It's Mean Green Night At The Ball Park In Arlington
Ryan Munthe replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
It's not that people are excited, it's that our alumni don't care about our athletic programs right now. But keep squeezing it to fit your narrative, Rick.- 28 replies

Rick Villarreal stepping down as AD
Ryan Munthe replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
So the prophecy says. Although 90 is curiously absent, leading me to worry that they're the same person. The banner was probably about the last reason he's gone.- 175 replies

Yes, we need coaches who threaten on-air media for not covering UNT. You're absolutely correct.

Why? Because I don't like Herman? Dude, I didn't like him when he was at OSU even though he won them a title and I'm partial to OSU because my father went there. His aggressive attitude isn't good for a program like UH if they want more local airtime. Win all they want, but you need to hook the casual fans, and UH's big coach having a meltdown, threatening an on air guy in the process, isn't really a good look. And, now the guy that he threatened on air is at FS1. You think Nick Wright is ever going to call up Herman for an interview to give them national publicity? It's bad business.

He's a good coach but a total moron. See his hilarious interview with SportsRadio610 (a watered down version of the Ticket) for more hilarity from this tool.

I'll be straight up honest. I went full troll because UNT90 made this board unreadable. My goal became to push him and the mods who wouldn't do anything to the point of losing their marbles in anger at me. 90 is legitimately the reason I have a low interest in UNT athletics in 2016. Because I realized that a majority of the fans were like him. Love this school and the teams of UNT. But I can't even enjoy them anymore. My life has literally been less depressing since I stopped posting here and reading 90's misery. UNT sports were an escape. This board was how I indulged in my escape. The attitude made it tedious. Chalk the ghost town that GMG is up to poor play all you want, the reality is that 90 has ruined Harry's forum. And for some freaking reason beyond my belief, they won't ban him. Stunning. Guess they want to go down with the ship.

Rebuilding trust within the North Texas fanbase
Ryan Munthe replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I've hit a point where I just, honestly, don't care. I guess that's bad. -
Proof of how bad things were in the locker room...

Been telling y'all all season this guy is a locker room cancer who has actively fought to ruin this season because of his ego. Good riddance.

Convention center approved with 5-2 vote
Ryan Munthe replied to Skipper's topic in Mean Green Football
Rayzor Ranch is Denton's soon-to-be-failed attempt to make a Southlake Town Square kinda thing. Problem is, there is no development over there and no big chains are interested. They rolled out plans by bragging about a WinCo Foods and a Great Clips, saying it would take approximately 20 years to complete. Reportedly an HEB is going there instead. Has Stonehill v2 written all over it. Denton turned it down originally because UNT wanted the taxpayers to fund a UNT convention center. Clearly not going to happen. Denton can't decide which way it wants to go. Frisco or Austin. This is a failed attempt to be Frisco. Bigger problem is the insulated cult of "don't talk bad about city council or we will rip you to shreds on the tweets" when you criticize things like this passing, or the city council backing the fracking ban until the idiots in Austin backed up their threats (they knew it would happen, still led everyone on). Now they want to build some event center to pull the festivals off the Square. It's whatever. Creeping suburbanization is going to hit Denton, and the city council is just gonna let for the sake of "development". -
November 2010 to present; what has really changed?
Ryan Munthe replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed. CUSA hasn't really done much for our attendance, the name draw was a lie. I don't get why the locals don't come out either. I've theorized various guesses, but Denton would be any other of the "I have a grandma who lives there" towns in North & East Texas if it wasn't for us. All I can figure out is that a lot of people look at the football team as an afterthought, a drain on the university...they would be spirited either way. Stupid and misinformed, yes. But all I can figure out. We would be Lamar if we didn't field a football team. -
November 2010 to present; what has really changed?
Ryan Munthe replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
Bingo. I don't think many people remember that we lost 66-7, just that we got obliterated by a team we paid to play. But do you think current UNT students or casual fans remember UNT vs OU years back? Probably not. To the casual UNT fan who went to the HoD, it's just the same ol' UNT. Essentially, no one cares that we lost by 60 to an FCS. All that matters is the L and the fact that we paid them to beat us badly. But it also got McCarney fired and put Rick under fire, so it is a blessing, isn't it? I guess I don't think the loss is something that's going to haunt our program for years. I've been saying for YEARS that the esteem most of Texas holds us in is the same as Sam Houston State. And we need to fix that. Claiming the PSU debacle is going to set us back 5 years is asinine. We're still where we were last year. -
John Adams: North Texas the perfect chance to rest starters
Ryan Munthe replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed. But we're 1-8. We are that low. -
Every G5 school sans ECU and Marshall struggles with attendance. People aren't showing up because we're not winning.
