive 20 win seasons in the Horizon, which I don’t know much about except Oakland won a game or two last year in the Tourney and Robert Morris gave Bama all they wanted this year. Seems like a better hire than most other names I’ve seen mentioned…coaches with little to no HC experience with a mid-major. I’ll support this hire until it proves to be a bad one.

And now I get to watch the Final Four…at least one game of it. Cheering for Houston and Michigan State tomorrow.
