  1. I place most of the blame on Littrell and Reffett. That being said, when he had to make plays, he usually didn't.
  2. And Harvey was getting burned every time they threw it his way
  3. Not only did they not help, they arguably performed worse than the guys we already had
  4. I think the biggest difference is every team Traylor has coached for has run some sort of a spread offense. I think he'll have a better handle on what their offense will look like. Frank Wilson was an SEC ground and pound guy. He tried to fit a square peg(SEC smashmouth offense) into a round hole(CUSA - most teams run the spread) I think Traylor fits the CUSA mold a lot better.
  5. The way he speaks and his approach to athletics is so refreshing in comparison to RV. Can you imagine, as much progress as we've made for the last few years, if Wren had been here longer? I might not have as much faith in Littrell as I did a few years ago, but I damn sure have faith in Wren. Dude is an absolute stud, and I'm glad we have him.
  6. Yeah I wasn't trying to tell what was or wasn't a single malt or a bourbon, just that the particular single malt I mentioned does have the sweeter/vanilla tones as compared to a standard single malt. For someone who doesn't enjoy single malts as much, but likes bourbon, it's a good fit for my palate.
  7. Just my thoughts based on the limited time I've seen from both QB's Marquise Williams put up great numbers at NC and success under Littrell and he was definitely used in the QB run game. I guess I'm just scarred from the "running" QB's we've tried in the last 15 years.
  8. Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare are my two favorites(although more difficult to find these days). Evan Williams is my favorite cheap bourbon Another one I'd recommend is Balcones Single Malt. It's not a traditional Bourbon per se, but somewhere in between a bourbon and a single malt. it's a little more expensive ($60-70 a bottl) but highly recommended. Plus it's distilled in Waco, so that's a plus.
  9. Also, while we're on the topic of defunding the police, can we also defund the ATF? Asking for a friend
  10. Agreed. 3,000 yards is 250 per game. Littrell has only had one season as an OC/HC where his QB(or combined QBs) didn't throw for 3,000+ yards and that was 2016(Morris and Fine) I expect Aune to win the job and put up decent numbers (3,000+ yds and 20+ TD's)
  11. *I'ma make it count when the coaches switch me to WR because I have too many turnovers* FTFY
  12. for the uninformed, that's Barbara Teakell. She's a pretty damn good outside for the VB team
  13. It's very much deserved. Best QB in school history and a solid roster otherwise can't excuse going 4-8. Littrell flopped last year and I'm concerned if he'll get back to a bowl game
  14. Entirely depends on if we do this baylor offense or not. If it's standard run of the mill Littrell Air Raid, then I see 5-7. Baylor offense might get us to 7-5 I think our defense will improve, but if we switch to zone midseason for "personnel reasons" then I give up. Gaddie and Cam Johnson should fill both corner roles. Aune Passes for 3500 yards, 25 TD's and 10 INTs, Bean switches to WR
  15. Maybe. We have a solid enough RB depth chart. Either way he's gonna have to learn to not take dumb chances on throws he could make in high school.
  16. DLine definitely has the most exciting prospects overall. I'm interested to see the TE's. Especially now that Khatib Lyles has moved to the position. Should be a very athletic group. Christian Lee might even play as a true freshman. He's so athletic Also excited to see the development of Deonte Simpson. He looked good as a true freshman, and could be a huge compliment to Darden and Shorter.
  17. ITT: The state has a monopoly on violence. Always has. Nothing will change. Statists gonna statist Edit: Buy a gun.
  18. I think Aune will win the job. Bean throws into coverage way too often. I'm not sure our offense can afford that many turnovers
  19. Worked for Oklahoma State a few years ago. They'd use Mason Rudolph to get them inside the 20, then switch to JW Walsh and run some interesting run/pass options and packages to take advantage of his athleticism
  20. Mason wasn't drafted because of his height. Look at Rakeem Cato. He was every bit as good as Mason and had more postseason success. He never got a shot either and he's listed at 6' James Morgan is 6'4", Alex McGough is 6'3". If Mason could run like Kyler Murray or was as stocky as Russell Wilson it might've been different, but while Mason is mobile, he's not running a 4.38 anytime soon, and he ain't gonna gain 20 pounds and keep his mobility(even Wilson ran a 4.5) Height doesn't matter as much in college. NFL scouts aren't willing to take a chance on a sub 6' QB that can't also outrun everyone.
  21. Just buy the secondary cover. Much better looking and celebrates all of Texas football
  22. Shorter has some huge shoes to fill. He came on late last season, but I really think Darden could approach 100 catches this year. With Lawrence and Smith(who was pretty much absent last year too) gone, Darden is gonna be that guy going across the middle and making plays up the seams. Shorter is gonna be great outside, but I think Darden will be the safety blanket, and I think that makes him much more important. That being said, I'm curious to see who emerges as the starting tight end as they could have a huge role as well
  23. Agreed. Excited but curious. Doesn’t this put our QB room at like 8 deep now? Maybe an insurance policy in case the Aune/Bean experiment doesn’t work? Then again more competition never hurt anyone so who knows.
  24. Not that Mason Fine is Tom Brady, but he was pick 199 so the entire league thought there was 198 players better than the greatest QB of all time. We all know some team is gonna get a stud with Fine. Same with Hamilton
  25. Right and in the air raid, the Y is more of a big bodied inside receiver than a tight end. Think Jace Amaro as a prime example from Tech a few years back. Sure he was a tight end by name, but never put his hand in the ground from what I remember. Lyles could be helpful there.
