Would be nice but our AD took years to even get the SOW and somehow they don't want to use the state of Texas on anything. Don't get me wrong I think the SOW should be our go to helmet, but some alternates with Texas or something similar on them would be a pleasant surprise(yes I know we got the chrome last year, it was still the wings of the SOW)

Well there you go. I don't think it should be a problem regardless. Everyone drops passes. But then again I don't see them every day. I think if the coaches were really worried then we'd be hearing more about it from more than just Vito.

Also have to think about it this way. Was it a dropped pass? Or just a bad throw. To me a dropped pass is something that's placed square in the numbers or within a foot radius of your upper body. If it's a bad throw that he got his fingertips on can't really call that a dropped pass. Point being I think Smiley will be fine. He's a good receiver.

I agree with Vito. 6-6 and Greg White breaking out. He has looked really good. Could be a true big bodied downfield guy we've been missing. I came away impressed with the deep ball on saturday. Fine really seemed to improve that facet of his game

Shows why using the metric of other offers makes more sense than actual rating. Especially in the realm of G5 recruiting. Gibbs was a huge win for us, as was Kameron King.

Also makes you wonder how much they'll use the QB run game this season. Hopefully they can sprinkle in some more read option game. Just need to teach the QB's to slide/get out of bounds instead of getting blown up/potentially hurt for 2 extra yards

I think if he's out for an extended period of time it will hurt us, but not too terribly. I really liked what I saw out of Pirtle in the same position. He isn't huge or super athletic, but he has the trust of his quarterback, catches whatever is thrown his way, and is a nuanced route runner. I feel pretty confident in him and Smith replacing Chumley if he's out

All the offense I saw on Saturday was pretty bad. I didn't really see this "spark" Mr Vito mentions. The first team was definitely better than the others but even then they looked pretty pedestrian.

Punter worries me a lot. 36 seemed better than 93 but both were very inconsistent. We're gonna miss Keena Greg White is gonna do great things. Fine looked the best today. Inside zone didn't seem to be working well. A lot of swing passes. Pirtle looks good in the Y. Lots of guys in red jerseys. Bussey wasn't even suited up. Hope nothing big happened with Chumley.

Yeah that's a bit of a head scratcher. My guess is they're going to count a lot more on their stunting across all three linemen to cause issues rather than your prototypical nose holding the point of attack every play. I suspect if Krasniqi sees any extended time there, we'll be stunting a LOT. Not that we don't already stunt a lot, but more than usual due to overall lack of size.

Well to further drive his point home, UTSA has a dedicated Rivals guy, and while he may not be able to completely change ratings and they are getting good recruits. That kind of influence does have an effect on how they're rated. Money makes the world go round, and people that pay for recruiting access want to be happy with what they're paying for, IE recruiting sites will give more favorable ratings to fanbases that are paying in order to keep them happy.

I said 5-7. Until Fine and the O-line has shown significant progress I can't see us being much better than last year
