  1. People who point fingers at RV for the reason we have been losing for 10 years. He's not even half the problem. I'm not repeating myself.
  2. No man, I'm trying to get across that we are in no way shape or form able to compete against a P5. We need to build a momentum of winning. I was using the 2014 team as an example, because I see many future teams at UNT just like it, if we have 4-8 seasons every year.... And gradumacated, i can't argue on the fact that those SBC teams and other CUSA teams are getting P5's to come to their home and NT is not. Maybe if we had a 2013 year consistently, RV could shove in the P5's face and use that as a incentive of playing us at home?
  3. I completely agree with you, but can you really see us beating a P5 team with something like our 2014 team? I sure can't. You have to start with weaker opponents to beat up on, building our confidence, attracting recruits, so you play the big dogs and win or at least keep a close game with them. Do you want to see UNT get massacred on national TV in front of our home crowd being unprepared?
  4. THANK YOU! This guy gets it, that's what I have been saying all along. When we win, people want to come out. Hell, sometimes I'm on that bandwagon of going out to see UNT steam roll a cupcake FCS teams or last place teams. I have said it before and will say it again. A good majority of casual (football uneducated fans) just go when word around town is UNT is a winning team. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of winning. And future college football players like being recruited to winning teams. I wouldn't mind having The occasional OSU or Kansas State come to Apogee when we are winning. But when we are 3-6 and thirsty for a win, losing keeps the crowd away when we play our conference games.
  5. I get that Portland State is probably the lamest game possible to play here at home, or better yet wherever we play. But what happened to the old TCU talk? Where they scheduled weaker opponents to build up the momentum and UNT needs to do something like that? Or what about what about the whole talk of people coming out to see a winning team and they some fans don't necessarily care about the opponent? And if these games count towards bowl eligibility, then let's just look forward to playing in a good bowl game. We play Iowa and Tennessee next year. Say what you want, but I think NT needs this Portland State game.
  6. Dang, talk about a slap in the face... I wish the UAB players the best in continuing their career in football.
  7. Well according to all the news stories I'm seeing, it looks like UAB football is closing business for sure. Can anyone tell me how CUSA goes about selecting another university to take their spot? I'm not familiar with the politics side in football. http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=11967626&src=desktop&rand=ref~%7B%22ref%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F%22%7D http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/12/uab_president_ray_watts_expect.html
  8. I think it's worth picking up one of these, especially since UNT plays Iowa and Tennessee next year. We need the wins.
  9. I totally agree 90
  10. I'll never forget when we beat a 0-12 Nicholls Stare team too!............ Seriously though, i can't see why we should take pride in beating these teams. We barely squeaked past FIU (a team I heard didn't deserve to be in CUSA) according to a article that was posted on GMG. The only legitimate prideful win was FAU... Where is the respect in that?
  11. I'm with a lot of people and want to see a new OC. Obviously, we need to pick up a knowledgable DC. But we need the recruiting to get better, I think a QB is where we need to start.
  12. We beat hands down, the worst team in the country. I don't take that much pride in that win anymore.
  13. My first impression of you guys was ruined by the unsportsmanlike attitude your players brought to Apogee last year. I still clearly remember sitting in the student section and watching your players flipping off our crowd. Then I was told by a friend after they beat us and the game was over, that the players ran back out on the field and flipped off the crowd again. So to add to this topic, it doesn't surprise me one bit that UTSA fans acted the way some of you described.
  14. I'm pretty frustrated, but expected it to happen, our team this season drained a lot out of me hoping I could see change. But now that the season is over, the record shows that this team was bad. I can't quite comprehend why Mac has to be a stubborn guy with QB situation. And besides UT Austin, I thought this was the most important win for this team this season. But it didn't happen, and I'm still frustrated that we got beat by a team twice in a row, that has had a football team that is 90 something years younger then UNT's. Something needs to be done to bring this team from this curse, but right now it looks unpromising.
  15. I bought that groupon too, great deal! GMG!
  16. It's funny, because It's like Mac can't trust McNulty to throw it. So we'll just run on 3rd downs and then punt.
  17. Guess we'll have a season full of sacks and interceptions then. I thought QB's try to get us touchdowns?...
  18. You are correct, but let's start somewhere first, I feel like the QB position isn't a bad start.
  19. I just can't see why McNulty would be our starting QB next year, the dude has nothing to offer. With the option of bringing someone else on as QB.... I wish he would quit, and do us all a favor..
  20. We are playing UTEP... Jesus.... Not a P5 or powerhouse school.
  21. I'm going to reiterate what someone said earlier, and say that we are losing to a team that we completely destroyed last year. And we aren't just losing, we are getting shut out!
  22. Yes sir, I want us to win more games. But the way we've been playing it's hard to ignore. We'll figure it out in time. It may be 2015, but NT will bounce back!
  23. I have nothing else to argue for these guys. I am a hard core mean green fan until I die. But this is just not our year.... I'm happy we didn't allow a blow out this game though, much easier loss to take, but a loss is a loss.... GMG!
  24. I just wanted to shout out rally house in Flower Mound. Probably hands down the best place I've bought North Texas stuff at. I managed to get the last flag on the shelf too. The employee said they are usually the first to go when they come in. Anyways if any one is looking for gear or tailgate stuff, I highly recommend Rally House!
  25. Thank you NTEX91, I joined this board this year and have been reading GMG.com since October of 2013. I didn't get to catch the beginning, where 2013's season was being said by lots of people on the board as a down season. All I know is, it's okay to be frustrated. But seriously y'all, we have six more games left. People wanting to fire coach Mac and are pointing fingers everywhere. But I refuse to give up. And especially on our coach. Do you really think we could have had the success we did last year with our previous coach? I'm going to the NT game Saturday, to support my favorite college football team in the nation, I'm rallying up every friend I have and know that UNT can salvage somewhat of a respect this season. Even if they lose, keeping it close is respectable. I don't want to call anyone out, but some of the things I read this morning was absolutely ridiculous that was said about our coach and giving up on the team. I know we will see a positive starting Saturday. I'm calling it right now!
