Just for fun to play devil's advocate and only devil's advocate! What if they had a brother, cousin, boy-friend playing for UT? And I still wouldn't be happy otherwise burn them down.

Post Game Fireworks This Year is different!
KingDL1 replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
I remember the Wall, I have to admit it was better especially as a kid. I was 11 or 12 when a friend of my dad Ray Keasler took both families to the 4th of July fireworks display at Fouts field. And of course I did not remember the fireworks, I just told all my friends back in Dallas about this great place in Denton where they had a huge bathroom and you could pee on all the walls and not get in trouble. I told them how I tried to spell my name and all. They were in awe. For the next few years the trip became a yearly adventure and I looked forward to the walls. After the Fireworks we would also stop by a sit down Ice Cream shop/restaurant on Avenue C I can't remember the name. It was an end cap near the Burger King. When did the troughs get put in? -

Yeah, but the trough is greatness!!! I do consider myself a trough man, but I do prefer the Porcelain trough to the stainless trough. Unless of course you have the giant mint in the bottom of the stainless trough, well thats pretty good too. -

I am not sure that we can judge how good we are by SMU maybe how bad. In the Jeff Sagarin NCAA football ratings UNT is ranked 119 and SMU is 117. I would rather measure against a mid-major like Tulsa ranked 68. COLLEGE FOOTBALL thru results of SEPTEMBER 3 SUNDAY

Patrick Cobbs, #40, makes Steelers final roster
KingDL1 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
New running back: The Steelers traded a conditional draft pick Saturday for Patrick Cobbs, who was New England’s leading rusher this preseason. Cobbs is a 5-foot-8, 210-pounder who times in the 4.6 to 4.7 range but who is said to play faster. Cobbs led the nation in rushing as a sophomore at North Texas, the school that produced “Mean” Joe Greene. “Yeah, Joe Greene talked to me a couple times,” Cobbs said. “I thought a couple teams showed interest in me, but, unfortunately, on draft day I was sitting at the house and even after draft day I was sitting at the house and I was getting ready to head to Montreal when I got a phone call from New England and they gave me a shot and it landed me here.” The Tribune-Democrat Cobbs is listed as 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds, but now weighs 217 pounds according to a Steeler scout. He led the nation in rushing in 2003 as a junior (152.7 yards per game), sat out '04 with a knee injury and rushed for over 1,000 yards again last year. "I didn't even know about him coming out of North Texas," Cowher said. "I never looked at him. Our scouts have. I first saw him that one TV preseason game when New England was playing against Atlanta. "He's on the smaller side. He probably won't time fast, but he plays fast. He's got very good balance ... good vision ... excellent hands. He's been impressive. He's a kid who had a very good preseason." "It's important that you have quality backs," Cowher added. "We thought Patrick Cobbs is a quality guy. He's also young. He can help in the kicking game. Those are the reasons for that acquisition." Cobbs, 23, led the Patriots with 188 rushing yards and three TDs in the preseason and averaged a hefty 4.9 yards per carry. Duce escapes the noose -
Did he ever make the award?

The National Weather Service; Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Hey now as of right now it doesn't sound that bad, cool temperatures and 70% chance of dryness. Plus Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Emmitt you have what sounds to be a pretty nice night with a 70-80% chance of dryness. I have my fingers crossed.

Is anyone losing sleep from the SMU game?
KingDL1 replied to UNT_playmaker's topic in Mean Green Football
This is not that big of a game guys it is just a game we should have won easily and now we have slid backward far enough that we have to worry. This should be nothing but a pony ass-whipping, and thanks to DD we are back in the bottom of the NCAA and we have fans losing sleep. -

Did y'all notice that the Steelers play Thursday, Sept. 7 the first NFL regular season game of the year against Miami @ 8:30 pm (NBC) EST. National TV, I am suddenly more interested in this Thursday night game. -
Good job Mean'n'Green07 your catch is truly funny.

After we kick SMU's ass in a proficient and orderly manner. We need to act like the win was a forgone conclusion. So we can set our sights on Tulsa for some pay back.

Does anyone know where Green Grenade II and how his wife is doing?
