***Official UNT vs. UTSA Game Thread***
GreenTexan13 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
UNT always playing down to their opponents... we finally won in San Antonio though. -
Just as a refresher, does anyone remember or know when they start making bowl invitations and announcements? More particularly, the bowls we have been projected in.
-
That place seats 64,000 people too.. That place is going to look sorry. At least we're taking over SA for the weekend haha
-
The narrator was saying "UPDATE: a couple days ago the stadium was knocked down, with a few swift kicks to it's foundation" I drove through Denton last Saturday and it was still there, the way it was the last couple of years. Did they flatten it completely yet?
-
I get that. And we would all support them if this was what they wanted. Just hoping they can go to a bowl we can travel too, I'd prefer not to watch the game on TV this year and actually go see it in person. Hawaii is to expensive.
-
This might sound selfish.. But goodbye to any hopes of being able to cheer, tailgate, and converge with fellow mean green fans in person for live football...
-
Yeah, hopefully this is an evening game. Regardless, Houston will be the best traveling fanbase for 2019. UNT fans need to prepare, because there will be an overlap in red all over the stadium.

A lot of BYU vs. North Texas. I wonder if a lot of sites just piggy back off ESPN projections? BYU in Dallas is the best choice I've seen in the last couple weeks.

DRC: Five thoughts on UNT's win over Florida Atlantic
GreenTexan13 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Exactly, and kudos to the offense for beating FAU at their own strength. I was listening to the post game show on my drive home from the game last night and heard that Torrey doubled the yards Singletary had. -
No thanks to the G5 playoff. Like most of you said, that divides the 2 further. If it was truly fair they would have all conference champions go to a playoff and battle it out to the final two. But then P5 conferences would gripe about the G5ers not playing a tough schedule like they do or they would be afraid they play the season perfect and get upset in the playoff by a G5. If it were ever possible, I wish they could structure a playoff system to include 1-2 G5 teams as a wild card. But then the argument cycle starts all over again...
-
Still have yet to beat them in Alamo town. Like everyone else said, this is their bowl game. UTSA fans are melting down and the one's that have accepted that they are whipping boys have made it loud and clear that the year could be made up for if they beat UNT. KFC will be going down 11/24. This is UNT's first win in SA.

That's a hard one to say. Because the game was close all 4 quarters going back and forth. If I had to stick with my honest opinion.. yes, this changed the game in our favor. We stopped passing and started running. Quinn is effing fast, and the defense had a hard time adjusting to his pace. Mason still did all the work, but Shan the man really chopped up the defense for Fine to come back in a wrap up the game.
-
Damn Quinn has some wheels, dude is making the defense look like syrup!
-
Right, We need to rage it up. Revenge for last year! GO MEAN GREEN!

It is over my head on how the bowl pick process works. New Orleans is not a bad bowl game, but NT deserved to be in the Independence bowl over Southern Miss and that was a real punch in the gut. Politics ruins college football, and that stems from bowl games, conferences, to playoffs. I agree, And for some reason we always get ALMOST a good bowl game. Opponent and location never align.. If we got a Dallas bowl and and well traveling P5 or respectful near location G5.. Color me shocked!
-
Yeah, I remember hearing the team chose NO. Which I don't blame them from playing in HOD the year before. What sucks was S. Miss taking the Independence and playing Florida State.. That was complete crap. If ESPN wants the biggest crowd for SERVPRO, they need to take North Texas vs. a Big Ten/P5. Unfortunately we always get shafted with our opponents. UNLV was a decent team, but that was a let down of a traveling fanbase. And honestly, we were all hoping our '13 team could have been tested.. We could have easily sold over 65,000 tickets if the opponent was a P5.

***OFFICIAL UNT vs. Old Dominion Game Thread***

Not sure if we're cursed or what. This was beyond unacceptable. I'll be going to Thursday's game and still cheer on our team, because it's my passion to support this team. But all my drive to defend this team is gone. If we lose Thursday I'm so beat down to get upset. What a roller coaster of a year.. -

Which is worse? ESPN broadcast? UNT choking? -
Exactly why I think this could be a possibility. At best they go 6-6.. And this would actually be a reward for such a downer of a season. TCU fans would surely go because it is a homer, UNT fans attend the Dallas bowl well and will be even more drawn to our opponent. Touche' This would be the all time best seller/attendance of this bowl game. One can only hope this would be a reality..
