Baseball Playoffs
KingDL1 replied to Coffee and TV's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I hope to see the Red Sox and the Yankees in the AL Championship Series, I love the drama. Go Yankees!! -
Maybe the TiVo watched the game and just assumed no one would want to watch it.
-
I definitely think it is time to put Dickey's neck on the line along with half the coaching staff. This is just horrible play. I am completely off any Dickey band wagon and I feel it is time to start interviewing new coaches.
-
I have an idea lets run it up the middle 85% of the time into a stacked box. That seemed to work really well all year, lets do it again this game they will never see it coming.

Hart out as Rangers GM
KingDL1 replied to Eagle-96's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Thank God, Hart should have been gone two years ago. -
Don't forget Hockey, maybe long-neck beers and grilled beer marinated bratwurst. Hey if you get out there in time we will be in Orange parking on the south edge near the bus stop thing and where point bank usually is. Come by have a beer or a shot and a brat. Baseball is the best of 5 right now.

KingDL1 replied to KingDL1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
One Day, Holy Sh*t I can't believe its Hockey Eve, this is taking longer than Christmas when I was a kid. I should be happy that the Troy game and opening night are not one in the same. With a little luck I will be at the opening night game!!!! -
Our group should be setup by 4:00 or 4:30 for some Beer soaked brats, ice cold long necks, and some Tequila. Yankees Rule!! Go Mean Green!!!!!!!!!

I learned to fly between my Strategic Management Degree and my BCIS degree while at North Texas. Three other UNT Alumni and I bought four L-29 Delfins from Bulagria about two years ago. We just finished our frist one. We keep them at Lancaster.

No kidding that sucked the big one its jumpy and annoying I could not Wait until it was over, WTF is with that music. Is our music department slipping? My gosh I would think we could do better than that. Its like a very old tech-school advertisement on the old pre-cable UHF frequency channels would carry. Man how embarrassing. They need some theme commercials.

That fired me up!! I will have some tortillas to throw with you! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!
-
Can you say, "Mean Green Tortilla Machine".
-
They would sell like mad. Anything to help get the attendance up.

Try not to post such BS. Don't play a race card on tortillas it is simply not true. Most traditions are rip offs, fights songs, mascots, you name it. We better get rid of our eagle mascot that is not original. OH MY GOD we may look a little foolish. The 12 most used names of four-year college mascots: Eagles (74), Tigers (46), Bulldogs (39), Panthers (33), Knights (32), Lions (31), Bears (30), Hawks (28), Cougars (27), Pioneers (27), Warriors (27) and Wildcats (25). We have 18 season tickets in our group and I am constantly trying to get more people to join. Believe it or not that many new fans I talk in to going get sold with the tortillas. Not only do the our ticket holders get in to the tortillas tossing, and all the people around our group in the stands, also the people I get to fill in when a season ticket holder is out of town. When our normal ticket-holders can't make it the people I get to show in their place get the whole sales package about the game and the tailgating, but the whole atmosphere tortillas included seal the deal Holy cow when we score it looks pretty cool! Come to the game, do a little tailgating, watch the game and toss some tortillas it has more appeal then I would have ever thought. Not to mention the kids, they love it, and folks, if the kids enjoy being there it is easier for the parents to bring them. And the Kids count as butts in seats toward attendance. I know that the Tortillas in our section do nothing but strengthen the spirit of the fans around us. Last year and this as soon as we show up people of all ages start asking us if we brought out tortillas and we start handing them out. Everyone in our section asks their neighbors if they need some and they start passing them out. By the end of last season over half the people had there own. It is crazy watching sixty and seventy year old fans both men and women go wild tossing tortillas. People have all kinds of reasons to go to football games; the game itself, the atmosphere, school pride, a social event, etc.. So don't get worked about the tortillas, just realize to many it is a way to express spirit and joy. And guess what those fans will be there at the next home game.

If I read the Roster correctly that is 14 Seniors. 32 Hopovac, Denis PK 5-10 181 Sr. Dallas, TX (W.T. White HS) 42 Thompson, Travis LB 6-2 225 Sr. (NE Oklahoma A&M) 46 Early, Shawn LB 6-0 215 Sr. Jacksonville, FL (Ribault HS) 66 Lineberry, Dylan OL 6-3 310 Sr. Houston, TX (North Shore HS) 8 Covington, TaRon DB 6-2 190 Sr. Coffeyville, KS (Coffeyville JC) 52 Miller, Chris DT 6-1 270 Sr. Stillwater, OK (Stillwater HS) 98 Hutchinson, Eli DE 6-4 240 Sr. Oklahoma City, OK (NE Oklahoma A&M) 34 Branch, Ja'Mel DB 5-7 171 Sr. Katy, TX (Katy HS) 64 May, Jason OL 6-4 295 Sr. Graham, TX (Graham HS) 29 Bazaldua, Nick PK 5-10 171 Sr. DeSoto, TX (DeSoto HS) 68 Patterson, Ephraim OL 6-3 280 Sr. Crosby, TX (Crosby HS) 43 Cobbs, Patrick RB 5-9 205 Sr. Tecumseh, OK (Tecumseh HS) 77 Vanderslice, Robbie OL 6-4 265 Sr. The Colony, TX (The Colony HS) 26 Starks, Cass DB 6-1 205 Sr. Denton, TX (Ryan HS) And if we went 12-0 this year we would be on track to great fan support, creditability, large donations, and yes we probably would get ranked this year just because of the hype. Not that I expect to go 12-0 either.

All you DD lovers - I have a question?
KingDL1 replied to GoMeanGreen1999's topic in Mean Green Football
Not really sure how come a new stadium would change how DD traditionally calls his games. -
No one here listened to the Coaches show?
KingDL1 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
It is also streamed on the web at Mean Green Radio (KNTU FM). -

1-AA W. Kentucky, 342 yds, 14 pts vs AUBURN
KingDL1 replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
Just to play devils advocate. Maybe just maybe the timing was right with the right group of kids and the right defensive coordinator, dropped into a new crappy conference with its own bowl tie in. Maybe Dickey didn't do much at all just in the right place at the right time. Because the proof is in the pudding as my mom used to say. Can't compete outside the belt, we won only one of our four NOBowls. After DeLoach left we look a little weaker each year. We have other trends like continued discipline troubles on and off the field and in the classroom. Why did we not use up all our scholarships this year? Maybe Dickey was just lucky! And maybe he is starting to run out of luck.
