While I tend to agree with you on how terrible Littrell's recruiting has been and the negative side effects it will have on the program, I'm still in a "wait and see" mode. Only reason being is that seeing the guys that McCarney brought in with no other offers, you could see on tape, why these guys had no other offers. I think Littrell is at least finding kids that could play in high school, and hoping they'll translate into results on the field in college. Will that happen? We just have to wait and see

I, for one, am appalled that there isn't more cussing at the games. What is this? A football game? Or Church? Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves.

I'm thinking they might unveil the uniforms at this. Seems like the perfect time to do so.

DRC: News, notes from opening day of practice

Hopefully he gets a shot to show it this year -
We're talking about Hoston again? lol. The one that got away. I don't understand how he can be 2 for 2, he started his eligibility clock in 2014 and skipped 2016. If you don't play a season can you count that as a redshirt year?
-
The scary thing with Darden is he's listed at 157 lbs. I almost want him to Redshirt a year simply for that fact. Kid is tiny by FBS standards. Give me Hosley, Hair-Griffin, Evan Johnson, Wyche, or someone like Daniel Khan or Kam Duhon

Justin Cain(#85) has been added to the roster as a WR. He "Signed" with us out of Woodrow Wilson HS, although I'm pretty sure he's a PWO

Means' performance on the field will likely be the same as Littrell's recruiting: Mediocre with an occasional splash of "meh"

If we can put up Oklahoma's offensive production I'd have no problem with it. I don't see that happening for at least another year or two.

DRC: News, notes from opening day of practice
MGNation92 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I just hope the staff will be as quick to pull Fine if he goes 61% completion for 237 yards 2 TD's and 3 INT's in the first game of the season. My guess is they won't. The real question is will this be another McNulty situation or will Littrell actually pull the trigger on Shanbour/Pearson? -
How many beers would you theoretically receive? I mean are they gonna be on a ration system or what

Fine still not taking the reigns from Shanbour? Maybe he's not the savior some think he can be -
"Hates" Fine? Or doesn't think he's that good to begin with? Two different things. I know Ben's not the only one that thinks Fine might be a little small to play QB, I also know that many will people will agree that Fine regressed to the point of instead of taking the reigns and becoming the 100% for sure starter, Shanbour, a "QB that has only thrown one pass ever of all time ever", has a shot of beating him out.

http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/ntex-m-footbl-mtt.html Notice a few new names here. Also see Caleb Chumley at 6'5 244 lbs. If he can stay healthy that kind of size/athleticism down the seams will be hard to stop. A lot of guys look like they got leaner/hopefully faster. Looks like we're gonna try to go the "Gary Patterson" route of small but fast as hell.
-
I was highly impressed with Christian Hosley. I think he'll fit that role quite well. I also think both Siggers and Evan Johnson will play Slot/RB and do a lot of damage. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing 2 back sets and seeing what kind of mismatches they can get running routes out of the backfield.

I still do the M'fing eagles chant because it's fun. Lots of other "big time" schools' student sections say/do a hell of a lot worse. Y'all need to get over it. It's a student section thing and if you don't like it, don't sit over there.

Shanbour is on the leadership council but not Fine? Isn't your starting QB supposed to be the most influential leader on the team? Seems kinda weird to me

Kinda sad when our recruiting guru knows we're f***ed on a recruit as soon as UTSA offers but Littrell has this right? -
I seriously think this kid might be the best player in our 17 class. He is gonna tear it up

You clearly haven't seen our top 10 in the nation Logistics program. Our college of business as a whole is severely underrated and gets zero credit for some incredible programs. -

He found out we're all satan worshipping, intergalatic space lizards that are out to get him. He has no idea how correct he is when he's talking about Harry's Hit Squad. We've been bred to take him down at any cost -

Just realized this is my tenth season of UNT football
MGNation92 replied to oldguystudent's topic in Mean Green Football
First game for me was Idaho in 2013. I got a bit spoiled with my first season, then it all came crashing to reality in 2015, but I have hope for Littrell. Just wish he would recruit better. -
