History repeats itself guys! What has history told us about RV making coaching hires? if you all expect this hire to be different, then I suggest you stay away from the casinos...

The banner will do its job by grabbing the attention of the people who have power over RV. I don't think change will happen that night, or the next day. But change will happen if they realize how serious the fans are and the how serious the situation is getting. If that is ignored... Well, the banner will probably fly at the UTEP game and you will probably see a drop off of the die hard fans when RV wins and we have to ultimately accept that he is staying for good...

You are a good man Harry and a symbol of what a true fan/alum should be at UNT. But I just don't see any other way... You said it yourself on last night's podcast, "We have got to make the right hire this time" that we cannot screw up the last chance basically. And I don't trust with RV taking that risk for us... He screwed up big time with the last two FB coaches. If Smatresk thinks RV is our guy, then he will be making one of the worst mistakes of his career for North Texas.

No, but the AD does... I also sent my first letter back in March, before the real shit hit the fan . Never heard from anyone... A 2 page letter... I don't think 7 months classifies as immediately...

Tapthe brakes on that one. That is were a lot of you are thinking this is a personal attack on the guy. That we personally hate RV's Guts and we wish eternal bad luck on the guy. That is not it at all. This is about an outcry to the University (especially the president) that we are not going to be ignored anymore. We are tired of the same ol' UNT is mediocre and will never amount to anything in the major sports field. Idk if you all have heard us before.... But we tried the "keep it between the president and ourselves approach". We wrote letters, social media posts, and emails...

I have obviously noticed over the past week that there is people for the banner and people against the banner... I respect that we all reserve the right to our own opinions, but we can also express our reasoning behind those opinions. To the people that have stated, "there are better ways of approaching the campaign to remove RV". I am curious as to what you all propose is the best way of handling this and will it truly be successful if we approached it that way? Maybe there is a better way to remove RV, but I personally don't see it. I feel like we are running low on fumes and this is the last effort to extinguish the dumpster fire our athletic program has been enduring.

Just wait until a big fat picture of a plane and a, "Fire Rick Villarreal Banner" is posted on the NT daily and DRC.

What's done is done... RV has until 10/31 4PM to stop this from happening. All he has to do is step down from his job.

He couldn't recruit worth a damn. He also used his predecessor's recruits to win his only winning year... But yeah sure.. He was alright I guess.

Coach who won a national championship in College and a coach that took an NFL team to the Super Bowl almost 3 years ago.

Still think flying that banner is a bad idea? Can't wait to get annihilated by Liberty next year.....

What if us being quiet causes RV to get a new contract? This meltdown type season happened in '08 as well.. Squeaky wheel gets the grease...

(IMO) better conference to coach in, obviously better salary, in a recruiting hot bed (which wasn't utilized by Mac). Thats all I can think of off the top of my head right now. But you're right, UNT has kind of established itself as a coaching graveyard. He would have to be willing to come here with full confidence that he can turn this thing around and actually produce results.

He was my pick on a thread a week ago. I like Matt Campbell, and I think he would make a great coach here. ^ this is exactly why I think he would come coach here. He would have significant salary increase if he left Toledo for North Texas. Plus I think he would be here for a couple years benefiting our program before a P5 scoops him up.

If you ever decide to move away from drinking just light beer. Let me know, I'll crack open a Shiner or a cold Guinness and talk some UNT sports with a fellow Alumnus!

We are not going to fist fight each other. We can all be adults and have a debate over RV without having to meet in the parking lot after work....

Only reason why RV has been here so long. Is because WE allowed him to be here this long.... 15 freaking years people... Keep RV and lets just wait for the next 7 years to roll by, so we can rant about this again......

Getting rid of the president and Ryan? I think you are stretching this thing out a little to much. How do you propose we do something like that?

Then how come we are being ignored? We are not in the business to please the guys who run UNT. We are the customers, not the other way around... Who cares what they like..... Only North Texas that this kind of stuff goes on and no one will stand up to the big man, (because he won't like it).

This may not be a frustrating loss on team performance. A frustrating loss that I want to add to the list was the 2013 UTSA loss. If we would have won that game, I have no doubt in my mind we would have played and won the CUSA championship game. We would have gone on to play in the Liberty bowl that year. Even though we ended that year well, that loss put us on a different path to finish the season...

So a blowout loss to a no name FCS team from 2000 miles away will make that RB want to play here?, our last three football coaches getting fired and UNT gaining the reputation as a coaching graveyard will want to make a RB play here?, A empty stadium with individual talking voices being heard will make a RB want to play here? Being dead last in FBS football will make a RB want to play here? UNT's reputation is already ruined, it cannot get any worse (maybe cutting the athletic program is worse) At this point we have a lot of cleaning up to do. RV has made it clear he is going to be a parasite and stay here.. This is basically gotten to the point that we HAVE no other options, but this...

Thank you 90 for getting this going and putting forth all this effort for this banner. When we finally get rid of RV, I think we should get a plaque or statue in honor of your efforts to better the state of UNT athletics.. Heck, lets rename Victory Hall to UNT90 Hall! And thank you KingDL1 as well!

This was me too at some point.. Before I sent two letters to the president..., before I sent countless social media outcries to UNT affiliated accounts..., before I read an article about a cocky AD calling a vast majority of the fan base a minority... In essence, RV brought this upon himself. And as United States citizens, we have the right to protest. We tried the keep it between the president and disgruntled North Texan approach.. And that was crumpled up in our face... Now it's time for us to get our opinion across to the general public. With a very simple message, "Fire Rick Villarreal". We are not making fun of the guy, talking about his looks, beliefs, or any other personal attacks. We are keeping it (IMO) a respectful protest to change what has been ongoing the past failed few coaching attempts. He obviously had no respect in firing Mac immediately after the game, so I'm sure he'll understand were we are coming from...
