I don’t want to throw any district under the bus, but I used to work at a Dallas area school district who would have done something like this. This district is not known for success in sports as a general rule, especially in the past 10-20 years. Now, do you think Southlake Carroll or Allen would give up home court advantage in the playoffs because of something like this?

Yes it was. I’m glad they won. Didn’t want to face UAB again. I feel like they’re so familiar with us that our defense doesn’t throw them off their game like it does other teams. And honestly, I felt like UAB was the better team.

I don’t think the luncheon had anything to do with him leaving, but I don’t think there’s any doubt that it could affect the pool of potential candidates to replace him.

I bet we get a lot of interest from some great candidates since coaches around the country see how committed our administration is to athletics.

Maybe an odd observation, but I thought Atin Wright probably won us the game in the final minute simply because they refused to foul him. Anybody else goes to the line and only makes 1 of 2, or worse yet, misses both and the result may well have been different. I don’t think I’ve ever seen quite that situation where a team refuses to foul an opposing player even though they need to stop the clock. Now, I don’t think that makes him HOF worthy, but I do think it made him somewhat of an unsung hero tonight.
