Are you serious? Maybe you should be replaced as a mean green fan. Go be a Arkansas State Red Wolf fan or UTSA fan if you give up on UNT. Contact the university president or something and make yourself useful rather then bitch on here about us being worthless for going to UNT.

I just sent a extensive email voicing my concern for our athletics future. Hope he read it, because I had a lot to say to him. The basketball program is crumbling in front of our eyes and our football team is going through droughts. I told him that someone needs to be accountable and in my opinion, that is RV.

I know they don't care about us and they never will. But hey, it's all about who is most popular right? Who has the most influence in CFB. The day college football gives each conference champion a shot, is the day the national championship game will be fair to every football team in the FBS...... And yes I know, it will never happen....

I know I'm echoing other people, but why can't the champions of each conference battle it out for the championship game? I may sound completely uneducated on the rules. But it makes the most logical sense to me...

A system that makes sense, since a successful G5 won't ever stand a chance in a P5 dominant football league.

0-12 and lost to us when we played duck chucking Greer. All they have is a new coach and that's what it took? Boy, I have so much to say to our recruiters and have lost faith in the mentality of some football players...

If y'all are talking Missouri, what about Arkansas? They are playing UTEP and La Tech the next two years. I know they play in Fayetteville and Little Rock. They are bottom of the pack SEC and a lot of fans are here in DFW that would go to Denton like Mizzou fans. I don't know their history on traveling to G5 stadiums though...

Yet a program (UTSA) only had a football team for two years and they deserved to be in a conference with these many decades old teams? I don't buy that excuse that TX State hasn't earned the right to be in CUSA for being FBS for 2 years, when we got a 4 year old team like UTSA and a wart of the conference FIU. I agree with you though, that Texas conference would be cool, but it won't happen like you said. The very least TX State could come in and build up the CUSA west Texas dominated conference.

It's because of the competitiveness and fan base ULL has, ULL packs their stadium and I would guess they travel well. When we beat them in 2012 at apogee our attendance was a little over 17,000 though. Kind of half stadium... It didn't help that we had a losing season though. A lot of y'all don't agree with TX State. I'm curious as to why you wouldn't want them to join CUSA?

ULaLa screams the best overall and logical choice, but I am like you and would have to agree with you on that TX State drive, 4 hours vs. 7. I bet the tailgating at both schools are great as well.

I can see that, see I'm sure a majority of us UNT fans would rather be in the AAC. But like someone said earlier, I think CUSA should reach out to NIU and see what the response would be. There could be that chance they are interested.

Thanks for pointing those out. Sounds like a no brainer for sure.

I've seen mention of Northern Illinois in some articles, because they aren't happy with the MAC. Don't think geography wise for the west though? But TX State would be a sweet addition. Maybe we could somehow cleanse the conference of FIU and pick up Louisiana Lafayette and Texas State.

Serious question Cerebus, and I do accept your explanation on how somebody isn't doing the job right. But how do you expect us to repair a long time losing seasons stretch? If RV somehow got fired, then I can see us making those drastic changes and jobs getting done right. But the reality is RV is staying and I think that the only option we have left is to play these bottom feeder teams. I wish we didn't have to, but how will we rack up wins to get those recruits when our staff can't bring them in?

I get that man, I think we'll have our own opinions on this. Reality is that it's sucks we are playing Portland State or Nicholls State. I'm 100% on board about that. But if we have a 2014 type team in 2015. How do you expect us to go 6-6, 7-5, 8,4 and go to a bowl this year? Who do you expect us to beat man? How do you expect us to catch casual fans attention when we can't beat a P5? How do we get kids to want to be recruited by UNT? But like I said before, we'll agree to disagree on this.

An honest answer to you question would be, "I don't know." If we have winning seasons, I would hope 5 years tbh. It's not going to happen next year or the year after. But we will see results slowly each season. I don't think in 10 years we'll be on the same level of Alabama or Florida State, if that helps?

Who would you rather win? Our opponents or UNT? Because, I don't see scheduling a P5 coming to Denton to put us to sleep an answer to our problems right now. In the future, yes, after we have established ourselves as a winning program and have built up our recruits. I would then definitely like to see us quiet some P5's.....
