Possible Darden replacement for next year??
MGNation92 replied to Uncle's topic in Mean Green Football
Ogunmakin played well depending on who was throwing the ball. This isn't another AUNE GOOD BEAN BAD comment. I'm just saying he seemed to get more targets when Aune was throwing, same with Simpson -

Aune to Bean after the game

Stating facts puts you on a team it seems

He torched every team he played against(including us). Would love to see him here

Darden declares for NFL draft
MGNation92 replied to NorthTexasSportsNetwork's topic in Mean Green Football
A player to compare Darden to is Richie James from MTSU. Similar size (James is 5'10 185) and similar stats, although James only played 2.5 years and Darden played 4. James was drafted in the 7th round, pick 240 -

App State - 49 UNT - 21 -
Until Bean can learn to process more than one read, then Aune is our best bet from the returning group. I don’t care if he has game breaking speed, he’s only used it a handful of times this season and it hasn’t been this massive game changing difference that we thought it would. As a QB you still have to be able to throw the ball and make the proper reads. He’s not very good at those. Aune isn’t much better, but he is better throwing the ball and spreading it around, and that gives us the best chance to win.

‘21 QB Bryce Drummond - Pawhuska, OK [SIGNED LOI]

Let's hope he comes in and breaks all of his coach's records. Love that Fine is coaching him. He's gonna be a good one for sure -
Coach Bloesch nominated for Frank Broyles Award

agreed. Best OL coach we've had since Brad Davis -
I'd take Briles in a heartbeat. Is he a piece of shit? 100% Will he win games and put us in the national spotlight(good and bad)? 100% Plenty of coaches are bad people. Not many win that much.

The problem is our QB's are so bad that Darden is often the only target. Seth has called more than plenty of one receiver routes for Bean/Aune.

With the utter lack of discipline this team has, I'd call it a toss up. Give me: UTEP - 31 UNT - 35
-
Easiest one. We don't win
-
I would love to see a 4 man front, but Seth has this weird fascination with trying to put 3 DL against 5 OL and thinking it's gonna work well Bowen clearly isn't as aggressive of a blitz caller as Reffett, and that's how you get pressure with this scheme. If you just hang back 5 in coverage every snap you're gonna get torched on the ground

Would love to see us bring him in. He can sling it

LaTech - 45 UNT - 21 14 of our points come in garbage time when LaTech is playing prevent defense

2020 Version of UNT State of the Football Union Poll
MGNation92 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Wheels off. Bean and Aune are both equally bad in different ways, and seemingly run two different versions of the playbook based on their perceived strengths, and even then Seth's playcalling has not benefited those perceived strengths. Seth can't find a DC to save his life. Remember when nUTSAck had Pete Golding? He's literally the DC of Alabama now. Seth will never have that. Zero discipline across the board outside of a handful of players, but they aren't doing enough to keep the rest of the team in line. Get rid of Seth, find someone better. I understand 2020 is tough and I don't expect him to get the axe after this season, but 2021 isn't going to be much better, unless Bryce Drummond comes in and saves our ass like Mason did -

And to think we couldn't do the same 🥴

Skip Holtz is a better coach than Seth Littrell. I don't expect us to win
