Why do we have to wait for this so called vision to finally happen? Rick has done some good things, but the state of our football and basketball program is not good at all. He cannot hire a quality coach, and we need someone who is going to advertise our University with the success of our athletic program. I honestly think Rick should just step down... And I don't think I'm being unreasonable by wanting him to do that. The cold hard truth is.... The fact that, as long as RV is UNT's AD, that vision is going to remain a vision.

This could be a positive and a negative. But we'll be playing on ESPN U. (National attention)

Or RV resigns/retires by the end of 2016. Then we get another AD to come in and make a excellent new hire coach in 2017, then NT becomes the next Boise State program for years to come! Nah... Who am I kidding, RV is here until the SMU and Army series is up. He hires another nincompoop as our head football coach come 2017, and we don't have another winning season until sometime in the 2020's decade. Thus I repeat what you said... Its just so typical North Texas logic toward sports, its not even funny...

My thoughts... 1. UNT getting ran through a meat grinder this Saturday 2. Coach Mac praises McNulty after the game is over 3. GMG.com talks about which alcohol mixer will knock them out faster 4. We hear about Mac's win at Florida, or his days beating Iowa with Iowa State on the radio

I'm sticking with my previous revised schedule of 2-10. And that is being super optimistic, Both wins we make at home.

If we go 0-12, and nothing changes next year. And I mean anything (0-12 means an FCS loss!)..... I might have to take a break on UNT football for a bit. Like Rudy has been saying, it's a kick in the nuts each week..

North Texas needs to make changes. Clean out some of the house. 1 winning season in 10 years, is absolutely ridiculous. We have lost twice to a less then 10 year old UTSA program, skunked a fan base for a hyped up SMU game, basketball program lost the respect it used to have a few years ago, and we have to accept the fact that nothing will change because of our AD and coaching decisions. Once these important changes will or can be made, I feel as though UNT can break this never ending curse.

Completely agree ^ McNulty, being that guy that scored the first touchdown in our almost 5 year old stadium. Should be putting up better numbers then what he's putting out. What I see coming from McNulty, should be a performance coming from a freshman QB. The guy is a Senior..... just attacking McNulty isn't fair though. The guy did get some attention, with the coming back drives. However, the damage was done. And I feel like Coach Mac, needs to seriously reevaluate the team's attack tactic going into Iowa. This team needs to work on a lot of things to change some minds about our season around here..

I wouldn't be surprised if we have the misfortune of 0-12. But I think we go 2-10, with wins against Portland state and I say we beat UTSA or UTEP for the 2nd win.

I'm not going to put this on the all on the players. But our coaching, I 100% agree with.

I am really not surprised McNulty is skunking. I'm debating on not watching any more games with him as QB. Put in D.Smith Mac... Your stubbornness is starting to show terrible coaching.

I agree with Cougar King on this one. FCS games are just an easy BORING win (Yes I know Port State might not be so easy). Easy out for RV though... He's technically doing his job, and we are playing football in his eyes................ Not who we're playing.......

The only thing I heard the Prez really say about football, was a quick comment about our first football game, "ehhh, Not so good..". It was cool that he is aware and working towards getting a baseball program going though. RV also got a compliment by him as well.

Especially since he lost his shot at WKU for the top spot. I could only imagine his excitement when he transferred over to North Texas, knowing very well of the QB struggles we are having since Thompson left. And a fan base hitting him up on Twitter, telling him that he is going to be a god send for this football program.... Him getting all of this encouragement that he will take the field.. And then Mac comes in with his energetic attitude, announcing the 2 QB's that were very well a huge factor in the slacking of our offense in 2014, have earned the top 2 spots. I can only imagine that D.Smith has that small glimmer of hope of taking the field. the same type of hope that a lot of UNT fans have... That we will someday have a consistent 2013 CUSA powerhouse team, and we will once again have the back to back bowl seasons we had in the early 2000's.

can the alumni side just yell at him on Saturday? maybe chant, "we wan DeMarcus Smith" Serious question, I heard that fans were doing that about Dajon in the LaTech game.
