  1. No, something different. John Williams and I are putting this on because we like beer. We're partying for ten days straight. Including christmas. Try to keep up man. Not because I am a graphic designer who might also be the king of typos. Not at all. Stop by! (On the 27th.)
  2. Goddamn typos will be the death of me Also I do work at a brewery. *shrug*
  3. Folks! John Williams and I are setting up a tailgate for the 2016 Heart of Dallas Bowl...come tailgate with us! I'm bringing lots of Saint Arnold beer...leaving at 4am from Houston after a flight from Atlanta that gets in at 10pm the night before. Wish me luck. We'll be in Lot 12, look for the Red, White and Blue Saint Arnold flag with the UNT Texas flag underneath it & the red Saint Arnold truck. It'll operate like it did for the SMU game when we did a similar tailgate. I am requesting that if you do plan on stopping by, please RSVP on this thread. Not a formal thing or anything, just to get an idea of how many folks will be attending. Go Mean Green!
  4. Lot 12. I'll make a new thread about it. Hopefully I can make it, I'm gonna end up with like five hours of sleep in between a plane flight and a drive to Dallas. (Jk, not missing this game in any circumstance.)
  5. Davis at FIU is huge and a great hire. He might even stay there. Kiffin at FAU is a disaster in waiting.
  6. Can we lay off the gossip and rumors and just wish the kid well?
  7. http://m.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/UH-president-jokes-that-Major-Applewhite-needs-10787845.php?cmpid=fb-desktop Major is under serious pressure to win now...backing up my the criticism of the program. Great way to instill confidence into your new coach. All Khator cares about is athletics.
  8. Strong will do well at USF but Kiffin at FAU is a disaster in waiting.
  9. I think it's great for UNT. UH hired a coach who was in conversation to be a coach here.
  10. Khator totally deserves a lot of the blame. I think that a lot of it lays on Herman's feet though. All of the UH trolls can downvote me all you'd like...what I posted are FACTS. UH is in deep shit financially because they banked on the Big 12. That's true, look at the books in the linked Texas Tribune article. They have been mooching off academics FOR YEARS. Didn't say it was part of the plan. I'm saying that making the playoffs would've left them in a far superior spot than they are in now, had Herman not been dreaming of an #AustinTakeover they would be in the playoffs.
  11. The buyout is nuts--the next team would have to pay UH his remaining contract, and Applewhite would receive none of that remaining money. Fertita continues to live in the delusion that UH is a destination spot for coaches. If he cares so much he needs to put his money where his mouth is and bankroll UH T. Boone Pickens style.
  12. Because Herman is the reason the team is not in the playoffs this year. Had they made the playoffs they would've had a substantial bump in money incoming this year that would offset the $100mil deficit. Yet every time there was any controversy surrounding Herman's job the team would lose. UH was easily a top 4 team from top to bottom. It was almost as if he was interviewing instead of gameplanning. Also what I said is true, Texas Tribune did a highly critical article on UH's athletic spending last year. The debt issue I heard on the radio this morning, except it was on 610 so all the UH homers will say it's not true. Call me delusional, I'd much rather be in UNT's situation than UH's. Their research and academic spending has stalled after they reached Carnegie Top Tier, as has their endowment because they threw $100million from academics to athletics. UNT's student body would've revolted if we had done that.
  13. I think you mean Fort Worth or Denton County.
  14. UH is in deep shit. They have overspent their athletic budget by about $100million and have already taken an exorbitant amount of money from their academic side, expecting to receive that B12 money. They had to take the safe route and go Applewhite. UH is so desperate reportedly Applewhite will lose a massive amount of his salary if he leaves as part of the contract. At some point the Texas legislature will come down on UH very hard and this hiring signals that UH is in shit financial straits. They realized that they are going to remain a stepping stone and the P5 is a pipe dream, so did what has worked for the last decade plus rather than go for the jugular with a Les Miles type hire. Plus, the mafia kingpin said they'd "renew the coaching search" if Major wins less than 9 games. This situation is a ticking time bomb. UH can thank Herman for their shitty spot.
  15. In all honesty, Fine HAS to stop holding the ball so long and taking the big sack. If he did that, I think we would be immensely more successful with him on offense.
  16. I think it's important for his development as a QB start. My two cents.
  17. Who cares? BE AT THE GAME, FOLKS! We *need* to bring 30K again. Emphasis on NEED.
  18. Also John & I are putting together tailgate at 9am at the cotton bowl sponsored by East/Oak/Dots and Saint Arnold similar to what we did for SMU. No details yet though.
  19. Curious as to how the acoustics will work, but I love it.
  20. When I ran FillApogee I was all over everybody with any relation to UNT. Unfortunately the kid who runs that account is too busy talking about EDM parties.
  21. So autocorrect corrects couldn't to could? Sure. Likely story. Just a coincidence that that's one of the most routinely made grammatical errors, right? Just own your error and move on.
  22. So you do care but could care a little less?
  23. We're 5-7, get ahold of yourself.
  24. I'm flying in from Atlanta Monday night and then leaving for Dallas at like 4am. Missed the last one, won't miss this one.
