SL Press Conference -Skip to 6:18 mark
Jason Howeth replied to Philip Ferguson's topic in Mean Green Football
Sure, but I think, especially to Jones, and most likely to SL, there are more things than money. It may not be a good career move overall, but you can't boil everything down to a business decision in these scenarios. Careers aren't like normal investments, where you take the most profitable option if for no other reason than it's direct dealing of your own life. Trust me, when I invest, it's in the most profitable businesses/ventures (hello real estate!). But my career is different. I care about the people I work with, the vision I have for myself, location, family, etc. (not necessarily in that order). I believe these things mattered more to Jones, and matter more to SL. Especially if the report re: SL bringing over his whole staff or no-go is true. -
Wouldn't a 14-seed be our best seed in program history?

New Mexico Bowl Preview & Predictions
Jason Howeth replied to Philip Ferguson's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah this game is going to be QBs throwing the ball like the Rams/Chiefs game earlier in the NFL season. Tons of offense, both sides rack up video game numbers in their stat sheets, both running games establish a respect, which helps passing. The hope is that Mohammed, Hall, and Books can contain their WRs just enough. -

That GIF of McCasland in the locker room after the UTA game? (Or whenever it was, it's popped up recently)

2007, or 2010 would be my guess.

New Mexico Bowl Preview & Predictions
Jason Howeth replied to Philip Ferguson's topic in Mean Green Football
I think a lot of places are faulting USU for the coaching change, while a lot of others are ignoring it. Other factors include the teams being so similar, and no one really knowing how they play since they're both G5 programs. -
Gary Andersen Returning to Utah State as Head Football Coach

Is he going to coach the NM Bowl? -
I love this article. Tells me so much about the character of the coach we found.

Talk about putting the cart before the horse!

Lol, it seriously goes to the mindset of P5 schools when they believe any rumor to be true because a) it favors their school and b) their school is a "better" school than the one pitted against them. I get it, I guess. But, as the same time, these schools can screw off. I made a post earlier today in the SL Mega Thread, and I still stand by it. The nation is going to have to take notice of UNT, just like it has with UCF, Houston, et. al. -
tl;dr?

New Mexico Bowl Preview & Predictions

Those UNT helmets though... and basically the entire rosters. -
Just want to point out the doom and gloom that's always espoused on this board. To recap: we've kept our coach, despite a) a random reddit post; b) a non-sourced NTDaily Reporter (we all know our feelings of the NTDaily) tweeting utter nonsense; c) countless K-state fans posting their glee such as "IT'S LITTRELL!!"; d) fights over who has a larger budget and why; e) further K-State fans calling themselves "sources" (@BenKohl on Twitter); and f) our own unfounded despair without a single thread of truth. Now that we've been pleasantly surprised and shown that UNT is a more desirable place for a coach than a P5 school, I want everyone to take a minute, and think about how they've reacted to this news. Take that second to say "did I jump to conclusions? Was my fear grounded in reality? Am I being swayed by pure speculation? We're f***ing UNT. We don't get pushed around anymore, and we don't play second fiddle. We're here to win some games, championships, and bowls. We're here to shock the world in all athletics (s/o MBB, VB, Tennis, Soccer, and WBB). Our BIG NAME school can play with the best of them, and our fans should expect nothing less. It's time we all started acting like we belong at the table instead of falling into default "woe is me" mode. All that said, folks, let's do this. Let's be that fan base. I know you can do it.

Your glass is half empty.
-
Exactly. There's absolutely no reason UNT fans should harbour resentment or bitterness towards SL at the moment. And if he leaves, they still shouldn't! He's done more for this program in the last 3 years than anyone else in over a decade (probably more). I'd love to see our family react like Wren: congratulate him, wish him well, and thank him for the immeasurable advances he's fostered within the program.
-
By no fault of his own. Has he given any indication that he wants to leave for any school? Nothing to forgive and forget. What has he done besides be our coach and disassociate from rumor and speculation.
-
not blaming you at all, but I am blaming literally every one of the KSU fans who believe this kid is credible on the same level as a national sports writer.

Let's all pump the brakes. https://247sports.com/college/kansas-state/Article/Seth-Littrell-Kansas-State-coach-North-Texas-Gene-Taylor-125893707/Amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Seriously, I'm sorry, but we're letting an NTDaily reporter tell us this news? Call me skeptical at the least.
