  1. This guy is an impact player, if he plays smart football. I think the obstacles are all mental at this point.
  2. They sound silly, but I'd like to find a "xxx 'Em Eagles!" saying. Sick 'em Bears, Hook 'em Horns, Gig 'em Aggies, Wreck 'em Tech, etc. They're just cool and if you've never explained it to someone from out of state, really entertaining. Doesn't SHSU have one too? Maybe Houston?
  3. I'm more embarrassed of our record against the ponies.
  4. I can attest to being part of that "lost" fanbase that suffered as a student through Todd Dodge. But we're coming back.
  5. It won't last. Not with the list of other schools remaining.
  6. There's a legitimate shot at 11-1 if we beat Texas. Rice will have something to say about that one loss.
  7. NDSU v. Kansas State last year. They didn't return several starters and still play in 1-AA. Then they got paid to win at Kansas State. Whoops.
  8. Well, we both made an NCAA record. Something that Baylor tried to best repeatedly last year. What a terrible football defense in Waco. #Amirite? Hey Harry, let's start some hashtags up in here. "Hashbrown: selfie."
  9. Freaking wow. This place has got to be up there with the Alabama and Oregon digs. Anyone want to help donate to get this type of facility? http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24645734/look-texas-ams-renovated-football-complex-is-shiny
  10. Oh and by the way, if anyone is unable to find their way to this said party, you're more than welcome to have a few rounds with me and the UNT crew I know here in SA. We'll be having a good time on the riverwalk decked in Mean Green gear.
  11. Dropping the boom stick.
  12. Or find a willing alumni in the area with a guest bedroom!
  13. Absolutely! I live in SA, so any type of UNT party going on, I'm there in a heartbeat.
  14. This is absolutely correct. Being from Houston, but residing in SA really puts things into perspective when it comes to fan affiliation. 85% of the city backs the Cowboys, and I'm not sure a ton of those fans would flip to a new team coming into their own town. Further, we all know that the main reason the Raiders have begun talks is to scare Oakland into forking up cash for a new stadium. Lord knows they need it too. Let me be clear about this too: The Alamodome is the worst "professional ready" stadium in the United States. I'm really not trying to exaggerate when I say that the building will need a more than $100+ million renovation job to become something a team would want to play in. Even the Rangers/Astros series that was played here in March was a forgettable experience because the stadium was that dilapidated. The stadium's deficiencies are as follows: barely any concessions, restrooms that are few and far between, no more club level, useless suit boxes, only one scoreboard, no banner LED screens, and the list can go on and on. I'd love to see another Texas football team (I mean, come on. We're the best in the country at this game), but there are many many obstacles in the way.
  15. I'll set the over/under at 3
  16. It's not like there are about 4 "Death Valleys" in college football anyway...
  17. I suspect that Longhorn ranking is a little high though. Too many questions on a first year coach's team to be ranked, even if it is Big Orange.
  18. It's been a requirement for some time now. 3=day sessions and each session has a 2-hour presentation from Coach Mac and RV on the AD patio overlooking Apogee. Literally every freshman that attends classes in the fall will know about the team, the program, and UNT athletics. It's really a great motivator for students to come out to the first game, which is why I think the SMU game will actually be packed. Imagine the 6-7k freshman that will attend after the winning season we had!
  19. This guy gets it.
  20. Always nice to hear from a coach, even if it's a delusional Jones. Now let's prove him right.
  21. That's really too bad. These guys had so much potential.
  22. Nah. I was an OL in 2010 and they've been programming Mean Joe into the orientation sessions every year for the last 5 or so. They want to make sure the students know exactly who he is. It feeds straight back into the McCarney/RV/Athletic department pushing the athletics on the students. Something they should have never stopped doing after Joe left. (Damn you, Chilton.) Anyway, Congrats to Mean Joe Green! Long overdue!
  23. This is really great stuff. Great work!
