2021 North Texas Football Way Too Early Schedule Predictions
MGNation92 replied to meangreen11's topic in Mean Green Football
I agree with the above comments. If Littrell doesn't hit at least 6 wins, he should be shown the door. That being said, if we can solidify the QB position(either Aune or Ruder FULL TIME, unless of course they have a horrendous 6 turnover game or something like that) and the defense, we should be more than competitive in arguably the worst conference in FBS -
Oh you mean the national championship he won at Florida as a D-Line coach? They clearly out-Iowa'd everyone that year

If only other teams could understand how Iowa got to Iowa by being Iowa in Iowa

‘21 LB Grady Brewer - Rockwall Heath (PWO?)
MGNation92 replied to 97and03's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Honestly fine by me. Maybe it'll change with a 4-2-5, but we have been absolutely gashed on the ground under Littrell. Give me a good run stuffer all day. We have enough DB's/quicker LB's to cover -

Which player makes the biggest program impact in 2021?
MGNation92 replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I'd say one of the twins. Having pressure off the edge will be huge, and they'll benefit from a 4 man front a lot more -
I guess, but you are the head coach. Bennett seems to be doing Littrell a favor here, which is fine by me, but letting him dictate what could possibly cost your job? Talk about slippery implications.
-
I think the more worrisome thought for me is that Littrell is basically coaching for his job at this point, and he decides to hire a guy with zero experience on the DL. Bennett is obviously a fantastic DC, but hitching your wagon to a guy like that is a huge dice roll that seems like its more than likely destined to hit snake eyes. I hope to God I'm wrong and Passwaters is the next coming of Bill Belichick, but I'm a pessimist so I'm expecting the worst.

BBQ in Denton?
MGNation92 replied to letsgiveacheer's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I mean it's not the best, but I love Roosters. Always been a favorite Denton restaurant of mine. -
You can now in year 6. There's no excuse for having a bad history. If you're the coach that's going to put us on the map, you've had the time to invest in your guys, your staff, and your program. I'd say the biggest problem has been our inability to develop quality OL/DL prospects for the next level. LaTech routinely has D-linemen go in the 2-4th round seemingly every year. WKU seems to have solid OL prospects every year. We can only get so far with receivers and running backs, especially when there's a wealth of talent at both positions every year.

^^^^^^This I would kill to have Skip Holtz coach for the Mean Green. He routinely develops guys for the next level and remains competitive year in and year out. Littrell has a glimmer of that, but nowhere near the consistency.

Chris Petrilli Promoted to OLB/ST Coach
MGNation92 replied to MGNation92's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah he's a gun for hire, always looking for the next paycheck, nothing more. -

My point was all inclusive. Black people have been terrorized by the police since the country was founded. You can even point to FDR putting Japanese people in camps. Hispanics in cages/cells on the border since forever. Native Americans being relocated and forced to live in "designated areas". The Vietnam Draft. It goes on. Our government has plenty of blood on it's hands, both historically and present day. My point is tyrannical governments do what tyrannical governments do. Deal with people they don't like

Since I posted the article and started this .....discussion, I'll throw in my two cents. The only things police should be enforcing are the rights to liberty for all people. Other than that, every law can, at some point, be enforced at the end of a gun. They are a weapon of the State, and as the State grows in power and totalitarianism, the police will enforce it (Right or left) Decriminalizing non-violent crimes would be a start. But, the government enjoys power too much to let that happen. If you want an extreme left case, look at China. Nazi Germany for the extreme right. Hell if you want to look at America, look at what police officers did to people of color for hundreds of years. As long as we continue to elect politicians that are more concerned with lining their pockets than letting people be free to make their own decisions and live their lives, we will continue to see this kind of brutality. Am I saying to abolish police? Maybe. But at the least, we should heavily diminish what they can do. That, and arm yourself to the teeth. Probably gonna get downvoted into oblivion, but that's to be expected. Taxation is theft. The government hates you, and will have no qualms about murdering you, your kids, and your dog. Police only help to enable that. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

UNT Signee Willie Simmons reported as victim in Austin shooting
MGNation92 replied to ADLER's topic in Mean Green Football
Such a tragic event. My heart goes out to the family and community. Without sounding too heartless, as I'm genuinely curious, what happens to his scholarship? I'm not sure I've ever heard of this situation before, so I'm not sure what the procedures would be.
