Wow four years ago, dang, if we have one a decade I guess we are doing a heck of a good job. And the Belt as a whole only two in 5 years at that rate of inconsistency some would consider those wins a fluke.

I wonder if DD has been told that this is important, to both our University and the Sun Belt? He will have to come up with an entirely different strategy, imagine DD preparing to win against OOC teams. I guess he should consider backing off the draw play. RV said in his post the other day; That comment along with the Sun Belt strategy seems to be the exact polar opposite of DD's style and history.

That was great! You know he looks really good I mean seasoned, solid, smart, he does not seem to be playing like a rookie. Another thing I enjoy seeing Cobbs on NFL quality video and camera angles.

I am really starting to believe in Nathan Tune. All summer I have been hearing about Tune from "Mean Green Doc" and a couple other friends that are in the Prosper & Celina area. They told me he was incredible that it would not surprise any of them if he was starting this year, I took it with grain of salt, but the reports from practice keep coming in, and maybe I am just excited about Patrick Cobbs and his fantastic reports he is getting in NE. But with Nathan's "mentor's" comments and all the guys on the board were noticing this kid, seems he is living up to the hype so far. Best of luck Nathan.

I am already campaigning first timers for the SMU game, selling the tailgating experience hardcore. It would be nice to have a win this game. Just as long as we don't get Killed.

eulesseagle, Not to say you were on the sauce, but I thought maybe there was something to make me feel better about the upcoming season. OK, maybe that would be the sauce for me! And you can pick the poison. gangrene, To me, my expectations for UNT is to put out a winning team year after year until we're in a BCS conference and then I will be looking for that National Championship. As far as I am concerned for the time being as weak as the Sun Belt is we should dominate it every year until we move up to a better conference. But what I expect this year realistically, will fall far short of my expectations. I hope I am wrong! We will see shortly. It would be nice if we came out strong against UT and beat the ever living sh#t out SMU. That would be more to my expectations. I think that realistically is the key word!

The title to this thread is, "(green-tinted glasses removed) What should we, realistically expect from this season??" The answer you give should be as if you had to bet your life on it. My gut instinct says 2 wins at best, my heart wishes for much more. Realistically is a tough one. Some are saying we will have a winning season, but is that what they are hoping for or what they truly believe. I hope for a winning season, hell I would love to see us go undefeated this season, but I know better.

History matters, but this is not for the history books. It was an insignificant game to UT. We didn't win. But we talk about that game like we are on an episode of Married with Children; "that one time we should have won against UT and those cowardly refs took it away from us" then Al sticks his hand back in his pants, like that is our only glory.
