Not so fast! I will wager in.

I think we try and take all we get with the quest to replace RV.

McNulty couldn't score us a touchdown after the special teams got us a turnover around the 20 or 15 yard line. How much easier can we make it for him? SMU also helped McNulty by all the penalties they had. I heard a couple UNT fans talking to each other during the game, and whenever the ref would call a penalty on SMU, they would joke that was McNulty's best gain of yards the whole game... I was ranting and venting about D. Smith being our starter, and then I was ultimately brainwashed to be a part of the McNulty band wagon for a couple months too. But there is no way we can have the hopes of squeezing a a 6-6 season with AM at center. My only hope is that Greer gets skipped and we go to D. Smith when there is a complete melt down on the field. But with coach Mac... McNulty could be wheel chair bound and still play out there. So I'm not even hoping for a QB change anymore..

How the heck are you going to execute on offense, if your QB can't throw a decent pass to our receivers?! and then a defense knows UNT can only run the ball due to the lack of skill of throwing skill at QB, and the runners will stand no chance.... I sat in the endzone last Saturday...And several terrible throws, that the receiver stood no chance at catching.

Yes, McNulty is like the MaCarney's son at this point. In his mind, I don't think he feels he's jeopardizing his job too. I think he will jeopardize his job based on his stubbornness. The guy would drive a ship with a hole taking in water after being warned it was a sinking ship, and admit that the ship is just fine. But like UNTjim1995 said, he won't be gone until 2017. It's gotten to the point that Coach Mac is insulting the fans with his stubborn mentality.
-
Exactly, I turn off my ears when DMac talks about McNulty now. If I was him, I guess..... I would keep McNulty in the first half of the Rice game. If that guy pulls another game like last weekend, bench him... Then put in D.Smith and see what he can do. McNulty is gone after this year, and I have been saying for awhile (before I was brainwashed into accepting McNulty) that our coaching staff needs to put a younger QB in the game. We have two years left with Smith. Now we are going to be stuck in a situation, where we have to build up another QB after this year.

What are you going to do about the QB situation? (Since it hasn't improved since last year) Are you going to change up the play calling?

rick villareal I'm genuinely interested to know
GreenTexan13 replied to PRAK's topic in Mean Green Football
I forgot about BB. Shoot... I have actually wrote a letter and emailed Smatresk a year ago. Except I never got any feedback. Has anyone ever heard back from him after sending him a letter? -
I agree, it looks like a sailor's forum over there on Rowdytalk. It's nothing but Curse words. Which makes people look highly uneducated. I guess I can see why Cerebus shut it down. But personally, I think that we are all so frustrated. It may not be the right way of expressing their opinions, but they are right in every way on acting upset.

Start a #ResignRickVillreal with the students. I'm with Ben. People are going to stop going to the games and season ticket sales are going to suffer. -
I'm going 2-10 from 6-6 now. I think we beat Portland State somehow... And we squeeze out a win against UTSA or UTEP.

SMU deserved the win, they played better then us towards the end. And we clearly lacked at QB and coaching. As far as the fans go.... I saw a group of SMU fans chanting UNT F-ing sucks and going to UNT makes you a retard to a bunch of UNT fans that were walking into the game. I saw a drunk SMU fan get arrested for PI. @oldguystudent, I don't think it was the same person you saw. I then had the same guys that were chanting UNT F-ing sucks, bump into my group of friends and then they laughed still throwing out UNT disses. I also saw a cop literally chase down a couple jay walking frat guys. Make them go back to the other side of the street, and wait for him to let them walk across. (I had a good laugh) SMU's security issue is a problem. I feel like I'm going through airport security getting into the game. Which also made the lines long. They do have a nice stadium, and it was a pretty good experience outside of what I talked about above. It's just a bummer, that our performance that game was a dud...

