  1. I honestly thought the takes were going to be much more in favor of Cal simply because P5 v. G5, as it almost always happens. Pleasantly surprised.
  2. Same, except I think Akron beats Temple and USF beats WKU. WKU lost Zappe, and I get that they tend to reload quickly, but idk.
  3. This man livin in the future
  4. Even if Wazzu and Oregon St. rebuild, the Pac-whatever will certainly lose its power status anyway. doesn't matter if they add the best programs from MWC and AAC.
  5. Ft. Worth ain't coming calling up north either
  6. They were 12 years old. Things have improved since then. You'll see the difference when the new ones are up.
  7. It's really a combination of the NIL and players' ability to transfer so freely. How many stops has Grant Gunnell been at? His weren't for money, but what you have is year after year after year players who make a little name for themselves and go chase the money. I don't fault the players whatsoever, but the schools and coaches of the departing school who invested so much time and resources into recruiting that kid get the absolute shaft, sometimes to the tune of thousands of dollars when you add up travel costs and time not spent with other recruits. I'm also totally fine with players being paid, but we need a national cap. No player can make over, say $100k in an NIL deal. Otherwise, it's open season and Trent Dilfer will be naming many names.
  8. Not only would I allow them in our HOF, I'd WANT them to coach here. Having ties to the school is huge in my book.
  9. Must be something special if we broke out the video rather than the emoji...
  10. Because I'd bet you a nice shiny dollar Gunnell would air that out about a coach that he has no real loyalty to. And that Morris isn't that type of coach. They may wish it so, but coaches don't go "asking guys to clear up scholarship space." They take them off scholarship.
  11. Landed at Xavier. https://247sports.com/college/xavier/Article/xavier-musketeers-transfer-portal-abou-ousmane-north-texas-208557654/
  12. Totally agree. But we need to, for the love of everything Holy, prohibit these parents from naming children anymore. Rydlii has a younger sister on the team named "Rykyr."
  13. Couldn't find a better forum topic to post this, so here goes: “There was good and bad,” UNT coach Eric Morris said. “The defense was better than the offense. We were a little sloppy on offense. We made a couple of big plays but were really bad in the red area and couldn’t punch the ball in.” I LOVE that Morris is willing to be so open and honest with BV regarding his thoughts on the team. For 7 years (and really longer than that because McCarney wasn't a treat either), we had bland coach speak that never really resulted in encouraging information. Even here where he's openly criticizing the team, it shows that he's not wearing green-tinted glasses and sets expectations. I don't know, I just really like his style of communication.
  14. Call me crazy, but if I'm a player, I want to see every face of the screaming fans that just saw me score a touchdown instead of my faint reflection in windows below some boosters who probably don't get out of their seat to clap. A facility like our renderings and like La Tech's monstrosity takes away valuable seats that could be filled with green-clad fans. Just because it's a "pretty building" doesn't mean it's a good thing. Again, call me crazy, but a stadium should be a stadium packed with fans as close as they can be to the action. It shouldn't be an office building offshoot.
  15. Guys, barring the explanation given being the God's honest truth, the answer is obvious. Abou knew he was going to transfer, and told Mac. He decided not to play in the NIT (or they decided together) so he wouldn't injure himself and hurt his prospects in the portal. At that point, they also wanted to cover for him not playing with his team in a postseason tournament when they needed him most (which would reflect on his commitment and integrity). Ergo, Abou will not play in the tournament due to a family emergency.
  16. Some might call this profile a "true" center. And I'm certainly okay with that.
  17. Sorry for the click bait, but I'm already rewatching the Wisconsin game. That layup but Sissoko around the 2:00 mark is just impressive but any measure, especially for a sophomore. This dude is rock solid and I'm predicting that he goes to the NBA when his career is over. I hope beyond all hope he finishes at UNT (with Mac🤞🏻) and brings the glory to himself and UNT. This is also based on more than this one game. His size and power in the lane is something we've rarely seen here and... HOT TAKE: HE'S BETTER THAN ABOU GO MEAN DAMN GREEN! WIN THE NIT!
  18. The worst part about almost every report for upcoming games in the NIT is that we're still shown as a 3-seed. Utter incompetence.
  19. The only question was which version of that cup the OP was asking about
  20. Another steal from Texas https://www.linkedin.com/in/skylar-phan-89338a1a9/
  21. Weird since Cincy was seeded and UVU wasn't. In any case, the lower seeded (or non-seeded) teams all won.
  22. Yes and no. He had every right to do it, but the school is obviously trying to turn things around with attendance. The leaders of the Maniacs are actually paid students, and that's something we never had before. Also, Altman is saying this from a winning P5 program. Mac isn't at that status yet, and if he goes sounding off on a G5 school about their attendance, other schools my take pause. Don't get me wrong, that would work in our favor, but would damage his chances for his next gig. All of this being almost irrelevant with the Tech news.
