Rick, did Tony make it back? When is his project complete? Is it a video project or a book, or a little of both I can't really tell from his website or is he just trying to experience American football from all angles. Whatever it is. it really sounds cool.

I agree, I think our current design is honestly craptacular. If I had the money to donate I would want to see a much better design than that one before UNT received my cash.

I am working on a new tortilla that is little girl friendly this off season! Spiritillas made of the softer white corn masa flour, then dyed with the more flexible and brighter kelly green food coloring. Finally screen printed with a few different logos, like the diving eagle or the new Mean Green stacked logo with eagle.

The topic was obviously started because "greenjoe" wanted to point out how little respect there is for Division 1AA Football, and reinforce our resolve to stay in D1A. Which I agree with. I am not sure why anyone here would care what was on UTs site. I doubt there are many worries on the UT site that their team will ever be ranked near last place in D1A either, but like I said who cares what would or would not be posted on UTs site.

In addition to brushing I hear that regular use of Listerine mouthwash helps reduce plaque also. Plus I hear the use of certified earplugs can reduce the effect of all fan bashing by Coach Dickey at football banquets if used properly.

Someone is getting rich and the taxpayer are getting screwed. The cost to fix and renovate plus renovate with phase 2 has a total coast of $317 million. That is crazy they should be able to knock it down and rebuild it twice for that. There needs to be an investigation before our money is just thrown all over the place.

It is key that we remember and reinforce that this year was more than just an off season, it was one of our worst ever. Many dismissed them as one in the same but they are not the same. "If you study history you are less likely to make the same mistakes", one of my history professors constantly repeated those words.

Jim, No, nothing much! Just built a scenario in my head based on my experience with companies. Well at the Louisiana-Monroe game I heard several people say that there were definitely some big changes about to happen in DD's staff and many of the current staff would not be back next year whether Dickey liked it or not, and RF would be one of many to be gone. Sounded to me like some people in charge were starting to get involved and maybe ending Dickey's charmed existence that BOR once granted him. Then reading this article about DD and RV which kind of sounds like the kiss of death to me. Over my life I have seen several upper level people get fired from companies, from when I worked at UPS to my current job at a Real Estate firm, plus what different friends have told me and I have read over the years. Funny thing was when all was said and done in the publics eye the Upper level guys usually resigned on their own for either their personal reasons or for mutual reasons. Fiction starts here but it would not surprise me if something like this happens. So I asked myself if I was Bobby Ray, and knew I had to do something about DD how would I handle it, DD is a friend of sorts, he has done some much needed good for our school, but maybe it is time for a change. Well first off I would not say a word in public until an appropriate solution was worked out. Now would it benefit DD to leave while he still has some momentum? I think so! Could we work out a deal, say if you resign now we won't have to fire you and nobody will have to buy out your contract? I think that would be mutually appealing. Gives DD a little more to work with at his next career stop. It is still early in the season to work this out I doubt we would hear much of anything until after the Bowl games. DD would get his opportunity to move on with his head held high and most of his respect in tack. I doubt in DD's case we would ever hear that he gets fired. I think there is some likelihood to this scenario playing out in some form. Jim what do you think?

I don't know what UNT's overall student not just student athlete graduation rate is, but ASU and some others had 35% or less for their overall student body. That seems crazy, while other schools have 80 - 90% rates. UTEP at last of the bowl teams for overall student body graduation rate of 25%, man only 1 in 4 that attend UTEP graduate they need to raise their entrance standards it seems. But the good news is I just saved money on my car insurance. The good news is UTEP's Football students graduate 34% of the time.

That is quite a shot, that the Sun Belt schools feed on the fringe, outsiders, varmints and such. Which means in his opinion we do not belong.

The story goes that RV and DD have not really talked in the last four plus years because RV wanted to fire him then and did not want to extend his contract. The BOR (AKA Bobby Ray) handcuffed RV and took his power over DD away. So for the most part they had nothing to talk about. After reading this article it would seem the BOR may have restored some of RV's power. I heard RF is done for sure, at the game before Thanksgiving. And I would not be totally surprised if something happens with DD like he resigns or a mutual agreement is made that he needs to move on for everyone concerned. Bobby Ray is not a stupid man he may have other ideas also, just not public yet.

I agree except I would have thought playing some of the worst teams in Football this season we would have been the ticket. If you have a total no name bottom D1AA team no one has heard of it won't really help if we win and if we lose it will destroy us. You know some coaches always play to win and won't know they are supposed to lose to UNT. That said, and with my faith in DD I would say don't schedule a twelfth game as long as DD is here to embarrass us. Does anyone really think we will have a .500 or better season next year. The Sky is about to fall, the problem is some can see the signs before it happens and others refuse to look up until the sky falls around them.

1-11 Easy

My parents along with my grandparents took me to the USS Arizona on two separate visits to Oahu. It left me in total awe as a child on both occasions. Dick Padgett worked with my Grandfather at the family airport in the Catskills in NY and still flies the tow planes to this day. He is about to or just did turn 80 and he looks and acts like a man in his early 60s. It says a lot that he still has his commercial flight physical. I grew up with his son who is a year younger than me and was able to hear Dick tell all his war stories. (Which is a real treat, he tells them in old story teller fashion that we seem to have lost in newer generations probably to much TV).He flew B-17s over Germany for two separate tours of duty. He was shot down three times and escaped all three times, with the help of different under ground communities. The point of the ramblings is it was a massive war and knowing him and going to the USS Arizona really puts it into perspective for me.

Don't Be a Fool Stay in School! Could really be interesting if the NCAA follows through with team scholarship penalties and recruitment limitations. I wonder how much it hurts a school if their athletes turn pro early?

Why all the hatred toward SMU? They had the death penalty some twenty years ago and have never been much of a threat since. Don't get me wrong I am no big Mustang fan other than the Ford version but I really don't hate or dislike any school in Texas. Maybe only Notre Dame comes close to hate but not really.
