  1. I won't be surprised if they just let it run out. 2020 will be a lame duck year while they try to find his replacement. It seems he's going to fall to the same fate as McCarney, trying to fit too many square pegs in round holes. SEC style ground and pound just isn't sustainable at the G5 level.
  2. Yeah and I'd think Spavital will only get better in that second year with more of his players. Wilson's job is entirely hinging on Frank Harris, if he goes down or underperforms, Wilson is gone.
  3. Actually yes. I tried it a few weeks ago. It's not bad, definitely got a little kick to it though.
  4. The more responsibility we hand to the government, the less individual liberty we have. "Conservative", Liberal, doesn't matter, it's all too powerful, too bloated, and inefficient. Venezuela is just another example of the dangers of a single central authority planning the economy.
  5. Not to mention all of those delicious sandwiches from Jimmy Johns
  6. I think the biggest question for me is: If we hold on to Littrell past the 2019 season, and he doesn't have Mason Fine, how are we going to fare? Not that I think Littrell isn't building a solid roster full of good players, but an all time great QB can cover up a LOT of deficiencies.
  7. You're also bidding for future coaches. Now it's not "how much will we pay?" its "Look how much we can pay you" Littrell will leave at some point. When he does, $1.6 Million is a hell of a lot more attractive than $800k to prospective coaches
  8. I think Darden can though. His shiftiness is next level. I don't want to say he's Brelan level dangerous yet, but he's not far off.
  9. Wow, ahead of Jake Fromm? That's big time
  10. Be nice if Nixon could crack the starting lineup. We need the same speed/athleticism at LB to really make the defense go. Like Troy Reffett says: "We can blitz all day, doesn't make a difference if you don't get home"
  11. It's almost as if the government giving out unrestricted subsidized loans would cause universities to raise costs to match those loans.... Government: Hey kid here's $200k in loans School that previously cost $100k: Hey kid, we've raised our prices. Now it's $200k
  12. Luckily, we have Jared Mosley as well. He was extremely successful at ACU, and has probably only gotten better under Wren's leadership. I think we're in good hands either way
  13. Looks like he might go by Kade on 247? https://247sports.com/player/kade-renfro-46080486/
  14. It's really unfortunate. I was thoroughly enjoying their constant bitching and complaining the last few seasons.
  15. Well I only started really watching UNT in 2013 so my list is a bit limited: 1. Mason Fine 2. Zach Orr 3. Brelan Chancellor 4. Sarge McCoy 5. Jeff Wilson 6. Marcus Trice 7. Jaelon Darden 8. Mason Y'Barbo 9. Derek Thompson 10. Kishawn McClain
  16. I haven't been around to see them all, but put me in the camp that Mason Fine is the greatest QB to ever play for UNT up until this point.
  17. He's putting his whole body into this one, but this throw is damn near 60 yards:
  18. Benn has been solid for us, I agree with Zucc, and Polak wasn't big and physical enough for you? Johns being out this year was no help either. I like the young guys we have. Hintz and Heiskanen are gonna be studs.
  19. It seems we always talk about the future contract of Littrell and how much we're going to pay the next coach etc etc, but I think at this point, extending/giving a raise to Wren Baker should be the number 1 priority on Smatresk's list. After Softball captured a conference title with yet another one of Wren Baker's hires, the proof is in the pudding to me. Maybe I'm still a bit jaded because a monkey humping a doorknob would be more effective than RV, but Baker has been next level in comparison. This guy is a bonafied AD and I'm of the mindset that we should be doing everything necessary to keep him. Just a thought I had after this year's string of success
  20. I'm not sure if it's Reffett's preference or what he's just had to work with, but it always seems like he has more of a quick ball hawk type(Kemon Hall, Eric Jenkins) and pairs them with a longer, more physical corner(Nate Brooks, Jordan Roberts, Quinn Whitlock). Seems to me that we'll be continuing that trend with Johnson and Roberts.
  21. Good article on Reeder and his Offensive Philosophy: https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2019/04/16/how-bodie-reeder-plans-to-build-winning-offense-at-north-texas?ref=article_preview_img
