  1. I would be good if they did to Fine what A&M did with Kyler Murray. He couldn't see over the line either so every time he was on the field they would either run a read option or a bootleg. Cut the field in half and give him 3 options that he can actually see. Receiver 1, Receiver 2, or run. I think doing that for Fine would make him infinitely more effective
  2. Good to have hungry WR's. Let's just hope we can find someone to get them the ball accurately and on time
  3. I just stand the whole game. No need for a seatback
  4. Thats weird. Never saw the UNTGridiron announcement. Wonder why they didn't?
  5. Because trend shows that when the kid blueshirts they won't announce it on twitter. See Bean's commitment. UNTGridiron tweeted out a commitment from 469 area code. With Martin(and other blueshirts) the staff never formally announces it on twitter
  6. That's 2013-HOD-Bowl-MVP-Champion-QB-2nd-all-time-in-passing-yards-only-other-QB-to-win-a-bowl-game-in-UNT-history-since-returning-to-FBS-Derek-Thompson to you sir
  7. Assuming he's a blueshirt(which very much looks like it so far), I'll be interested to see if we can hang on to him if other schools offer a straight up scholarship(If being the keyword there).
  8. Would be nice. Hopefully there will be some variety/combos that they can use more of. Hope we bring back the all black too
  9. When the AD is good and ready. As always, we're slow to roll everything out. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see them until the first game. If Wren and Seth were smart they would make a production of it like this: Show the team getting hyped. Make it a big deal. My guess is none of this will happen. Unfortunate, but about par for the course
  10. The curious thing here will be, with the spring game and Lamar being scheduled first we'll truly see if Fine has progressed and we can chalk last season up to true freshman woes. If he pulls another Bethune-Cookman(11-22 for 108 yards and no TD's) the first game of the season, will the coaches be as quick to pull him?
  11. You're pretty right considering the Air Raid is more concept based than anything. There are so few plays that it's designed to out execute the opposing defense. Basically we have 20-30 plays that we have practiced a bajillion times, so much so that the QB/WR's/RB's know exactly what each other is doing for every play and the timing is damn near perfect. Always used to crack me up when watching Tech with Leach. The opposing team would have this massive playsheet that was all laminated and folded out for more plays/audibles etc and he'd have a notecard of his plays lol.
  12. Surprised they didn't amend the list to take Bean off after he committed here. Maybe I'm wearing a tinfoil hat here but the Anti-UNT sentiment seems rampant. Any time anything good happens to us it seems someone is covering it up or shitting on it
  13. I knew he was a great pickup when we got him. Guy has recruited to G5's before and recruited well, he'll be a huge asset in recruiting going forward. I expect him and Nate Brown will be our two best recruiters on staff while they're here
  14. Yeah he would(theoretically) be great at the goal line. We have so many damn former QB's on the roster we could run some crazy trick plays lol
  15. For reference, Deion Hair-Griffin's(arguably our fastest player on the roster) PR for the 200 was 22.55 Bean's PR is only .12 slower. Home run threat through the air and ground
  16. I'm interested to see how they'll use him. Good size and athleticism. Says he's an RB on the roster but they could flex him out too?
  17. Nice. I was trying to find the Lone Star Prospects list to see where they had him but I couldn't find it on Twitter
  18. Good ole Red Rocket. Appreciate his efforts, but I'm more of a fan of the QB's we're currently bringing in. Even if they're only 5'8" on a good day
  19. That's kind of the whole point between an A and a Y While both typically operate from the slot, your A is typically the Wes Welker type, and the Y is more of a big bodied possession guy like Thaddeous Thompson was last year.
  20. Footwork could use little work. Strong arm, can definitely run(His HUDL says 4.65 Sparq verified). Definitely could stand to put on weight. Throws well on the run, good release. Definitely the best QB recruit we've gotten in a long time Edit: Definitely not a pro at diagnosing film. That's just what I think
  21. This is the kind of recruiting I can get behind. Great pickup. Welcome to North Texas Jason!
  22. He was a true freshman last year. Would've been a true sophomore this year
  23. Damn. He looked like he would be able to step up big this year. Looks like another freshman might be getting more playing time now
  24. Absolutely. Maybe thats why the UNTGridiron twitter didn't announce the area code of Kason Martin? Maybe they offered as a Blueshirt and were going after Bean as well? I'm pretty sure he's the only Mansfield QB we're recruiting
