  1. Last year our average competition total team offense was ranked 74.92 This year our average competition total team offense was ranked 39.4 Last year the toughest offense we faced was Texas with a ranking of 22nd and they scored 56 on us. This year we have faced Arkansas ranked 8th and Oklahoma ranked 11th, and we meet each when they were fired up for a dominate win. Last and maybe BEST the worst offense we have played this year is ranked 66th which is 9 spots better than the Average Offenses we faced last year. Here is a table: Research Take it how you want, but when comparing our defense this year to last yest the comparison is not Apples to Apples.
  2. Here is a little fun fact : food for thought. Last year our average competition total team offense was ranked 74.92 This year our average competition total team offense was ranked 39.4 Here is a table: Research
  3. A Very Happy Birthday to you Rick! Old man!
  4. I will be in the blue lot with the full crew, Green tent, across from the bus stop. Champaign Tahoe. Look for this group!!!! (Click here for more) Sorry we are the group under the green tents, the lead picture is JD. Tony
  5. Rick I don't disagree with you I just disagree with the timing. I think you need to take that Ranking from last year's Defense (which I can not find published) and realize that if it is the one from the NCAA we are talking about its a statistically based number for the whole season based on total average yards given up per game. What else effects that? The competition, the schedule, weather, the offense and so on. Put since I can't find that list I can not even compare those stats against other teams or ourselves for that matter. But what all of us know is stats don't tell the whole picture. Take for example Patrick Cobbs, statistically #1 in 2003 in average yards per game, but was he the best running back in d1a that year?
  6. Well first off you guys are going for the throat too fast, a brand new staff with a brand new philosophy from the ground up is being implemented. And I don't just mean on the field, I mean with new discipline rules, new energy, new everything. SO on defense you are teaching your brand of Defense, do you throw it out with the bathwater before it is even finished being taught. Well damn guys that didn't work lets pick the flavor of the week defense. No I think the first year you stick with your game plan then once you are settled in and all personal and players are comfortable then you can make big adjustments if needed. But at game 5 the first half of the first season of an entirely brand new staff, come on you all. I think there will be a gel-factor that happens, I saw some good defense in the first half against Lafayette, hell they kept us in the game while Vizza was getting his feet underneath him.
  7. I only wish when I am out doing these flights that I was posting photo updates of our stadium.
  8. If that is the case with no improvement very evident My attitude on the subject will be completely different.
  9. Game 5
  10. I just wish I was as all knowing as you, To sum up a brand new coach with a team that has an entirely new staff after 5 games. You are a much more talented then me. Our defense was not good last year. This whole ranking thing first I can't find it in my searches, but more importantly even if we finished the year statically with our defense in 65 it still does not mean much.
  11. Wildest game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. The Tony Whatthehellhisnameis makes me want to put my foot through the TV. God that guy sucks and he is super annoying. He laughs at all his own jokes that suck!
  13. Un-f*ing Real!!!!!!!!! He just tied a cowboys record for most Ints in a game!
  14. Wow you are right. I forgot to mention I have the Cowboys Defense.
  15. No, just a bunch of old friends and four of us are Alumni, we have been playing for seven years now.
  16. Four I mean Five turnovers for Romo man I am dieing, crap!
  17. At least Folk is getting me some points.
  18. Yup, but man I hope the Boys come out strong. I am in a salary cap league and I am all tied up with the boys. I have Folk, Romo, Witten (who already has great points tonight), Crayton and Barber on three different teams.
  19. Man what the hell is going on? Romo is killing my fantasy numbers and the odds of that 5 - 0 start is slipping fast. The Cowboys doing well helps distract me from our poor start.
  20. How about a kickoff kicker?
  21. I wanted to win, hell in my heart I expected to win. But I also knew we have not come close to gelling as a team yet. Vizza is is definitely one of the few positives, I am glad also, very glad he is getting experience now. He will be a true gamer. With a little luck Vizza may be the piece of the puzzle that gels the team.
  22. No I am not blind, I don't like swallowing these sorry ass pills, I am just not pushing the panic button yet. I am fairly sure if I can find a good stats archive that I can show our schedule was much softer last year in both OOC and in the conference the belt is better than last year and 65th may have been a gift with this years schedule. I read that some of our returning Defensive players showed up to Fall practice out of shape. Maybe that shows a lack of commitment on their part. But what kills me is the negativity on the board, it doesn't help anyone right now. I like what Dodge has set in to motion and I think we will all be much happier next year, and probably by the end of this year. I like the promotion of the team that Dodge has done and the no BS stance he has taken with the team. In time I have all the faith in the world it will payoff beyond anything us fans have ever seen at UNT. It going to take time, and calling for people's jobs and making some of the ridiculous posts and topics we have seen is way way WAY over the top and very bush-league as fans. We are at game 5, this year has still been more exciting to me then all of the last two years because I see potential or real hope for the first time in a long time. Yes I am not happy with the D but they even had glimmers in the first half, seems like I even saw a few bad-ass sacks. Yes we need more and dammit I want to go party with all you guys back down on Bourbon street. I see no point in beating Mendoza or our team up over anything this year, god I want a kickoff kicker and a great return guy. An O-line that can keep a three man front from penetrating the pocket. Etc.. Dodge will fix everything in time and he and his staff deserve some real time, and patience from us. Tony
  23. Also Florida Atlantic beat us in 2004 when we won the Belt, and they were only D1aa at the time.
  24. That is kind of the point I don't expect anything this year, except that our team is building. I am simply happy with the energy and the selfless promotion of our University that Dodge has brought us. I wrote this year off before it ever stated I think we are a few good plays a way from being 3 -2. But I am not in worried about anything until next year. Your point is we were both winless heading into the last game? That Louisiana-Lafayette's head coach Rickey Bustle is in his sixth season.
