I love how many fans think we are only playing 11 games or they can't do math, pay attention folks. Yes 12 is the magic Number illuvius32 is the only one in this thread to get it right so far, a very solid fan by comparison. 1)Sat, Sep 02 Texas at Austin, Texas...........................11 a.m. 2)Sat, Sep 09 SMU Denton, Texas...............................6 p.m. 3)Sat, Sep 16 Tulsa at Tulsa, Oklahoma.........................6 p.m. 4)Sat, Sep 23 Akron at Akron, Ohio................................5 p.m. 5)Sat, Sep 30 Middle Tennessee Denton, Texas..........6 p.m. 6)Sat, Oct 07 Florida International Denton, Texas......6 p.m. 7)Sat, Oct 21 Arkansas St. at Jonesboro, Arkansas........6 p.m. 8)Sat, Oct 28 Troy at Troy, Alabama................................6 p.m. 9)Sat, Nov 04 Louisiana Tech Denton, Texas...............6 p.m. 10)Sat, Nov 11 Louisiana-Lafayette at Lafayette, La......4 p.m. 11)Sat, Nov 18 Florida Atlantic Denton, Texas.............6 p.m. 12)Sat, Nov 25 Louisiana-Monroe at Monroe, La.............6 p.m. I think we will be lucky to win two games this year, any more is just bonus to me. That is 2-10. I do hope illuvius32 is right but my gut says otherwise.

We are so dead, Lee Jackson sucks the Big one. Just one Just two Just Three Well I have read well over thirty articles, reports and minutes where Dr. Bataille is quoted or her minutes have been recorded. Seems she really cares about Native Indian culture and Literature. But never seemed to speak one way or the other about sports. Which is bad for me right off the bat, I was hoping for a President that was already a vocal and active sports supporter. Then you look at her background and with civil liberties, humanities, art, native Indian culture and literature, I really feel we are screwed if she gets the Job. Not to mention Lee Jackson picked her. This really seems like a ploy, Lee Jackson gets the first woman President appointed. Not sure why she wants to come to Texas anyway, like it or not, for the most part Texans killed almost all the Indians in this state.

Ignore it, laugh it off, roll over and die guys. Got to love that spirit, are you people kidding? I don't care who's coaching or who's suited up, please don't just bend over and give up. D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one. Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! Otter: Germans? Boon: Forget it, he's rolling. Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... (goes blank & thinks hard) Bluto: the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! (runs out, alone; then returns) Bluto: What the f##k happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my a$$ from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer... Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part. Bluto: We're just the guys to do it. D-Day: Let's do it. Bluto: LET'S DO IT!

If there was no bashing this would be the Pleasantville Forum. It is the pros and the cons that make life and choices interesting. Bash! Bash! Bash! Beating a dead horse is another story. Other than my signature I have not bashed the coaching staff in three months. Here I will give just one more until Football starts or until DD mouths off about the fans or having the worst situation in all of football to overcome. Dickey Ba..Ba....Baaa.....Bash Done now.

Those ratings are ludicrous. To say only one coach is a 5 and no level 4s at all. You had better believe in any given year there are more than one coach in the warm seat or worse.

The guys doing the retail leasing are from Dallas, we work with the fairly often. In my experience the retail leasing team has the most influence over a project like this. You know this project is still young, the plans will change 20-30 times depending who they get to prelease. But what I saw was very nice, and if they are able to obtain any of the other properties on that block it will be nicer. If I remember right they have set it up as mixed use. Shop/restaurant space anchored with a Drug store. And some multifamily on upper levels and in the back. If I were the developers I would try to get UNT and the City behind me and try to eminent domain the rest of their asses. They are all willing to sell but they all think their property is worth a million bucks. Hell, I don't know how most those places pass health inspections. If everyone got on board by selling, selling for a price and being a part owner, or if the University and the City got together they could make a show piece for the area. I would envision a small sixth street or deep elm with new buildings. Which would create more sales tax and property tax for the City and a great selling point for new students, hint.. hint.. recruits.

I am in the business, I saw the site plans months ago. I know the leasing company that is helping design the project. There is not enough room or traffic to put in a fiesta or any other major grocery. Plus the simple price of the land negates the possibility of low rent tenants. The rent will have to meet the return on investment. That land is way over priced. That is why you will see a mixed use like retail & condos. Expect at ground level some bar & grills, restaurants, and shops. On the elevated levels look for condos or apartments. At least that would make drinking too much on Fry street easier for some.

That is not what they are doing, get a grip.

Preserve Denton -Vote and Safe Fry St.
KingDL1 replied to MeanGreenNation's topic in Mean Green Football
They are just remodeling Fry street for the better, my god it should have been done long ago, everyone wants to see UNT and the football program grow, this part of the process. Small thinking has always been a down fall of UNT and Denton. -
I been pretty busy and just now got around to posting some pictures of the Fout's and the AC. Plus a couple of air to air pictures while I was flying properties. These jets are L-29 Delfins built in Czechoslovakia or now the Czech Republic. Our planes and these were all imported from Bulgaria where they were still in use up to 2 and 1/2 years ago. AC - Fout's - Jets

Yup, it is happening for sure, I have already seen the site plans. I saw them about 3 or 4 weeks ago and at that time cool beans was also still a hold out, and so was Joe the old gentleman that owns the Gas station and adjacent properties. I did not think the apartments went 8 stories but I did not pay attention for the most part. What I did notice is the Tomato will be replaced with a Drug Store. It will be good for the school and if more Bars open there is better reason to stay in Denton on the weekends for the students. Fry street won't be gone it will just be remodeled which has needed for a while.

Don't Think Coaches Are Salesmen of Their Programs
KingDL1 replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't know where you have been Lifer, but we have a different philosophy at North Texas. Have the head coach bad mouth the fans to get them agitated into a reaction. I personally like those F###ers comments best. I wonder how that is working for us? In some fairness to DD I found it very moving that he and most if not all his assistant coaches made it to the entire GMG Bowl III this year along with RV and several players. I don't know whose idea it was but it does help my goodwill some, I figure RV had something to do with it. -
Happy Easter to all!

Have some fun start near to home, fly a huge banner over the first SMU Football game in Tech saying something on the line of "SMU WHO, UNT Mean Green is the Pony glue factory" and I am sure that better could be thought of. Then fly it over both home campuses during the week, I think it would get both sides spirit pumping at least guaranteeing a sellout. It would definitely stir-up some media attention. Maybe showings a Pony getting shoved into a glue machine. Oh crap forgot about PETA. Maybe instead "SMU WHO, We are going to Mean Green your Asses!" And "Go North Texas!!!" underneath. Showing a donkey with the big ears getting drove in to the ground by UNT.

Just wait PETA will be knocking on UL Monroe's door soon enough, making an innocent poor old hawk into a waring creature. Oh my, where is the Humanity of it all! -
My condolences in advance to the White team, may you rest in peace. GO GREEN!!!!

Rubber Bowl The Rubber Bowl is a stadium in Akron, Ohio. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the University of Akron "Zips" and high school football on Fridays. It is named after the predominance of the tire industry in Akron. The stadium opened in 1940 and has a capacity of 31,000.

I bet a Tortilla could really fly from that double deck.

Well at least we are guaranteed a bowl game next year! "Rubber Bowl"
