  1. Charlotte with a defensive touchdown!
  2. Makes him feel even better, when he brings in someone who won't contribute to attendance. Yeah, lets not make a Texas P5 invade our stadium. But let's bring in someone who can fill in 10-11k of the seats. (I guess I can say RV had the right mind set with SMU, problem is.... SMU sucks at bringing fans....)
  3. You sure see those tickets get snatched up when you bring a known football opponent to your stadium, huh RV? I'm sorry, I know I'm just opening up a can of worms....
  4. Today's the day boys! How are the SMUts going to hold up against BU??.....I'll be rooting for Charlotte too, we need to get this CUSA freight train going after a day like yesterday.
  5. at least he's trolling where he's supposed to be trolling now...
  6. So if UTSA beats AZ, then CUSA is undefeated on opening day? UNT really needs to beat the ponies next week. The pressure is real!
  7. Thanks, good for them. +1 for CUSA! Central Michigan is hanging tight with OK State and its about to be the 4th qtr. If WKU can pull off the win, this is going to be a good day for the G5's.
  8. Is FIU going to beat UCF? I can only get the WKU game on my iphone right now.
  9. WKU's defense might be in for a tough game. Lol, Let's see what the offense can do for the Hilltoppers.
  10. a full 50 people in SMU attendance? Now you are being to generous Jim.
  11. That being said, I don't think there were more than 8K-10K UNT fans at Apogee last year. Stadium seats 30K and was more than half empty." How would he know? He didn't go to the game, as well as the other 99% of the posters on punyfans.com. They are going to find out real quick, that solving a coaching issue is just a band-aid for the wounds that need healing after a 1-11 season. What a bunch of Dallas clowns.
  12. Is this number counting the green brigade/dancers/etc?
  13. yeah, I had a cool professor in some elective class I took the year I graduate, that cancelled class for us, because that was the night of the Rice game. He just gave us our lesson on blackboard. It was an evening class, and I was worried I'd miss the first half. i also had a professor that went to Indiana University and would always talk highly of IU. He talked crapped about UNT football too. He quieted down, when we beat them in Denton a few years ago. Lol
  14. If he answers this question seriously, I will forgive him for the terrible scheduling.
  15. This is so truthful, it almost stinks of Abraham Lincoln. (I know bad joke, but I try) The student's will always fill out their side of the stadium, if we are going to crush the almighty Incarnate Word or Lamar. So yeah.... playing an FCS could be considered good in that part.... But........ As you can see in any successful college football stadium in the nation, there is a vast majority of alumni and casual fans filing that stadium too. I'm not much of a fan for seeing and hearing the one side of the stadium during the NORTH TEXAS chant being louder on one word over the other. This year's FCS game crowd might be helped due to homecoming/best home game in 2015....
  16. just look at the schedule 2-1 or 1-1 home game threads to narrow the pecking order down. Look at any of the threads on GMG.com to see that UNT90 is going to burn in that building.
  17. UH was upset on their board about selling only 15,000 tix? 0_0 ^ You wan't to know why I didn't know that? A1: I don't care A2:I have never felt the need to troll another team's football board, as well as pay constant attention to another team's board that we are not playing in the near future.
  18. We need to be winning 80-90% of our games each season to build up that solid attendance. So now people have to go buy season tickets to go see UNT play an FCS squash game? This season's home schedule could of very well be a season ticket holder's nightmare.... I'm not saying I would ever boycott our games, but a casual fan isn't going to sign up to see UNT play Portland State....
  19. Yeah you're right, but I'll reiterate what TheWestie said. A lot of us are tired of these FCS games at home. We want to play lower P5's at home and are tired of hearing the excuses come from our AD's mouth. Heck, I'll be happy if we could get a well known G5 in our stadium. Get us Boise St, NIU, or even TX State would be an improvement. The FCS games just have to stop. Yes it's a free win, but I honestly think these games do nothing for this program and hurt our efforts to bring up attendance. Plus, out scheduling looks absolutely lazy. This season's schedule is probably the perfect example of RV's laziness.... We have Portland St., 2 body bag games, and a 1st week bye.....
  20. Or the people who are completely oblivious to our program... I had small talk with a older guy in an elevator in Austin while I was wearing a North Texas shirt a few months ago say, "North Texas? isn't that a university up in the pan handle?". It's an older generation mindset, based on what you all have seen through your days at UNT and many years after. Ben and I didn't go through all of that, yes..... But that is why a lot of things need to change. Based on a lot of points you have brought up about the football team's past. UNT missed a lot of opportunities, but we have to focus on where we are at today. The AD and BOR seem to be hindering that for awhile now. This is why we need President Smastrek to follow through with his athletic turnaround. He is doing a good job at targeting the younger generations. In essence... I think we can all agree, that a good athletic program is great for university recognition.
  21. As with any rescue adoption, we have to get his vaccine shots. Adopting an SMU fan, might spread unwanted self entitlement in Mean Green territory,
  22. I'm not arguing that point. But Indiana beat Missouri, a power SEC team last year btw.
  23. Future Sunbelt Telecast, "Thank you for joining us this Saturday evening, as we watch Southeastern Central State EL Centro University vs. Northwestern Middle Mountain Northpoint University. a suspected crowd of 9 thousand has sold out the stadium in today's rivalry funbelt game."
