  1. Longest Yard (1974) was my favorite hands down. I will always have a special spot in my heart for "Necessary Roughness".
  2. A million is not that much anymore, I figure several million a year. Does Dodge hold some football camps for offense and Quarterbacks every summer that are nationally recognized. Another big in for recruiting.
  3. It was a great decision done more for the dwindling fan-base, recruiting, and to let the world know we were in the market with some time left. I don't know why DD is still coaching but I bet it was some kind of concession RV was stuck with.
  4. Now you thinking, great idea. This sounds better all the time, now we need to get a sponsor to match all money raised. I wonder how hard this would be to setup.
  5. I would argue that this kind of press is still good, shows for once that the administration at UNT is serious about moving forward as a football program. Plus anyone in coaching knows how the coaching ball bounces and that DD's record had him jeopardy for a while. There is reality and then what you say to the press. I don't think any other coach no matter how they feel would throw DD under the bus.
  6. Good point about his attitude. And I think his future as a Division 1A head coach are over for now and the immediate future. I don't think anyone will touch him short of high school.
  7. tcooper you are either a pi$$pot of a troll or your brain has diminished abilities. Maybe a little of both, but hopefully this will help your mental struggle. BrainAlert Also Brain Food
  8. This guy has a history for the dramatic, and has acted like a brat in Houston and now here. Thank you RV & Dr Bataille keep up the good fight we are with you.
  9. No, I have never worn a strap-on!
  10. Its all over K state wins by 3.
  11. Just get FFR started on this one!
  12. Who did the recruting, Deloach did on D if I remember right. Who was responsiable for replaceing Deloach, when he left for UCLA? Just proves DD got lucky with DeLoach nothing else. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.
  13. Having two offensive teams is inherently flawed, the better team is who you would want out there and everybody would be upset when the weaker team was in. It is more likely a sign of very bad coaching and not evaluating and motivating the players correctly. Why have these guys not been starting especially the green team line?
  14. Actually DD's head was called for in 2001, and he was about to get fired then. It was a good start but not greatness. Turns out that majority of DD success was due to an outstanding Defense ranked in the top ten in the nation, then Gary DeLoach left. SO you should give your credit to DeLoach. But I love how you ignore the facts for the warm fuzzes, did he win that 2001 bowl game? No! Wait he won NOBowl in 2002 when we had a top ten ranked defense with defense, so hard to see. After that our Defense slowly slipped downward. If my memory serves me correctly we did not win in either the 2003 or 2004 NOBowls. DD really capitalized on that wonderful momentum you give him tons of credit for. So you are right there have been worse teams that is something to hang your hat on, hey at least we were not the worst football program in Division 1A.
  15. That is what I was thinking, amazing what it takes to lite a fire under DDs a$$.
  16. I believe RV has been steadily increasing his budget for this eventuality.
  17. Kind of makes you wonder why the starters are starters?? Who Picks the starters? There is something very wrong about that.
  18. In 2001 we went to the bowl game with a losing record and wow we lost the Bowl in fact we lost 3 of the 4. And by the way that was the first time in our history that a bowl game was tied to our conference championship we have had 24 conference championships only 2 were D-1aa. Better yet Odus Mitchell UNT coach had a run from 1950 -1959 where he won 7 conference championships in ten seasons. Expect more!!!! Open your eyes!! Dickey has a horrible record and 6 of his 9 seasons were losing ones 1998 North Texas 3 - 8 1999 North Texas 2 - 9 2000 North Texas 3 - 8 2001 North Texas 5 - 7 2002 North Texas 8 - 5 2003 North Texas 9 - 4 2004 North Texas 7 - 5 2005 North Texas 2 - 9 2006 North Texas 2 - 7* Dickey is a loser! Period! North Texas Championships
  19. Don't you mean it was very difficult for your situation.
  20. My God I should hope so, why would you put a guy with a .39 winning percentage IN THE HOF. Dickey is the forth worst coach in UNT history and worst winning percentage of any coach with more than 3 years as head coach at UNT.
  21. Get your frustrations out by wrecking an old Buick. Take a sledge hammer to the dang thing. It could generate some needed revenue for the Athletic Department. This was suggested to me by a great Mean Green fan that may or may not want to keep his name out of it. I don't know what it would take to set-up but I know several that would love to take a whack at the Old Buick! Something like 3 whacks for five dollars.
  22. Because of his mouth, attitude, play calling, lack of adjustments in games, lack of discipline, and more. That " lot for the program" had more to do with an incredible Defense ranked in the top 10 (see coach Deloach) and a very crappy SBC. Other than homers it was painfully obvious at the last bowl vs Southern Miss that his system was completely ineffective without a top ranked Defense and we would never move forward. Dickey has the worst winning percentage by far of any coach in UNT history that had more than three years on the job and at that there are only three worse two only coached one season. In 9 years he only won seven games against D1a teams that finished with a winning record and two during his bowl years. His offense has always been on the bottom of D1a. Only 3 winning seasons in 9. He set record home loss in front of a record crowd last year against Tulsa, then he set another record loss against the Muts this year for worst shutout at home, worst conference loss and so on. Screw Dickey
  23. I talked to several people in and around my group and they are energized by the current turn of events. We are planning a Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish/Dickey Tailgating Party for FAU starting at 12:00 pm noon on the 18th. It appears we will have the best turn out we have had in two years. Guys the Used Buick and Scrappy signs need to fly high, and I may make some more if I hear anymore of this DD BS. I think if we have some good weather it will be one hell of a large party.
  24. Amen it is a great move, and UNT will benefit from the decision almost immediately. Thanks again RV and Dr. Gretchen Bataille.
  25. I don't know but I have heard some crazy good things about Tune.
