If they are bad dogs I have no problem with it. It looks like San Francisco got it right: Pit Bull Ordinance The Term unaltered refers to a dog that has not been spayed or neutered. Pit Bull Ordinance A new law is now in effect that makes it illegal to own an unaltered pit bull - or pit bull mix - in San Francisco. Also in effect is San Francisco Health Code Section 44, which requires owners to obtain a permit from Animal Care and Control in order to breed their pit bull or pit bull mixes. These laws went into effect after the Governor signed SB 861 into law - paving the way for cities and counties to create legislation specific to spaying and neutering of particular breeds of dogs.

I love our night games it makes for a great day of tailgating, a game easier to watch without the sun on you or in your eyes. Fact is our stadium is not the cause of our attendance problem, people who say that is the reason they don't come are just looking for excuses. If our team was wining and playing reputable/recognizable opponents they would come. Plus I think the admin should really take the student body by the reigns and start instilling spirit from a mandatory 3 day spirit camp for incoming freshman and sophomores. Then reinforce it in the classrooms, have the cheerleaders do mini pep rallies between classes in heavy traffic areas on Thursdays and Fridays during Football season, and finally have some contests that help motivate the student body.

Here is a 20 year report, notice that Pits lead the over all stats for fatal attacks but Rots lead heavily each of the last three years as that breed has became more popular in the US. In this report 25 breeds have caused fatal bites, and in other articles since this was published another 5 breeds have been identified. Do you really want to go down this road? Breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks in the United States between 1979 and 1998 Punish the idiot owners and backyard breeders that want to have tough dogs or fighters. They are the source of the problem not the breeds.
-
Rick this is simply not true. The inbred assholes that backyard breed probably, but most come from reputable breeders and these are the Pits you never hear about. Not like the media goes out to paint a picture good side of the Pits. What next Chows, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, German Shepards, Alaskan Malamutes, Huskies, Presa Canario, Boxer, Dalmatian, Akitas, Great Danes etc... Top Ten (10) Most Dangerous Dog Breeds Add labs to the list The stats First outlawing a breed is just about impossible to do, then you are subject to the enforcement by individuals that have to make a guess as to what mix your dog may be. Read here for just some problems: RSPCA Quits Dangerous Dogs Panel Over Deed not Breed Argument This is a sad and shallow argument that is pursuing the symptom and not the cause. The Cause is dumbass people, please understand that. Regulate breeding and make the fines and punishment worse. There are lots of alternatives, that are much better to deal with this issue and help to bypass the idiot owners. Not to mention what a dangerous mind set this is, it is the same argument used to try and ban guns. I want my guns, I don't want my dog put on some arbitrary list because people scare themselves, and I sure as hell don't want some dog catcher telling one day that my dog looks like it maybe a dangerous breed and it needs to be put down. Don't open Pandora's Box

Because at one time Pits were the most popular dog in the US, plus the fast majority of them are no problem it has more to do with inbreed human owners, maybe we should eliminate them. Some knowledge on pits Does anyone know the most dangerous animal in the US? Whitetail Deer, are responsible for more death and personal injury then all the other animals combined.

We will see a new stadium by fall 2010 count on it. Ok now the Walmart at 380, and I35 I was mislead sorry guys it was not completely inked! I was told by I guess you may call an overly eager broker that it was inked. Still a great site for Walmart, no doubt about that. But will almost undoubtedly happen, just a bump in the road when allegiance turned over the control to the general partner. Other lease agreements have been signed, there is just about no way this thing can tank. Short of a depression.

Great game! GO STARS!!!!!! -
We need to sue the NCAA now. Or just shoot the bastards!

I dated a girl that provided homeowners insurance, and at the time Chows had the worst record on her sheets, followed by Rots, Pits, and Dobermans. I grew up around several people that had pit bulls and they were great dogs, friendly, gentle, and protective of the kids in the family. I think the Little Rascals may had something to do with their popularity when I was a kid. I don't know what has happened in recent years, if the owners just get these dogs to mean to them and don't control them or if the breeding has just become whacked out. Its seems like it is usually the owners fault. When I was a UPS driver chows were the biggest pain, and only rottweilers truly intimidated me. I thought this was interesting Some knowledge on pits

Well aside from the attack, and yes I do understand what is going on and yes it still is a big deal! You are right, now on top of all the selling Todd Dodge has to do to get a higher profile kid up to Denton now he has an extra hurtle to overcome. If you think 5 ships are no big deal, you may want to talk to a coach. Not sure about your practice squad notion either, with a red shirt everyone has five years eligibility that gives you 17 ships per class, now I know that does not work that way exactly but you can bet we will feel those missing five next year.
-
Having 5 scholarships taken is a pretty big deal, I think of our star receiver last year and how he got his. But when the recruiters tell the parents that UNT has one of the worst success rates of keeping their kids in school, especially with UNT not really being the road to the NFL. I think education could sit pretty high with most our recruits.
-
If you think recruiters from other schools we are in competition with are not going to make it known to the recruit and his family that we were one of the worst hit in the NCAA, then you are kidding yourself! This is a big deal both to recruiting and to the quality of depth we can hold on the team, RV and TD will hopefully get this thing resolved quickly!
-
Not being a fan of his coaching is one the thing, but his actions in the stands is quite another. Things like that are supposed to haunt you, thats what separates the men from the boys. He should not have done it, and it could have turned out to be a much bigger deal then it did. Thanks God it didn't, especially with RF being that far out of control in the stands.
-
I think it is great, a little surprising, but great! I can't wait until the time when I drive up to Denton to see a sea of green starting north of the Lewisville bridge!
-
Well it is one thing when it is listed like some specific SMU football thing is going on, but when we are worried about what they think or if they are better then us it is a very different thing.
-
I don't care what anyone at SMU thinks, why should anyone? It is the same basic crap.

The Stars had better clear the damn crease, what the hell. Turo had guys in his crease interfering with him all night. I am not sure how one of the goals counted Turo had the Detroit player in his lap, and the first goal looked high, I mean the deflection, seemed like it was high sticking, but only one angle showed it and I only saw that once. I hate Detroit, like I always say, "better Dead than Red!"
-
I would say we had momentum in recruiting! NCAA thing has a huge stink about it, RV really needs to explain it. Otherwise it seems we are being held to a much higher standard by the NCAA then others, especially as many of the big dogs try to point out that we are a just a third tear school.

Emmitt pure greatness!! -
The more I read about this the more it stinks, we are getting screwed there is no two ways about it. It seems very arbitrary to have different standards for every school. The NCAA sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will take the Stars in 7. Screw Detroit, Marty is on a roll and Detroit is just another monkey on his back that he is ready to shed. The Penguins now scare me.
