Interesting note from his Wiki page:
-
As in he solely focuses on offense and not defense? And even then his offense isn't really that good?

If we were concerned about Mac's health, I would be deathly afraid of this guy:

There are a few choice things I would leave on RV's doorstep, and none of them involve pumpkins

I hate them because we should've won the conference in 2013 and they kept us from doing so. I also hate them because Zac Whitfield went full retard against them last year and ruined a potential tying score. We should beat them up and down the field and yet we always seem to shoot ourselves in the foot against them.

Halloween Game Vs UTSA (Kid Events?)
MGNation92 replied to Withers940's topic in Mean Green Football
Rick Villarreal - "Festivities? We have a nice stadium. Your kids should practically live here. In fact, your whole family should live here. LOOK AT THE STADIUM" -
One guy I'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet in the "young OC" group is Rhett Lashlee from Auburn. Has been under some successful run-first spread teams under Gus Malzahn. Plus according to this article(2012 so he could be making more now.) he is making 350k a year. We could easily double that http://www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2012/12/auburn_releases_the_salaries_f.html

This. I grew up in Midland, about an hour away from Lubbock. I chose North Texas because it wasn't Tech. I hate Tech, and 3/4 of my high school class went there. North Texas offered a new experience and I had to get out of West Texas.

This. Although to be fair, I'm not donating because we don't win. I don't want RV to be AD, but if by some miracle(we're talking less than winning the lottery chances) he creates winning programs in the big 3 sports, I will donate. Either way it doesnt matter. The student athletes still get their scholarships whether I donate or not. It's simple. Win and I'll donate. I already gave enough money to the university and continue to support through the alumni association, but I don't like throwing valuable things into a bottomless pit.

Why would we do that? The music department is actually successful

UNT - 28 Marshall - 45 DaMarcus Smith - 23/40 265 yards 4 td's 3 turnovers. 75 yards on the ground
-
My Response: RV's rebuttal:
-
I was completely unaware we were also looking at Jimbo Fisher, as in the coach who just recently won a national championship. Excuse my french here, but what the fuck UNT? What. The. Fuck

Air Raid/Read Option/Pistol Offense 4-2-5 defense since our linebackers only seem to weigh 220 anyways. Zone blitzes out the ass Run the ball well and set up the vertical passing game. You don't want to be Mike Leach's version of the Air Raid, you want to be Art Briles version of the Air Raid. Much more balanced and effective in my opinion

FootballScoop: President to make hire
MGNation92 replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
That article says nothing about Smatresk making the hire -
Here's something crazy. What if UNT90 and Rick Villarreal are the same person?

MGB: Quick Canales presser notes, DaMarcus Smith video
MGNation92 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
To be fair, at least FCS/D-II schools would be happy to have DaMarcus. They wouldn't touch McNuggets/Greer with a 10 foot pole -
I wonder if Smatresk has his secretary open his letters first and check for smallpox/sars before he'll touch them. Is university president that high of a profile position to have one of those? Hmmmm

I was there. Derek Thompson sat right next to me. On the outside, my demeanor was calm, but on the inside I was like a giddy school girl

MGB: Villarreal -- "We have things we need to finish here"
MGNation92 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
To be honest, only being in my early 20's I feel like the minority on this board. Although ironically enough I agree with most of the 40+ year olds, and I've only been at it a few years.
