I really don't understand the problem with bloggers using the word "small" or "smaller." Is it really a big deal that the world know we're not actually a small school? Should we be perceived any higher or greater because we're not a small school? Hell, take a look at UTSA with it's 30,000 students. I don't hear it's students or alumni complaining about being considered "small," they're just doing something about it. The less we accentuate a blogger's use of the term, the less they use it themselves. But even still, it's justified in a lot of ways at the moment, so just let it go.

What's so wrong with self-promotion? It's not like he's wrong... And would you rather him come out and say "Yeah, we have a lot of challenges to get through, and to be honest I'm not sure if I can out-coach these other guys. Our guys are talented, but I might hold them back." EVEN if that was true, there's no coach in history from elementary P.E. to NFL that would say anything remotely close to that.

Why not North Texas?!

There will be some good teams this year, but I doubt we're going to have enough over a 7-5 record to cover all of our bowl tie-ins. a few 6-6 C-USA teams will still make a bowl over 7-5 or even 8-4 Sun Belt teams.

Would you really change a W to an L, or vice versa, based on who is under center?

Aren't all OOC games reffed by other conference officials? Also, he'll react like a re-injured player when Zachary Whitfield puts the hurt on him. If only our O-line could play both ways though...

Seriously, glad I wasn't the only one that thought this. These unis look awful all-around. I'd take any of our uniforms any day over these. Also, the retros didn't come close to touching the black with black carbon fiber helmets! You must be out yo mind!!

Chris, since you're still in the area, head over to Lou's one night and ask him about the bar the opened up in Austin a couple of years ago. That'd be a great spot and I'm sure he's coming down for the game.

That can't be right. Think of the Supreme court involving Vanna White. The court ruled that she had the right to her persona and for either just compensation or the right to deny her image and likeness. Similar to these college kids who don't want game companies or colleges to profit from their image without compensation. Graduation shouldn't be a factor. A cap may be constitutional, but not with a stipulation.

Unless we beat Texas, we don't crack the Top 25 for another 2 years addy least. It takes a lot to shrug off years of inferiority.

I like the thought, but I always think, " just wait until they get their foot put in their mouth." Mac knows what we are and when the time comes, he'll respond, but he won't be the first to throw the punch, and he'll put the other coach in his place.

Good God, I miss this team. If our defense becomes playmakers we could see a Mettenburger situation where he has to sit for a quarter or so.

I have the exact same story. In 2007 we beat FAU at home, but I was out of town visiting my then girlfriend. The question now, is, why did I ever let her come between me and those precious few-and-far-between wins!?

Seriously? You think SMU comes to our house and bests us? You're crazy. Losses @UT, @Indiana and either @Rice or @UTSA. I don't think we let both get by. Then again, there will be a La. Tech or FAU type game where we have no business losing, but end up doing so. That puts my prediction at 8-4. Oh boy.
