Look at what Justin Fuente did at Memphis. He sat and waited on a lot of guys who were looking for more offers that didn't come for the first two years of his tenure before they started really winning. His first couple of recruiting classes weren't great and he got a guy by the name of Paxton Lynch who was only a 2 star recruit and turned into a first round draft choice. Now Memphis regularly battles with and beats out P5 schools for recruits I wont be surprised if Littrell and Co follow suit. Year 3 has always been my Go to for really evaluating a coaching staff. I wont be surprised to see us improving exponentially in the next two seasons and really blowing the lid off of things. Trust this staff. I guarantee you they know what they're doing

MGB: Michael Sewell Jr. talks about committing to UNT

Dee Baulkman, Khairi Muhammad, and Ashton Preston would beg to differ with you -
Does everyone expect Mason Fine to start at HOD ?
MGNation92 replied to greenjoe's topic in Mean Green Football
I would say the system/blocking schemes he ran in highschool were a lot more similar than what was run at Alabama -

Wholeheartedly agree. Fine did have some moments but the Defense/Run Game bailed him out a lot and that's the reality of this season. Pearson and Isadore are both very talented and having them here will ramp up the competition and make everyone better. -
http://ccsportstalk.podbean.com/e/unt-athletic-director-wren-baker/ Great interview of Wren Baker. I think the future is very bright under his leadership.

Especially in an offense predicated on being able to stretch the field vertically and where the fade is run frequently

Man this stealth recruiting is mind boggling as frustrating to watch from a fan perspective. I can understand wanting the right guys for your system/team, but there are a lot of guys that have multiple D1 offers that would fit our team

MGB: Breaking news -- Goree finds new home
MGNation92 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Well it's a good thing our best receiver isn't graduating and that we have several top notch recruits to take his place Oh wait -
I would say it is very much time to worry. Lack of offers, lack of visits. I know our recruiting budget isn't great, but weren't these guys supposed to be heads and tails above McCarney's staff? It's been pretty laughable so far. Year 1 recruiting cycle was understandable. Year 2 recruiting cycle, to this point in the year, has been absolutely abysmal

False. You're talking about helmets like Lake Dallas uses: Our Chrome Helmets are legitimately the tail/wings of the SOW:

The salt of all the nUTSAck fans is pretty hilarious

someone went to Odessa High....

Midland Christian is always a football powerhouse. The fact that they regularly win state/compete for state titles tells you something. I knew a lot of kids at Lee/Midland High that were talented and went there because they knew they had a better shot at winning state/going far in the playoffs

Wren Baker on Bowl Game Possibilities
MGNation92 replied to ChristopherRyanWilkes's topic in Mean Green Football
That would be optimal. Great location, easy travel, and I can guarantee this AD will do a 1000% better job of advertising and getting tickets sold -
I watched Herschel Sims and I believe his cousin, who played QB smoke us(Midland Lee) on national television in high school. Luckily I was an offensive player that didn't have to go against that machine, but he was a beast
-
Agreed. See San Angelo Central this year that had a LOT of good players. Midland/Odessa doesn't have the clout it used to in Texas high school football but there are still a lot of good ball players that come out of that area that could help us win
-
Well the kid can throw a decent deep ball. I knew the Harrell passing camp would be useful in getting some looks at some West Texas kids. There's talent out there and most of it goes to Tech because it's their only option

I believe 247 has us at 11 out of 14 teams We keep signing 2* guys. As Roger Daltrey once said "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"

Projection indicating Arizona Bowl vs. Idaho
MGNation92 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I've seen this one and against San Diego St. in Las Vegas. I'd much rather play Idaho. More winnable game IMO -
I would hope so. They know how many fans we'd bring

Just saw this and can't believe how refreshing it is. Uniforms may seem like a small step but they make a difference and Wren Baker knows it. Exciting times to have an AD and coaching staff that is young, hungry, and knows what's important in today's landscape. Will be fun to watch

Please dear God yes. If and when we make a bowl we need to reveal some unique ones for that game and introduce something like 5 different tops/pants/helmets for next season. We're not Alabama, get over it. Recruits want and like flash. Hell I would be happy if we went the Oregon/Okie St route and had a different uniform combo every game
