Thursday 8/29 FIU vs Tulane- Good game for us to know if FIU will be running the East division this year. Texas State vs A&M- I work with like 75 % Aggie grads. I will hear about this team whether I like it or not this season.. I prefer not to hear about them... I'd like to add BYU vs Utah, in state rivalries are always fun to watch! Friday 8/30 Rice vs Army- Will Rice prove everyone wrong? Most likely not. Maybe Army will get the preseason hype in their head and lay an egg Colorado vs CO State- I love watching state rivalries, good pick! Saturday 8/31 Just watching North Texas most likely, I have a Alabama grad friend who offered for me to come watch the game with him that day. I told him I have priorities for my alma mater.. AL ruins college football. As you stated, would be great to see Duke pull off an upset. If that were to happen Alabama would still end up in the playoffs....

Washington is the only outstanding win here. Look at the records of the rest of the teams and they are .500 or losing records. The low scores on those games is a cause of worry, Their defense is very concerning. The #1 PAC12 team only won by 2 points! My post was not meant to downgrade the Pac12 conference as a whole. Cal plays I think 4 ranked in conference opponents this year. Will be a tough schedule for sure.

I have no doubt the athletic department will do a stupendous job at selling this game. The football team needs to intensify the hype going into this with a stellar record. I have no doubt in my mind this will sell out if we are 3-1 or 4-0. This game would rival some P5 big game atmospheres that day.

I might be throwing stones in a glass house here. But Cal doesn't exactly have the foundation to be talking like they run the P5 world. These guys probably would be last place Pac12 if Oregon State or Colorado wasn't in the conference. I have heard a lot about this year's defense for Cal, but our offense will be stacked. I do admire that a lot of them gives credit where it is due. Arkansas did not give us the time of day before they got throttled, they were SEC. Top tier P5 conference.

You can take naps at SMU games on the alumni side, stretch out of you need too. Maybe even do yoga.

Let me get this straight? Houston got antsy and took action way to soon. Then, some smart or idiot (depending on how you look at it) guy is taking advantage of a Texas state law before it gets forgotten and slips through the crack Houston should have trashed the applications after 2 weeks of waiting and the hired Holgerson to cover their legal butts. For a season opener, I highly doubt that. SMU only brings a BMW X5 full of people and that's it. I'll be surprised if we don't go above 26K that day. Especially the amount of ACU alumni in the DFW area or even Abilene being 2 1/2 hours away.

I hope ACU brings a crowd. I have a ACU alum coworker that doesn't even own an ACU shirt... I convinced him to go to this game and tailgate with us too.

ESPN + sucks sometimes.. I remember watching a game or two on it last year and it just seems like a guy with a 90's camcorder standing at the top of the stands filming. Streaming is so convenient though.. I have always used YouTube TV and have a good selection of sports channels. PS vue sounds like a cool service to use too. Kudos to almost half our games being on Facebook too. I have been nothing but impressed with Stadium on FB. Going back to the original point, you can now bundle up internet and cable nowadays. I am currently moving and have been looking into getting internet service. It's 75 bucks to bundle cable and internet now.. Basically the cost of a good full package streaming service and internet provider service. Harry makes a good point!

I believe the topic of P5's at home has come up before, any way we can get some more Pac12 or ACC into Apogee? North Carolina, Pitt, or Oregon State, Washington Sate, Arizona or AZ state might consider coming and playing in Texas?

I don't want to downplay ACU.. Never put down an opponent. But I think our pivotal game is SMU, which you already talked about. Think about what the beat down SMU took last year by us, did to our team's mentality. You could argue that that built our confidence up to destroy Arkansas.

I think that there could have been thought that they are being put into the vicinity of where Fouts once stood. Apogee is not exactly where Fouts was. Although I understand how a "Bus Stop" can impact how we honored our history too.

2 highest attended games in Apogee were last year. I'm sticking to my guns if we are undefeated or only lose to Cal.. Buy your tickets early after we beat UTSA, Apogee will sellout at that point!

There's another big crowd of red over near the wing and one directly on the opposite side of the visitors section, on this album. Fans are very dispersed throughout the stadium. A lot more than SMU brings regardless.

Last year I went to the Houston v SMU game. It was UNT's bye week and I figured I would catch a game for my football fix since they were playing in Dallas. Anyways.. Their band took over at SMU's house, pretty Embarrassing for SMUt.. You would have thought it was being played in Houston the way the Houston band took over. UNT won't have this issue, but there is going to be a battle on the field as well as the stands that day. I CANNOT wait for this game day atmosphere.

Would you consider AirBnB? I was curious myself, and you can stay at an apartment or house withing walking distance of the downtown square or UNT campus (Sleep up to 9-14 people) and it is the same price/if not cheaper as a hotel. Just throwing that out there.
