  1. Looks like we have to bring a clear green bag, for those people who have kids and bring stuff inside the stadium. http://www.smumustangs.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082015aag.html
  2. I do not want to say SMU is a confirmed win for us. However, I disagree that they are going to win for sure. I do not think SMU is going to have a good season. They have a lot to work on, and some things just happen overnight. (I am not saying that we do not have a lot of flaws to work on as well) I will bet money that we win, and I think it might be a nail biter close game. We are going to really rely on our special teams and defensive turnovers this game.
  3. I forgot to add, we play these two teams this season. So we need to beat these guys and prove the preseason critics wrong. If there are any games that are going to be a slap in the preseaon ranker's face, It would be against WKU and Marshall for UNT.
  4. I clicked on the article, expecting to see the typical OU v. UT, Bama v. Auburn, OK State v. UT games, and came across a CUSA game listed in the article. I didn't realize the score of last year's game. I might have to watch this year's CUSA East game, only because its the night before UNT's game and it won't interfere on my mean green game day plans! "Marshall at Western Kentucky, Nov. 27. The score last year: 67-66. The winner: WKU, which went for two and for the win, and in the process handed the Thundering Herd its only defeat in 14 games. The Hilltoppers return 49-touchdown quarterback Brandon Doughty and a lot of other key players, but Marshall may still be the team to beat in Conference USA". http://sports.yahoo.com/news/college-football-s-25-most-intriguing-games-of-2015-040129981-ncaaf.html
  5. I think North Texas should stick will being morally right. A player rapes, steals, commits violence should be immediately removed from the program as it has been happening/ Would a Baylor level scandal be worth a top 5 CFB spot to me? absolutely not. At the end of the day, there has to be a role model image to the community and students. Or at least become a giant killer program like Boise State and NIU.
  6. your sock misses you
  7. Harry, Can you put under the football board on GMG.com, "Coach Mac Neal Smaetresk is our leader and will take us to the promised land" ?
  8. I found a Facebook post from the official UNT Facebook in 2012, that stated the university has over 216,000 Alumni in the DFW area alone. The promoting of this game is pretty awesome, I think a job well done was made in an effort to get people to come out. NT just needs to close business and beat the ponies that day.
  9. I think it is time to accept that McNulty is our starter. I am,not all for this decision, but I can accept it. Greer being # 2 is a joke.
  10. with more then 216,000 UNT alumni live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, you would think it would be a no brainer that UNT should be SMU's biggest attendance getter. However, We are not able to even sell out Apogee stadium yet. I'm with @Mean Green 93-98, and say we should wait until after the game to start talking numbers. One thing is for sure!.... We are going to bring a good crowd to Ford in 20 days!
  11. Harry was posting yesterday that he is taking the train.
  12. You know, I would have thought that too. But I saw a post by UNT90 back in July, where he was telling cougar queen that UH is University of High School. Not unless, he is trying to throw us off.. Maybe we are being catfished on GMG.com?
  13. I will not lie and say that I will never bitch about having to play FCS teams. I absolutely hate playing them, I truly believe its just the easy way out for RV to just do this. However, I will not rob our guys of support for what our lazy AD is doing. I know they work hard, and have no control over this ugly scheduling we see. I will be out there on October 10th, watching Portland State being run through a meat grinder.... Watching Mean Green football, is better then no Mean Green football.
  14. (..........) SMU's attendance is skewed, they have A&M, TCU, and Baylor fans take over their stadium. I even remember in a different thread discussing Texas Tech taking over the crowd chant in Ford one game. Just wait until September 12th, and you might be surprised at how much Green will be in that stadium.
  15. Probably the first post of yours that I liked. He's got a valid point, and I truly believe that we need to have a good start to our season and gain momentum for Homecoming. I don't agree with you on the complaining about the FCS opponent part.
  16. That was an interesting documentary, I definitely learned a lot more about the SMU scandal, after watching that. I'm a guy born in the 90's, So I didn't get to personally witness the death penalty on the pony princesses like the older generations on GMG. I just get to watch a documentary like this, to get my info. It is kind of funny at the end of that documentary when they are talking about June Jones. They make him out to be a coach that would turn the doomed ship around for the program. I was snickering at that part because UNT sent June on his way last year.
  17. Sometimes I shake my head when it comes to both CFB and the NFL. This kind of stuff turns into so much of a business over a moral mentality, that they will ignore a bad rap sheet just so they can win. If a player has a history of violence like this, he shouldn't even be allowed to play football anymore.
  18. that flipping bye week sucks...it is going to make the wait even worse on the opening weekend of CFB. but sometimes we just have to be patient. "Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet."-Jean-Jacques Rousseau
  19. Dangit! maybe we could use carrier pigeons? go old school with it.
  20. we will not have a decent attendance, yes... there is a big game going on that weekend. But it is Homecoming weekend for UNT. We might hurt on the alumni attendance, The students should come out in good numbers. What I'm more concerned about, is our record going into that game. If we have a few wins into that game, that could definitely help too.
  21. Maybe he was jaywalking near the wal mart on 288? For some reason, UNT players get arrested there...
  22. yeah, I got a north texas polo at that walmart, that I wear to my work each week. I would highly recommend stopping by there. They have cheap unt car stickers too. Like 2 bucks for a bumper sticker.
  23. This is why I was hoping the game would be on TV, I guess we have ESPN 3. The next best thing is seeing the truth on TV, when people are witnessing a sea of green in the stands,
  24. I can see the guy who is in charge of tracking attendance for SMU doing the, "guess how many marbles are in the jar". tactic when he turns in the attendance, If SMU poops the bed again this year, I can promise you they will bring 2 fans (who live in Denton) to our game next year.
