  1. Absolute home run hire. He could turn our program around in a heartbeat
  2. Makes one wonder if Kittley (the OC) will get some bigger looks this offseason. He can clearly coach offense and comes from the Kingsbury/Air Raid family
  3. With McCarney it quickly turned into
  4. I was a student at that game. Can confirm I was absolutely roasted, but ecstatic with the win. 2013 was my first football season at UNT (transferred in the spring) and I thought that's how it would be every year. Little did I know the crushing disappointment that was to come
  5. You know more than I do. I'm not expecting Wren to hire him, but I think he'd be a better option than some give him credit for I'm assuming the job is Fuente's if he wants it/is fired from VT
  6. I know we've talked ad nauseum about Harrell and him potentially returning, not being HC material etc. This video popped up on my youtube the other day and it made me believe he could be a good head coach, the way he connects with guys, fires them up when they make a mistake. A lot of you naysayers say that he doesn't have the personality to be a HC, I'd say this video begs to differ
  7. Considering he's now making as much as some high level P5 jobs, it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
  8. Underdog Dynasty definitely has it in for us. It's constant negative press unless we're winning 10 games. Even the positive stuff is spun to have a "but if X happens, then it's gonna die a horrible death" section in it.
  9. He liked one of my tweets about firing Littrell so it's not surprising.
  10. It has to be on the QB coach. You go from Graham Harrell, one of the greatest college QBs of all time, to Bodie Reeder, a one year flop, to Tate Wallis who didn't even coach in the season, to Blake Joseph, a High school coach. Mason was incredibly special, but Harrell was a HUGE boost to our offense, especially for the QB. That's why so many people are even considering him being the HC here. You don't have a team if you don't have a QB.
  11. Above all else I want UNT to succeed. That being said, and as much as I hate to say it, I hope we lose this game and I hope Littrell is fired promptly after. That will allow UNT to succeed more than any false hope that we get with a win.
  12. Quinn Whitlock has been absolutely abysmal this year. No reason why he should still be starting
  13. If he's not we're gonna have a very empty stadium and a very angry fanbase next year
  14. Was out shopping with my wife and saw a guy decked out in UNT stuff with a sweet battle flag hat. Thought it was him but threw up the claw and gave him a Go Mean Green. He asked if I was alum and I said yes and he said he coached there. I asked him if he was coach DeLong and we talked a bit about the team. Told him losing Hope was a big blow but he said he had a couple pitchers with live arms and is expecting a good team for the next 2-3 seasons. Also told him I hoped we could hang on to him and he said his family loved Denton so much, they decided to stay even after being contacted by a Big 12 school. Seemed like a down to earth guy. Really happy we have him as our Softball coach and gives me hope that Wren will make a similar impactful hire for football.
  15. A name that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Chris Thomsen. Obviously had success at ACU when Mosley was the AD there I'm not necessarily saying he should be the HC here but he's a name that's been thrown out in the past
  16. I have it on good authority that the ghost of Tom Landry has been in serious talks with the UNT staff. It's basically a done deal folks. Can't reveal my sources but they're definitely legitimate and never wrong
  17. I'm hoping Wren is already interviewing candidates if this is the case. We need to have our guy in place the minute Littrell is gone, if he is to finish out the season. We need another Grant Mccasland or Rodney DeLong desperately. If we flop on this FB hire we're doomed to mediocrity in a brand new conference rather than showing just how much we deserve to be in that conference.
  18. SMU isn't stupid. There are plenty on here that think they look down on us as the inferior blue collar commuter school. The reality is we fill their stadium, and give an organic rival 30 minutes down the road that's now a conference game. It's all about money at this point, and SMU makes more with us than without us. SMU knows this and we know this.
  19. Navy stays in the west because its better recruiting for them. They get more cadets from the area. It doesn't make sense geographically, but for school recruiting purposes you have a lot more southerners/Texans signing up than you would in the east
  20. A mountain time zone
  21. Skip Holtz would be incredibly consistent. He routinely gets the most out of his guys, and they're rarely out of any game sans P5 bodybag games. Sign me up
  22. Seth had no HC experience coming here and we were ecstatic. Now, the supposed offensive guru is lost without his actual offensive guru OC. Sign me up. You know the QB situation would be fixed
  23. Marshall - More than us North Texas - Less than them Par for the season really
  24. No. I'm done with him. He would need multiple ten win seasons, multiple bowl wins, and multiple conference championships for me to support him again. He is not a good option for our university anymore. Wish him the best of luck, just not here. We need someone else
  25. Very true. So far all of Baker's actual hires have been homeruns. I trust his judgement in finding the best coach possible.
