DRC: Apogee five years later Part I

No, it's that I think that the current athletic facilities arms race is idiotic and unreasonably raising tuition. The Pit needs an upgrade. Football locker room needed a slight touch-up. What we have should be top-tier facilities, but no, we're spending oodles of taxpayer money so that kids can have six 60" TVs to watch their performance versus Bethune-Cookman or Portland State.- 35 replies

DRC: Apogee five years later Part I

Tom Herman's quote was so cringey. I'm starting to think I'm becoming disillusioned with college football. If our facilities are only middle of the road, I'm not sure I want to support state of the art. -
I like the way we brand ourselves now. Rick did that right. UNT=university NT=athletics NT unites everyone who ever went here no matter the school name.
-
NTSU has better name recognition, without a doubt. But the name "North Texas State" is way too third-rate directional college for me.

We swiped cards and then gave them a ticket.

They do have a cap, and that cap is only hit once or twice a year for the big games at schools, like, for example, Tech. Schools rarely hit their caps anymore. Here's a WSJ story on struggling student turnout from back in 2013. I also said, "other than A&M" because they are the exception. http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702304795804579097223907738780 Increasing student attendance was my job. If we're good, and playing against a team people care about, students come out. See the 12,000 students that sacrificed their Halloween to see us beat Rice.

You do realize UNT student attendance was higher than a lot of Big 12 schools in 2013, right? Most P5 schools, other than A&M, get about 10,000 students in the gates. There a lot of things we don't do well, and I would heavily, and I mean, heavily disagree that student attendance is something we don't do well. Everything being brought up in this thread in regards to that topic are things that are already being done, as well. You are really uninformed on this topic.

To be fair, sans last year, our student turnout has been consistently strong at Apogee.

Take the time to make the right hire, and don't go public with the search. Don't need a circus, nor to hastily pick our AD.

How incredibly racist of you. But I'm not necessarily surprised. Enjoy the day! I'm outta here. The usual suspects are at it again.- 42 replies

Well, I mean saying he acted alone is a possibility. Clearly appears to be at least associated with BLM but doubtful BLM would condone this kind of behavior when all it does is hurt them in the long run. What I find odd is that they seem to have military training. Wouldnt recommend watching the video, but there is a clip where one of the shooters ambushes a cop. Definitely some tactical training. -

Dave Campbell's Texas Football 2016: UNT worst in Texas

I still have no idea how these mags have us rated lower than nUTSAck lol. They have Todd Dodge for a coach and they were left with a similar talent problem.