Your list needs to be seen by the entire BOR, coaching staff, AD, and president. That list sums up the feelings of UNT's die hard fan base. I seriously think we are losing some student fans after last night.
-
I hope you're right. If McNulty gets benched, guess who is next on the line up though. Isn't it Greer? I don't think McNulty gets benched, until the Iowa game. And @Withers940, RV should just hire one of us as coach. I know we aren't qualified, but we know what needs to be changed or moved around. We lost that game last night, because of our offense. Obviously McNulty should take responsibility for that.
-
He was a third string QB on our team last year... Just take a second to think about that. Guess who is second string? Happy Feet Greer! I'll be surprised if we beat any teams this year with our offensive performance. Smith needs to get his shot, and I don't care about, "well McNulty knows the plays ". It's BS and a lot of us are fed up with not only out coach's excuses.... But our AD's.
-
Look at what other schools do in our situation. Any one of us would be fired from our jobs, if we couldn't satisfy the job needs. Mac can't win us a road game.... Or bring in an FBS QB. Mac hasn't done his job...

Proof that McNulty leads us on the long painful journey for 11 more games.

If this is the best talent we have at QB
GreenTexan13 replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
question for you @UNT90. Which is worse? McNulty as our Quarterback? or RV's scheduling? Because, I can comprehend how much torture our fans have to go through, A first week bye, 5 home game schedule, home games on holidays and bad day times, and now McNulty is leading the 2015 season. I will say, Mac finally gives him the bench after we lose all of our games going into homecoming. If McNulty somehow gets us a Rice win, we go into another losing season and McNulty finishes his senior season as a starting QB. I can't believe Mac, really disappointed in him..... -
Its time to Fire RV, Canales and maybe Mac
GreenTexan13 replied to KingDL1's topic in Mean Green Football
No one's getting fired anytime soon... The first person to go is Canales, and that will be after this season's done. i want to say, let's see what happens the rest of the season... But I'm afraid of what is going to happen... i had to beg a huge group of people to go with me, I convinced these fair weather fans that this was going to be a awesome game. But instead... I had to listen to them joke about how UNT football sucks the whole ride back home. I had nothing to argue with them about how they are wrong. I want another 2013 year so bad! And am tired of getting my hopes up for nothing. What also breaks my heart and spirit, is seeing a lot of you true fans show yourself as giving up, and some of you losing interest in season tickets for next year. As much as I want to convince you otherwise, I have nothing to back it up.. Welcome to UNT athletics... -
I think I dived off the Mac band wagon after tonight. I know he's going leave McNulty in for many more games too. His stubbornness costed us the 2014 and now what it looks like, the 2015 season. Smith won't play based on a coaching ego, and that's what it is. What is probably one of the biggest gut puncher, is the fact that we had our fan base take over SMU's stadium and flew a banner in the sky, yet Mac had the whole off season to solve a QB issue and failed at doing his job. We could have an SEC QB transfer to UNT and McNulty would of still started.

GreenTexan13 replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
yeah I'm aware of that. But, I think that game could be won without a QB. Hell, you know what.... I'm not going to argue with your point. Maybe this year is a super dud. I can't argue with this anymore. UNT 90 wins... -

GreenTexan13 replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
I say we win against Portland State. But other then that, we are in deep doo doo. McNulty = Let's look forward to 2016. I also want to apologize to the people on this board that shot down McNulty, and I corrected them. You all were right, and I truly accept the fact that McNulty is the death of the 2015 season. -
At this point, I would just put Smith out there. I can't respect Mac and Canalas after an offensive performance like that. The fact that we all trust Mac to fix the QB dilemma, and he named a non FBS QB as our starter is insulting. if I was a Mean Green defender, I would be giving McNulty and the offensive coaches a peice of my mind right now. Our defense kept a sluggish SMU from running up the score... Freaking ridiculous.....
-
Our defense deserves a round of applause. They did a great job. any thoughts on McNulty? I gave the guy a chance and it's just hard to see him give the offense the tick they need. I'm kind if disappointed in his performance.... Go Mean Green!
