(I thought I would share a story, that cheered me up in the wake of this Mean Green Great Depression football season.) So I went to the Texas State Fair this last weekend, and I decided to throw on a North Texas shirt for the day. I had over 10 people yell to me Go Mean Green, throw up the claw, and chant caw! caw! when they saw me. But... probably one of my most proudest Mean Green moments was meeting this older gentleman operating the ferris wheel. As I was exiting the ferris wheel cage, he stopped me and was asking me if I graduated or was a student. After I told him I graduated there, he then explained to me that he had a good friend that played for North Texas football a while ago. He said that he was good enough to go on and play in the NFL. I didn't ever catch the players name from the guy, but he said that he has always liked UNT, despite never attending or really stepping foot on campus. If we don't have a good community support in Denton, I would say that Dallas is definitely a place that UNT holds a strong support. I was pretty proud that day, and I thoroughly enjoyed throwing up the claw all day.

Vito, Please glue this article to Mac's forehead. I want him to see what everyone else has been ranting about since the office season. -

Even with Greer? How insulting is that... -
Because a lot of us are tired of the excuses. It is excuse, after excuse, after excuse... I personally just want change, this whole situation here is not the, "hard to recruit" problem. It is the staff. And it will remain this way until we can get ourselves new and improved in the office and coaching our guys. I feel like we had basketball to fall onto, but now we don't even have that to confidently cheer for. In 2013, I couldn't even wait until Saturdays, and I would have to find something to keep my mind off of the anticipation. Now, I can't even stomach to watch them. I didn't even turn on the Iowa game. Seeing the final score, hearing about GREER, and the constant ignorance from our coach is just slaying me as a fan.

Those of you who support RV, are only contributing to the failure we are seeing. I don't care if he made tailgating happen, has a vision for the future, or is your good buddy. What he is doing is putting our athletics program into the Stone Age. Leave RV! for the fans that are for some reason still here, getting kicked in the nuts.

SMU isn't good at all... The sad part is... JMU could probably beat UNT as well...

I was just going through the comments on the Universiy's FB page. And it looks exactly like GMG.com, content wise. I find it pretty crazy that you see a disgruntled fan base and alum population. Yet, NT has not changed a dang bit. Heck, we might have gotten worse since last year.

I think he means #Play1. Because that's what a lot of us are predicting.

Everyone reminisce on your hometowns here
GreenTexan13 replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
Grew up Argyle, TX, all the upscale houses and mansions, the small school (when I went there) lifestyle, I can't remember my HS fight song honestly, and I guess I can be the guy that never left, because I live less then a 15 minute drive away from Argyle. My hometown is the place to be if you want to have nothing to do or your 2 favorite places to eat are Subway and Fuzzys. -
UTSA's schedule is brutal! Ours isn't that great either, I guess.

If we go 0-12, I say we grab our pitchforks and torches. Then start a storm of a Mean Green Revolution. Time to find new leadership.... (pitchforks and torches was a joke, the rest was not)

I bet the dude has more talent then AM. my freaking gosh this is so Dan McCarney... We get a player that was recruited by Nebraska (and pretty much had the school locked in) to play QB, freaking NAH BRASS KKA! and he isn't even given a (lets just see if he can throw it) at practice or something just for shits and giggles. He's going to play TE no matter what. We could have the next Brett Favre QB 2.0 on our roster, and Dan man would come up with some excuse as to why he's not mature enough or he doesn't know the play book well enough.

I've figured out who our next OC will be

Problem is.... Canales is going to get the boot for a problem that probably shouldn't have been on him. -
I just wanted to take a minute and express my gratitude towards the Mean Green Nation. I know we have and been having some down times in our athletic department.. But I did some thinking, and I truly feel as though North Texas has the most dedicated fan base sitting right here on GMG.com. And for the older generations here supporting UNT, thank you for helping create this UNT fan movement rolling. I hope one of these game days, I can thank y'all in person to thank you. Okay I'm done with the rambling.. I want to know how long you all have been a fan. I'll start.. I have been a fan since 2010. I took interest after I saw my first UNT game in Fouts, and then immediately was hooked.

Listening to an old man reminiscing about Iowa to Texans. Is like a dude listening listening to a group of women talk about their favorite romance book on Bunco night......

He's suggesting they take away McCarney?

"Look what 2013 did for us." I should have said after, "until we destroyed that reputation the next two seasons".
-
Says who? UT or Auburn fans? This is part of the problem contributing to UNT's perception. There is just as much at stake here. Look what 2013 did for us.

Make sure you give those keys to Andrew McNulty. He needs them to start the bus.
